I "had" a Colt Detective Special w/a 2" barrel since 1970. Later in life when my 2 boys had graduated from high school but continued to live at home, it disappeared. I "think" I know the guilty party is but when I questioned the boy's apparently it was taken by either "I don't know" or "it wasn't me" or "I didn't touch it"😮😅. I chose to not pursue it and they are 48 and 50 now and neither has came forward as yet, but I thought that now that they are grown men someone would have confessed😢😢 Out of curiosity, how did you aquire yours? Was it a recent purchase? What are they worth these days? Thanks, Jim

My 1st revolver was a S&W 3 in. K-frame Model 65, the stainless version of your model 13. It is insanely accurate and I've won a bunch of double action bowling competitions with it. It is a wonderful 357 and 38 spl. home defense revolver, though I limit at home to the less penetrating .38 round. my other favorite home defense revolver is an Airweight Model 37 J -frame Smith.
The Kimber sure looks nice but I heard that it's not wise to shoot full power 357 magnums in the gun due to the possibility of damage to the frame and Barrel. That's why I always pick Ruger due to sturdiness and price😊
I have the King Cobra Target and its my favorite out of all my arms. I have the version with night sight and houge grips which is perfect for carry.not too heavy or light, extremely accurate and the houge grip (rubber) has a small faux beaverton where it keeps the Webb if your hand from getting hammer bite.the wood grips are mostly for presentation and horrible for actually shooting it especially with magnum rounds.currently carrying the 3" KC iwb kydex holster and it dissappears under most tshirts due too smaller grips than an auto.looking for same style holster for the target model so I can leave the glock for home defense. Wheelgunner for life!!!
I have 5 of the 7'revolvers shown .But my most accurate n reliable home defense firearms are my Ruger Super Blackhawk 44 magnum and a non revolver - the Beretta M9A3
Why in the hell would anyone buy a 38 when any 357 Magnum will shoot 38 thus giving you the option of the more powerful round if you need it.😮 why would anyone pay 1500 for a Kimber when you can get a Ruger or a Taurus for less than half that price with no fear of damage to the gun from powerful 357 Magnum rounds😮
Choosing a home defense revolver is also about choosing peace of mind for you and your loved ones. 💞🏡 Which revolver on our list speaks to your heart, not just your head, when it comes to feeling secure at home?
I have few revolvers and many semi automatic pistols but my Mossberg 20 ga Shockwave is with # 3 buck is the go to gun for home defense. The way I see it under stress you might miss with a pistol with this all you need is point and shoot. At close range it would do the job for sure.
Shotguns just lake any other weapon should be aimed. contrary to popular belief they are not "street sweepers. Take s=a few minutes to review shot patterns with various caliber shotguns... you will be surprised how tightly they actually shoot especially at ranges under 25'.
News flash, you need to aim a shotgun, particularly at ranges under15-20 yards. Even with an open cylinder bore, the pellet spreads only about an inch for every yard. Yeah so you better aim and not just point that shotgu .
The 3" barrel S&W 686 plus is fine revolver and it is much easier to conceal and carry than a semi auto polymer pistol. I carry mine at work owb under a shirt all day and even though it is heavy, with a good belt and holster it's comfortable. I think it's a beautiful looking firearm as well even with the Hillary hole.
revolvers are too expensive, they are indeed user friendly , but blocking of cylinder using moon clips or speed loader (round not deep in cylinder) can be fatal. Loading my revolver , I always check if the rounds are put deep in the cylinder
