I just picked up an old Eventide Time Factor which is already a lot of fun to play with. This pedal looks a lot more powerful, but it also looks like a pedal that would really benefit from a three or four line OLED screen rather than tiny little LED's and hidden functions. It doesn't look like it's too difficult to use in the long run, but the Rose definitely seems like it's about one step too far into "pushing-and-holding and pressing different combinations of buttons" territory for its own good.
The Timefactor is one of my favourite delay units ever, I toured with that bad boy for years. I think an external 3 or 4 button midi controller would make all the button tapping stuff easier live
Appreciate the quick review on this. Can't really knock them for trying something a bit different. The fidelity and reliability will always be at a high level with Eventide- so that's never a concern. It will be interesting to see if any serious pros add this to their rig and how they use it.
Leon Todd fair call you’re wise to cater to as wide an audience as poss too. And just bc it’s 80’s doesn’t mean it can’t sound awesome you got some great sounds from it
Leon Todd if you’re an artist you likely believe music is truth and beauty that can save the world....it’s natural to feel bias towards the sounds you feel most in that context. That part of inflamed public passion has never killed anyone to my knowledge....it’s like we can get out troll rocks off defending our fav sounds and is still all fun.
Sounds like a Steve Vai horror film soundtrack ;-) There's just something about hifi digital delay that has never gelled with me. For one off sound effects maybe, but for anything seriously musical the subtle repeats of a tape delay (even a digital clone) just sit so much nicer in the mix.
The inaccuracies of tape style delays really add a lot of character. I've really been getting into the old school digital style stuff this does for ambient tones - perfect for those horror film moments :p
Leon Todd: A man with the timeless beauty of a rose in bloom.

Vernon Reid had one on his board, but then again he has one of everything on there! Agree that eventide are always rock solid.
Leon. Not related, but watching a crime show about Perth. Man, the town has sooooo many electrical lines above the middle of the street. 😂😂
We're only just getting underground power. What a time to be alive
@Ben Hackett yeah absolute garbage. 20 billion + down the drain
Nice vid man delay and chorus so 80’s so passé
It's strange that those tones have made a mini comeback with indie stuff these days .

@@Atttuner exactly!!!
Delay and chorus are not inherently 80’s sounding.
