Amsterdam Ave Bus Ride 1993 - pt 2 (fishbowl ride in Morningside Heights)

In part two we have lots of city life on busy, yet free flowing Amsterdam Avenue on Manhattan's west side. The fishbowls in 1993 remain on just a few few routes, the M11 being the principal one. The standard north american bus of the 1960s and 1970s, survived on the streets of New York until soon after MTA Bus took over NY Bus Service in mid 2000's. But in NYCTA/MaBSTOA local service, 1993 was the last year.

I found this video in 2011 and saved it to my email and ones in a while I go back and reminisce, I was 10 years old going on 11 in 1993 and I remember everything in this video, the neighborhood has change so much in many different ways I have So many memories in this neighborhood from 80th street to 125th street, you have no idea what this means to me thank you so much

It was awesome to see these in yesterday's bus fest. I've realized that the powertrain these buses had (Detroit Diesel 6V71N) have been produced for nearly 6 decades, 1938 to 1995.

9:29 AYY DAS MY BLOCK 125th and amsterdam i was 1 year old at this time. and i lived right next to jimbos crazy how it looks so different now. jimbos still there tho best burgers in harlem

I loved those frankfurters from the cart with everything on them. We called them dirty man franks. Moms always said don't eat them but they were so good.
