@Frank Carlone Dude, I couldn't agree more. Alex Trebek was truly a wonderful man and a terrific host of Jeopardy. He will be forever missed. RIP, Alex.
He won $5 and my complete respect! I've never heard Alex crack. Never, he held it in which is amazing, but he cracked slightly. Never thought that would get me.
Hearing Alex's voice cracking absolutely killed me. It was the firstband only time I'd seen emotion come out of him. He was always so selfless and professional... but here, he was more human than any of us.
Man. Think. He’d been doing this show for decades. And towards the very end, he saw a contestant risk all their winnings just for a message that he was loved. That’s human.
Watching this makes me cry. Loved Alex and watching him on Jeopardy. The sentiment of the contestant showed compassion beyond what this show was about. Yes, its a game show to win money, but he sent a message that its not about the money. The guy in the middle was the true winner here.
My grandma loved Jeopardy. We used to watch it every day. She had a little notebook so she could keep track of the money each contestant would win. She passed earlier this year in January. I like to think now she gets meet him and say what this sweet young man did: We love you Alex! Rest in power❤️
You sometimes don't realize how much someone has impacted your life until they are gone. Haven't been able to make it through an episode since he's passed without shedding a tear. What is we love and miss you Alex?
I am reading the comments, having just learned that Alex Trebek has died. As a boy growing up in America, every night I watched Jeopardy with my grandmother, who was the most intelligent I had ever known (mom is close, but not quite!). She knew almost every answer, and it never ceased to amaze me. I wanted to be as smart as her, and so I read. I always cherish my memories of her, and now I have lost not only her knowledge and wisdom, but the soothing voice that announced her victory with every question. No doubt, she is in heaven as we speak, waiting her chance in line to correct him on something! RIP Alex Trekeb, and Helen Wilhelmina Freiin von Klemmer, RN
Alex.....please watch over our country. You brought everyone together while you were here. Now as our angel in heaven your real work begins. Rest In Peace dear man. You are my hero. M
You're in a better place Alex. I know you'll still always be around just communicating in different ways to all your loved ones. To anyone who's ever lost someone, take time out your busy lives to look and listen carefully and you'll find them. Sending love back and forth forever.
One day this awesome human will pass. I’m not saying within the next year or so, I’m just saying “at some point in time he will pass away”. When he passes away, this guy will really look like a true hero. He does now, but when people see that a guy gave up 1,995, winning 5, to tell Alex how awesome he is that guy will be quite a venerable human to behold.
The guy (I forgot his name) didn’t know the answer and probably thought, “Eh, what the heck… if I’m gonna guess the wrong answer, it might as well mean something.” He may not have won the game, but in this brief moment, he won Alex’s heart. 😭🥰
RIP!! ALEX TREBEK 1940-2020!! MR.JASON ANTHONY ROUTHIER IN BALTIMORE MD ALSO LOVES YOU TOO ALEX!! THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF MY TV LIFE ESPECIALLY FOR JEOPARDY!! 36 YEARS & 8,243 EPISODES AND FOR HIGH ROLLERS AS WELL!! ALL THE BEST IN THE GREAT BEYOND!!
My Mom was a contestant on Jeopardy, embarrased me during half time with a story about me as a kid, we were both heartbroken to hear of Alex's passing, may he rest in peace
The 1st and 2nd place players congratulate each other while ignoring the true winner standing in the middle.
This needs to be the number one comment
Typically. ☹️
Indeed.
I noticed that also. I’m so glad the real winner of the humanity sweepstakes had a big smile on his face, as it completed the daily double.
This is the problem with us. Just because we didn't see it we assume it didn't happen. Assuming is my #1 annoyance.
As far as I'm concerned, the guy in the middle won
I saved this video for a reason and it was 100000% the amazing homie in the middle
@@ryans6280agree
Me too.
Probably the most positive version of "It's not about the money. It's about sending a message."
🥲 👍
Alpharad?
Losing Alex is like losing a member of your own family. This one hurts. RIP Alex...
Came back to this video hoping for this very comment
LIKE? Alex WAS a member of everyone's family. He was the sharp, gentle TV uncle that everyone liked.
ya this one does hurt.
@Frank Carlone Dude, I couldn't agree more. Alex Trebek was truly a wonderful man and a terrific host of Jeopardy. He will be forever missed. RIP, Alex.
@The mysterious Miss X My apologies. I didn't mean to reopen old wounds.
He won $5 and my complete respect! I've never heard Alex crack. Never, he held it in which is amazing, but he cracked slightly. Never thought that would get me.
Trebek cracked twice during James holzhauer’s last game but trebek certainly broke more during this moment
Couldn't have said it better myself. Seeing Alex crack like that choked me up a little when I saw it!
Got me also... Damn man
Hearing Alex's voice cracking absolutely killed me. It was the firstband only time I'd seen emotion come out of him. He was always so selfless and professional... but here, he was more human than any of us.

