Love, love, love Colette and Karine Vanasse. Such a lovely woman and an amazing actress. She sparkles in every scene she's in. Such an expressive face: the eyebrow lift, the initial hesitation with the first "I'm flying," then the look of joy with the second "I'm flying!"
Love this couple as well. Also kudos to whoever is paying attention to the historical accuracy on the Pan Am set; can't tell if Dean is adjusting trim or what at first but Boeing yolks didn't change much between 1958 and 1990. He hits the autopilot disengage and lets her fly. XD
i love when Colette says "oh this would make me really happy", the way Dean says "yeah?" after that.... you just know that he'll let her do it because he sounds like he'd do anything to make her happy :-) they are such a great couple
There is no doubt that Colette was sincere in her desire to fly the plane. Looking deeper, I think she orchestrated that sequence, telling Ted and Sanjeev about Kate so they would leave the cockpit and leave her alone with Dean. Dean had no idea that Maggie dared Colette to fly the plane, nor does Maggie find out Colette actually did it! Her smile and expression when she realizes she's flying are priceless. No one could play Colette as well as Karine - they hit a home run by hiring her!
Did you see the way she momentarily raised her eyebrows? Call it a prophecy fulfilled: in an earlier clip, Maggie responds, "Fly a plane," when Kate suggests anyone come up with something Colette would never do. Of course, Maggie went on to say that another stewardess did it as well and ended up marrying the captain. Could there be wedding bells down the pike for Dean and Colette?
Did anyone notice Colette isn't wearing her gloves? Not that Dean would write her up - he's committing an even bigger violation by letting her fly the plane even though, as he points out, the sailors techincally aren't paying passengers. Besides, Colette is probably the first woman Dean has ever met who's interested in flying - they have something in common. She's not just smiling at the end of this scene - she's glowing! And she's still glowing in the next scene.
Colette and Dean make a great on-screen couple. ...but, the subject of "marriage" has been brought up and I'd just like to say..... I don't think any of the stewardesses are looking for marriage. They are looking for excitement and fun. They are looking for Romance and Love. ...but, not marriage because they would be forced to quit Pan Am. This series is all about risk-takers at a time when society was changing its attitudes on just about EVERYTHING and these women are front & center stage!
These two are perfection. He makes her dream come true
I imagine if there were a second season, Colette becomes a pilot.

I really love Colette... Her dream came true.. I cried..
My favorite scene!

@Justdivine7 God, me, too! Colette is so beautiful! Karine Vanasse is so expressive. Every time she smiles, I smile along with her. She is a gem!
I almost expected Colette to give Dean a big kiss right then and there.

Did anybody else think of Titanic when Colette said "I'm flying"?
Dean is so cute!! I love hem!!
Colette is sooo cute
I remember a Pan Am pilot let me feel the controls
:) thats so cute hope they get married in "six months"
Can we go back to this, please?
Dean's coffee disappears once Ted and Sanjeev leave the cockpit.
It is earllier in this episode, near the begining when the girls are playing truth or dare.

Dean does not look interested in writing up his stewardesses - their ground supervisor has enough on them already.
I don't think Dean bought Colette's claim that Kate was taking her clothes off, judging from the expression on his face. Ted and Sanjeev did, though.
Do you have the video scene where the sailor does the hilarious strip tease?
