The entire album builds up until this point. There is this sense of struggle and emotion and conflict and redemption throughout the album, up until the final lines of this song and then the ending guitar riffs, that seem to carry your soul away, moving upward, outward, and away, farther and farther from Earth, from this realm. The message seems to be acceptance of the end of ones life, the end of the journey and the dramatic play, which includes all your loved ones and all you know. You can't stay here, it's time to move on. You must leave them behind.
