- Follow me on my day outside the walls of the hospital. Today was my "Zero" day which is a day that we get off during the week to make up for the extra hours we do whilst doing weekend and night shifts.

I'm so close to finishing my A&E rotation. I absolutely loved the rotation but the rota was brutal!

Hey there! Massive congratulations on getting into GP training!! I'm currently just finishing my second year at Bham med school and I'm hoping to be a GP with special interests in mental and women's health, so I'm really excited to be able to follow you as you start GP training! It's especially nice to see someone looking forward to being a GP as well, there's barely anyone in my year at the moment who's at all interested in GP work, they all want to be heart and brain surgeons etc. You're going to be great as a GP, you have such a lovely nature and I wish you all the best for finishing FY2 and starting your training! :D Thanks, Erin x
Hi Erin. Thank you for such a lovely message!!
I’m glad you’re considering GP too, when I was in Med school I had exactly the same scenario. Everyone wanted to become surgeons and paediatricians, however once people started their FY1 and FY2 jobs there’s was a large number of people starting to consider GP (even those that would make fun of others that wanted to be a GP) - so hold tight as most people will follow in your footsteps 😊❤️
Would love to see more vlogs of your life outside medicine x
😁😁😁😁😁😁you don’t know how much I’m smiling right now 😂😁😁😁😁😁😁😁
@@bilaalhussain2989 Bilaal you're foken everywhere 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
More coming soon ☺️
congratulations!
Thank you ❤️
OMGGG congrats so proud of you, excited for you!!❤️ defo more vlogs like this, you had a productive day off! maybe do the husband Q&A?
btw I don't know what its called but when I was on holiday I had this kebab rolled in like a butter filled wrap and I had it with the spicy lentil salad! it was so good since that day, iv been excited to go to Turkey and try all the different types of turkish dishes!😋
Thank you!!!
That productive day was an exception. Rest of my days consisted of moving from the sofa to the kitchen 😂
That sounds interesting, I don’t think I’ve eaten that before
Love the videoss😊
Thank you ❤️
Amazing..
Thanks!
I've just graduated from med school and I enjoy your content! More non-medical vlogs would be cool :)
Congrats on getting into the GP training programme! I'm hoping to do GP training in a few years. Could you do a video on how to apply and what we need to do/study/costs/any other useful info etc. Thanks xx
Hi Subha. Of course I can try :)
yaa çok büyük keyifle izliyorumm, evin işin her şeyin çok düzgün gidiyor maşallah 🙏🏻 umarım bir gün ingilterede bir hastanede çalışmak bana da nasip olur
Tessekur ederim. Disardan yolunda gidiyormus gibi gozuksede icerden zor :( gelirsen tanisiriz ☺️
Got my first year exams for med at ucl in a month, been binge watching your videos as procrastination lol
😂😂 anything to not revise. I’m flattered thank you ☺️
Doctors life is a never ending battle
Especially that one precious week off day ll be consumed by washing cleaning and other stuff
I know right! I almost feel guilty if I sit down and do nothing that day. I’m always on the go
Gongrats❤️😘😘
Cok guzel:)
hi:) I have a query. Should i pay certain amount of money as fees during my core training and specialtiy training being an IMG?
Congrats on your GP training!😃 I’ve just been accepted to Cardiff and Keele medical schools. I like both and can’t make a decision. Any suggestions?
Thank you!!
I don’t know much about either university, but a good way to make up your mind is to consider the following:
- the type of course: traditional/problem based learning
- cost of living in the area
- opportunities to do additional qualifications during the degree
- abundances of societies available for students and general social life
hey you mentioned using skinoren in a previous video, I also live in the UK and unfortunately it's not available otc. where do you get yours from? thanks!
Hi!
Yes. It’s prescription only, I get mine from my GP
can you also do Top Ten tips for the new FY2s for your next video? I have been binge watching your videos as I am about to start my FY2 next month and I am getting nervous as I am also an immigrant doctor. Thank you~!
Hi!
Of course :) I’ll try my best
No need to be nervous, FY2 is just a natural progression from FY1 - so you’ll be more than okay 😊
