This is the most intense, unpredictable, confusing card trick I've ever seen.

I know that Pratt and Lawrence are close friends, but the way she behaves here makes me wonder why they aren't a couple, because she clearly has feelings for him.
I think Jennifer's reaction right at the end of the trick was the best part. She was very embarrassed for Chris for most of the trick, then BAM, he comes through.
And she looked amazing while doing it.

Bio logy watch carefully. You can see that right from the first moment he got the deck of cards he looked at the top three cards ...funnily enough the two 4's and ace. He knew the third card down was ace right from the start. He shuffled but never the top of the pack. Gotta watch carefully. Very skillful.
Nah dude go to 5:45 and you'll see Chris use his fingers to rub against Will I Am's arm and then if you go to 0.25 on the video speed the card is at the bottom which is why he says clench tight so he can slap the other cards all you need to do is slow down the video and realise his arm was turned to hide the card from the camera but in slow motion you can see his hand movements as he pulls the card from Will I Am's jackets/blanket thing.

The reason why they edited out this segment from the main show is because Jennifer was taken to the hospital at the end for jaw dislocation.
Youknow, the joke would be funny to me if I hadn't spend the last few weeks learning everything about jaws. And dislocation usually happens when the jaw moves to left/right and pops out of the socket right above the ear.
Not if you open it wide. You can open it up to 5 cm's (in between teeth, not lips) and still not damage your jaw.
Sorry for ruining your joke with my facts. It's just that it took me weeks to learn it and this was my only chance to show off.

It's actually fairly simple. All you need to do is take a look at the third card from the top, and shuffle them in a way, that these cards stay on top. So you know which card it's gonna be from the very beginning. And the top part ends up as the middle pile that get's picked from. Then when you go through and look for their card you manipulate it to a certain spot. When you show your guess and set them aside and burn another card, you actually set the real card aside instead of the one you had just wrongly guessed, and burn that one. The wrong guess is at the bottom that you show, and the right card is hidden beneath that, and you pull that second card out and set it aside, while people think you pulled the bottom card, like with the other ones. So the right card ends up in the 4 wrong guesses pile.
You place that one in the first where he squeezes, while the others are more loose, so they fly away when you hit the cards, and the right choice stays.
Watched a video how it's done after seeing this trick done and learned it right away. And if you know how it's done, you can even do it in different variations. With 3 guesses or whatever.
His charisma and delivery make it work, as in most card tricks. That goes a long way, even if you know how tricks are done.

Here is the process for all those who wanna know:
When he first gets the deck, he flips through them and have a look at the 2 cards at the top of the deck (4 of diamonds and Ace of hearts). Then he looks at the last card and puts it on the top of the deck (4 of spades). So now the top three cards are known and in the order : 4 of spades, 4 of diamonds and Ace of hearts. He then splits the deck into three with the middle partition having the known cards. The first two cards are just are popped on the top of the decks on either sides and the third card that Will.I.am picks is Ace of Hearts which is known to Chris. So after this point the 4 of diamonds and spades are just distractions. When he gets the deck back, he rearrange the cards in such a way that the second last card is Ace of hearts. After the first attempt, he places the 3 of clubs on the table and puts the Ace of hearts on top. On the next attempt (6 of clubs) though, he places the top card (Ace of hearts) on the desk rather than 6 of clubs. The remaining two (7 of diamonds and 8 of hearts) are done as normal.
The deck on the table is now in the order 3 of clubs, Ace of hearts, 7 of diamonds and 8 of hearts from bottom to top. Show the first card (3 of clubs). Pulls out the second last card (Ace of hearts) and places it on the table. Swaps the card he just showed (3 of clubs to the top). Shows the cards and one by on place on the table. If you look closely, you will see the last two cards are 3 of clubs and 8 of hearts, 3 of clubs being repeated but unnoticed.
Final move, he pushes all the cards to Will.I.Am's fist with the last card pushed a little further in. Slaps on it causing all the loosely held cards to fall down and the remaining card is ACE OF HEARTS.
SUMMARY: Chris Pratt is a very talented, experienced, quick-handed and quick-minded magician. Plus he is a charming performer. Hats off to Chris Pratt...

The one thing I don't understand is when at the end he's showing cards and he shows 3 of clubs, puts it at the table, places Ace of hearts on top of the deck, shows second card, then places Ace of hearts on the table and shows two remaining cards and puts them on 3 of clubs and Ace, the Ace of hearts is the second card from the bottom of the deck. When he puts cards in Will.I.Am's fist, Ace is at the bottom. I didn't see where he changed cards so Ace is at the bottom. Great trick anyways and not very difficult, it's all about distraction.

This is a cool trick but is definitely a rudimentary trick. A friend taught me this in high school and it's super obvious when you know it. But you are right, Chris Pratt, being the great entertainer he is, makes it great to watch.

I’ve heard all about “misdirection”, but the way Chris had the entire audience (myself included) absolutely convinced that he was no good, making it up as he went along, out of his depth, etc etc, but then doing that AWESOME final reveal, was truly brilliant. Showmanship at its best.
I have heard it said, that a truly great, and talented magician/performer, should be able to entertain and amuse the audience, primarily. The deck of cards and the trick performed, should be virtually an added “bonus” that the magician has, to assist him, if that makes sense. I think this is a brilliant example of such a situation. 👍

This proves that the best "magic" is all about the presentation and not how hard the trick is to perform or how innovative it is. The comedian/juggler Michael Davis was (and presumably still is) a master at this. His juggling routine wasn't very hard as juggling goes but his presentation was/is perfection.
