hey man, i had the same problem. i actually passed out and dropped the bar on my head from it. i wasn't doing the valsalva wrong. look up Omar isuf's video called like "my #1 tip for a strong overhead press"; the setup he talks about there really helped alleviate the pressure for me, though it will take some playing around with. keep this between you & me

Fried catfish is easy. Mix 2 cups cornmeal with 1 cup all-purpose flour and a teaspoon of baking soda. Add salt, fresh black pepper, cayenne pepper, and whatever other spices you want to the dredge. Dip the catfish in buttermilk, then dredge it in the cornmeal mixture. Place it on a plate or rack and chill in the fridge for at least 20 minutes. Then fry in a neutral oil for 5 or so minutes, or more if the catfish is cut thick. If your batter isn't sticking, it's usually remedied by chilling it in the fridge or freezer longer or at all.
the easiest solution for the guy whos wife has a 2in shorter arm would be to lift the bar enough on the short side with a platform under the plates. You would have to raise the bar more than two inches on that side though.
Mabye doing some kind of holds with really heavy weight for a short time, let's say 10-20 seconds for 2-3 sets once or twice a week, could be useful to get your grip used to lifting weights that are heavier than your deadlift? This would be for people approaching the end of NLP and having their grip be the actual limiting factor in bringing their deadlift up and not something else. Of course there are always the 3 usual methods which are hook grip, alternate grip and straps.

You can take videos of your lifts and send them in to the Starting Strength forum and somebody would most likely be happy to critique your form. Also you could watch your own videos and could attempt to tweak your form from there! 🙂

I'm 52, but never told you when I was at the seminar. I do keep bouncing off a glass ceiling on my dead lifts and squats. It is very annoying.