The Junior Doctor I really hope so too but I became a SHO through PLAB pathway so everything is just so new, the system, the language, the accent ect! haha And btw, congratulations on getting into GP training!!!
Every new thing is exciting and also totally normal to feel anxious and worried (it’s all part of a normal response - would be weird if you weren’t nervous 😂)
Thank you!
👍
Hey! Congrats on getting into GP Training!! I'm about to start FY1 - just a quick question RE the exam for GP Training! At what point do you sit it in FY2? A lot of the rotations I'm ranking have A&E for the first rotation in FY2 - is this a bad time to do A&E if you're going to be revising for the GP exam?! Thank you :)
The exam is in January. With the osce component in February. I had the exams during my a&e rotation and it actually worked out well. I had a hectic rota but had big chunks of time off which helped for revision
The Junior Doctor how hard is the exam and how did you revise for it? Also what happens if you don’t pass first time?
The exam was straight forward once revised for. You can take it more than once so there are opportunities to improve your score during the next application process
congratulations to finish yr night shifts nd weekend shifts. and best of luck for starting GP training..... )) i hvv one thing to ask what is the salary for GP nd how many duty hours in a week?
thankyou doctor in advance :)
Hi :)
I’m not sure of the salary myself however this website will help you
www.google.co.uk/amp/s/elumnus.co.uk/2018/11/09/gp-training-pay-scales-including-gp-registrar-pay-2017-2018/amp/
The hours are the same as an FY2 whilst you’re training in hospital
@@DrEzgiOzcan hi:) I have a query. Should i pay certain amount of money as fees during my core training and specialtiy training being an IMG?
The Junior Doctor thankyou so much 😊
Am loving your channel, is your husband a doctor 👨⚕️
Thanks Jude!
He’s a IT engineer 😊
You don’t Into hospital during zero day?????
Man you’re like the first doctor I’ve met who’s had a break.
It’s well deserved 💫🤙
Funny video tho...:😂
😂 thanks
Hi! Doing my A-levels next year and I was just wondering what you took for A-levels? Also is maths necessary for medicine as I’m not great at it and don’t really think it would be a great decision to take it as an a level. Thanks
Hey Nick. I did maths, biology, chemistry and psychology.
I don’t think maths is necessary. The best way to check is to go on a few universities websites and check the entry requirements they have
I got AABc 😊
I myself prefer a specialty with much more stress!!!(am I crazy or what?)
And I like working in a hospital rather than my own office.
BTW Congrats on your new position 💜💜
I like Turkish food 🥘 they are so much like our food in Iran and yummy 😋
Ignore those people, to me they are cowards! 😑
Hope you enjoy your last rot!
(Different topics in one comment)
That’s not crazy :) totally preference 😊
Thank you ❤️
Turkish food is my fav too (definitely no bias there 😂)
How many years is gp training? Is it at 1 practice throughout?
It’s a total of 3 years. 18 months in hospital and 18 months in a GP practise
@@DrEzgiOzcan why do you still have to do hospital work?
It’s part of your training, general medical knowledge
The Junior Doctor hi there I’m a prospective medical student and love your channel! Just curious that when you’re on gp training what exactly do you do in the hospital? Is it like fy1/2 or different ??
Your job is very similar to an FY2. It’s essentially further training on the wards. You also get a whole afternoon once a week for lecture based training
Congratulation😊 and if u get time, then visit india for once,
It’s actually on my list of places to visit!
Are your parents Turkish and, did you grow up in Warwickshire? Trying to place your lovely accent :)?
yes, they're both Turkish. I grew up in North London :)
The Junior Doctor
I’m just amazed that you have the time to respond so quickly to my questions.
I love watching your videos. You would be an ideal candidate as a TV doctor. Though this may something away from your candid, natural persona displayed in your videos.
Serdal seems like a charming man and you make a lovely couple:)
That’s very kind of you. Thank you ☺️
Home tour plz
It’s already on my channel 😊

Hey I want to ask does your marks during medical school matters for getting into specialization ?
No. The only thing they may ask is which medical school you went to, that’s all
