I have a question: Was that oil on top of jesso and acrylic? Or wasn't all jesso and acrylic? Just wondering for the purposes of creating something like this. It is absolutely beautiful! Thank you!
@@oilpaintingwithlinda I do work with acrylics but mostly oils. As far as the sunrays over an ocean, I haven't done that yet. I think that would look great.
Ray Naso Art Studio i’m so happy i came to youtube to see how people make them happen.. i was going to wing it just now. i guess i should buy this oil asap! thank you!

Thanks for the awesome question. I actually painted with oil paints over the gesso. Hope this helps. Happy painting 🎨
C'est très jolie ! J'aime bien !
Thank you very much Nathalie

I Love your Art...I've followed you for years, first time subscribed. You are my inspiration and I hope my own art shows alittle of you. :)
Thank you very much Linda for the kind words, and thank you for subscribing. I really appreciate it.
I watched you create Sunrays. I'm still experimenting on creating sunrays and clouds over an ocean...using acrylics first. Have you done this?

What a beautiful painting, I'm looking for enlighten paints to improve my technical work on lights, and this video help me a lot, thank you :)
Glad it was helpful! Thank you for watching
Can I use black canvas and just mix some black acrylic to regular Gesso?
You can definitely use a black canvas. You can also use black acrylic and white gesso. Experimenting is half the fun.
Harika
Thank you
You said you used a little bit of thinner, what kind of thinner?
I actually use "Klean Strip Odorless Mineral Spirits". Available at Home Depot

You are so good painter but so underrated I personally love your paintings😃
@@summayahakram1875 Thank you very much for your kind words
so to clarify.. you need the oil for the sun rays to work?
Great question Cassandra. I would say yes. You can use straight paint but it would turn out more opaque and more difficult to spread.

@@cassandragarcia3434 you’re welcome. I’m glad I was able to help
Why do you need to use the oil?
@@shirleyclanton2730 Great question Shirley. Oil helps thin the oil paint and allow it to flow smoothly.
What is jaaco
I think you're referring to Gesso. This is used for priming the canvas. It's available in white and black.
I just ruined my life watching this 😮❤
Sorry to hear that
Sunrys too thick for me.
No worries. Make them any size you want
You have just spent way too much time on painting your canvas black.
Thank you
