Hello my friend . I am like you ,in love with OmmoKalsum. I am over 80 years old ,and do not speak or understand Arabic ,but I have been following and listening to her music since I was 18 . Also I have been researching her life Her voice is over 500 octavos strong ,the strongest voice for example in the world rarely gets close to 500 . Because of that she keeps the mike at least one foot away from her ,you may notice if you try ,the mike is hanging away from her ,she never held the mike while singing. Briefly : Her father was a religious man and used to go to different gathering to pray and sing religious song ,she used to take her along , but she used to dress like a boy and accompany her father in singing ,her voice was so good that the father let her perform the religious song alone but still people would think she was a boy , she would dress like a boy ,She kept this procedure until she got older and then she started singing as herself i.e. a woman. To make the story short, she became so famous and got associated with the top and the best musician and poets of Egypt .Most of the songs the lyrics are made only for her songs by the top poets . She also associated with Mohammad Abduwahaub the top singer .She always held a scarf in her left hand while singing . I can write a book about her Good Luck. CIRO
Egyptian master music since ancient times , Egypt is so unique about the using of the musical instruments in music also having its own unique tempo and music , that’s why I can find a lot of our songs taken by Turkish singers , cuz the closest to Egyptian style is Turkish and Greek music not Arabic of you really into music you can spot this easily if you can know what are the Arabic music , the gulf are has different music , North Africa is also different, levant also different ( Palestine, jordon,Lebanon,Syria) so Egyptian music is alone in the Middle East and unique they added alot to the music which made it so attractive to the ear , plus they know how to mix Egyptian heritage into Mediterranean vibe too , hope you got my point
Fun fact: In that concert in Paris Umm Kulthum made at that time the highest salary in the world, she received twice as much as Maria Callas and four times as much as Sammy Davis jr at the same venue. The french media kept praising her for a week after the concert writing article after article of how they have never seen anything like it. As for the microphone it hangs upside down standing 2 meters away from her. Her voice was to powerful for the mic to stand close.

The great Umm Kulthum. She used to keep the microphone far away from her in order to protect it from damage due to the strength of her voice. It is mentioned that several times the microphone broke down during the concert and she continued her concert successfully without a microphone. Yes, the strength of her voice is exceptional.

Actually all old microphones were put in that way, far from the artist or actor im arabic and I see it alot But cant deny the powerful voice of um kulthoum
@@DEELASSSSSSS Her larynx produced two octaves, each one shoulder, meaning a sound space of 8 tonal degrees, and the voice of Umm Kulthum was up to 16,000 vibrations per second. There are several studies conducted in Ain Shams engineering and Canadian and European universities, and it was found that no singer has reached that number. The most famous international opera singer is Maria Callas, whose voice reached 9,000 for a short time.

Her voice is very strong, it malfunctions any microphone near her, and this is one of her strengths, so she is the greatest and her music is better than Beethoven and Mozart's pieces.
She is known for her strong voice . She s considered as the strongest voice ever . They put the mic so far away from her like miles so that ghe audience dont het deaf lol
Listening to her songs has certain rituals, you should listen to them late at night in an open space and with the device a bit far from you. That sensation you get is what Arabic night is.
a fact about om kulthum: Due to the strength of her voice, the microphone was hung from the ceiling 2 meters away from her due to the intensity of her voice so that the microphone would not explode.

She is the sky and the rest is cloud.
I wanna tell you something special about this song in particular...The singer (Umm Kulthum) and the composer ( Abd Al-Wahab) had always hated each other and they'd have never worked together but the Egyptian president of that time (Abd Al-Nasser) who had a very overwhelming popularity and influence in Egypt asked both of them to produce a song together (I don't really know if he was aware of the beef between them or not) so you could say both of them were secretly competing with each other so that everyone would think their performance was superior and that ended up giving us this masterpiece.

Om Kolthom's concerts that days only contains 3 songs...each song lasts for "at least" 2 hours... because after each part people keep clapping their hands till she repeats that part at lest for 3 times and they refuse that she goes to the next part of the song without repeating more and more

About the microphone part, her voice was so powerful that this was the only way in order not to break the microphones back then, which actually was crazy af!
I can also recommend Abd el halim Hafez, another great egyptian singer, he has many songs that are really meaningful, i wish you could have understood the lyrics in arabic cause they're truly unique, for umm kulthum and abd el halim 😀😀
The song of Um koltum may remain for 40 minutes, and the thing which I can't imagine, how can she stand on the stage for nearly one hour without any rest to sing only one song, and people stay active with her. She is magnificent

@Steve Mac yeah sure 😏 looks like you're an expert in Egyptian ancient and modern history , have you heard of ali Mostafa musharrafa ?
@Steve Mac with my whole respect what are you talking about , when you said that saddat and om kulthum are the only good from egypt I got offended that's why I wrote that comment and now you're ard saying egypt has the biggest number of nobel prizes , like you are making fun again ?!! And what has my belief to do with that ?
@Steve Mac I searched that and it's the USA not egypt , and I'm sorry I thought you meant my religion and I thought you were making fun.
Om Kolthom's concerts that days only contains 3 songs...each song lasts for "at least" 2 hours... because after each part people keep clapping their hands till she repeats that part at lest for 3 times and they refuse that she goes to the next part of the song without repeating more and more
Amazing video, greetings from Egypt ❤🤍🖤
That microphone is only to transfer the voice to the radio channel, her voice is so powerful, no need to have microphone.
Um Kelthum is a true living legend
so much love from Saudi Arabia 🇸🇦
Fun fact about the 🎤 in her beginnings they used to put the 🎤 in front of her mouth directly and what happened is she destroyed the 🎤 with her voice that's why they put it far awayfrom her..
She's the best singer of all times proud to be Egyptian like her ♥️👸🏻
You are absolutely right she has a heavenly voice. An exceptional voice that is hardly repeated in generations.
About the microphone part, her voice was so powerful that this was the only way in order not to break the microphones back then, which actually was crazy af!
الملكه
I can also recommend Abd el halim Hafez, another great egyptian singer, he has many songs that are really meaningful, i wish you could have understood the lyrics in arabic cause they're truly unique, for umm kulthum and abd el halim 😀😀
The microphone was hanging from a long distance, as her strong voice used to destroy many microphones before.
The song of Um koltum may remain for 40 minutes, and the thing which I can't imagine, how can she stand on the stage for nearly one hour without any rest to sing only one song, and people stay active with her. She is magnificent
she had a chair on the stage and sometimes she sat down during the long music and then stand again to sing.
She had concerts up to three hours Non-stop not just an hour