This hurts even more now. Rest In Peace, Alex. We love you and will miss you dearly.
Also note, the three of them have purple ribbons on ... Purple ribbon = cancer support
Didn’t notice till you said it thumbs up
Why would anyone support cancer?
The most amazing thing I've ever seen on this show. I have no idea how Alex kept his composer.
It's "composure". But yes, he did choke up.
this made me tear up seeing it ive been watching jeopardy since i was a wee little lad im almost 21 now
alex is a true professional and a perfect gentleman
Man. Think. He’d been doing this show for decades. And towards the very end, he saw a contestant risk all their winnings just for a message that he was loved. That’s human.
What a lovely gesture. Humanity on TV. Good man
You can tell he was about to cry
RIP ALEX
This is enough to make a grown man cry :(
I did 🤷
You can hear Alex very nearly did.
Alex's eyes are super red at the end from absorbing tears
when you know you don't have a chance but still come out the winner.
He had the correct answer. Much love to Alex and his family. ❤️
How do you know?
This man just won the internet.
Watching this makes me cry. Loved Alex and watching him on Jeopardy. The sentiment of the contestant showed compassion beyond what this show was about. Yes, its a game show to win money, but he sent a message that its not about the money. The guy in the middle was the true winner here.
I can't get over what an incredible gesture that was. I would love to shake that guys hand
Thank you Alex. We really do love you
RIP Alex. I may have never met you, but you were part of my family! May you Rest In Peace!
He knew he couldng win so he decided to leave the best message ever. That got me in tears

I had just watched this video after watching Friday's episode and now he's gone. Damn!!
We know one hero that don’t need a cape!
Enough to make a grown man cry 😢
Rest in peace Alex. You will be sadly missed by millions around the world along with your family.

You're a legend Alex you will go down as a national treasure
It's always the good ones. Rest in Peace.
Everyone should cash app the middle guy $5. Someone find out his CA name.
Alex.....please watch over our country. You brought everyone together while you were here. Now as our angel in heaven your real work begins. Rest In Peace dear man. You are my hero. M
Why does he need to look over our country?
@@kiwikiwi2483 the only thing that everyone could agree on
RIP Alex.

Those other contestants are like “please let me crawl inside the nearest cupboard, thanks”
Alex almost cried
RIP Alex Trebek! Thanks for the childhood memories man we gonna miss you
Cost him everything he had but I'll bet he will go to his grave saying.....it....was....worth....every...penny!
"All right Emma... We'll be back tomorrow for more Jeopardy, See You there!"
"Not if I see you first...."
RIP Alex Trebek. You will be missed :'(
It is really sad coming back here seeing this after Alex has passed away.
We miss you Alex.
Watching this in June 2024 and sobbing! 😰😰😰😰😰😰
This video hits hard today.
RIP Mr. Trebek
Rest easy, Mr. Trebek. 💔
A true emotional moment.
RIP Alex Trebek
Who votes this guy to take over after Alex trebek retires?

We love you forever,Alex!

RIP Alex ❤️
Thank you for al the childhood memories
I had been seeing him on TV for so long I really thought he'd just do it forever. RIP Alex, thank you.
Emma looking like she doesn’t even recognize what is going on. She must be really lost in her own thoughts. Not a smile, not a nod. Nothing.
dayum that is quite emotional. RIP alex you were a great game show host
RIP ALEX ... THIS IS HOW WE ALL FEEL..🥲
Rest In Peace Alex Trebek
RIP Alex Trebek❤
Rip Alex , you will be missed
Priceless. That's all I have to say about that.
Wholesome moment
Starting sobbing when I saw this year's ago. Still makes me cry today. What a lovely young man. A true gentleman. We love you Alex 🥹
We love you, Alex!
The show should've ended after Alex's passing.
He's right. Good man. We do love Alex.
This gave me hope for humanity again
I liked how the middle contestant removed himself from handshakes other than alex’s
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Dhruv!!! What a kind young man! Great gesture ❤
❤❤❤❤
Dhruv! 0:31 is the BEST kind of people
this is a great moment in tv history. It really added to the whole is the contestant using a heart instead of the word love
R.I.P Alex, we’ll never forget you
This is absolutely beautiful
Alex was the best. I’ve learned so much watching Jeopardy. Thanks, Alex. We miss you terribly.
Never thought jeopardy would make me drop real tears..
By coming in last Dhruv put Alex in the foremost place.
A: The best game show host in history.
Q: Who is Alex Trebek?
So...
Just show no love to the guy in the middle huh?
We Love You Alex 💜
The guy (I forgot his name) didn’t know the answer and probably thought, “Eh, what the heck… if I’m gonna guess the wrong answer, it might as well mean something.” He may not have won the game, but in this brief moment, he won Alex’s heart. 😭🥰
Damn this is the definition of being a legend.
This breaks my heart
Especially now he's gone
We won't forget u Alex
We love you Alex. Godspeed
Two thoughts.
1. Touching moment and Alex is missed.
2. Emma looks a lot like Kim Darby. The teenage actress from the original True Grit
Rest in peace, alex! We all love you, and miss you!
We love you Alex and we'll always be...Thank you for everything Alex Trebek! ='(

Tears
We lost Alex in 2020 just three years before Bob Barker passed away in 2023. Two greatest hosts maybe gone but their legacies lives on!😢
My Mom was a contestant on Jeopardy, embarrased me during half time with a story about me as a kid, we were both heartbroken to hear of Alex's passing, may he rest in peace
Alex was a true class act, nobody will ever take his place
