      Je résume dans les grandes lignes :
      L’idée consiste à enrichir la cadence I-IV, notamment présente dans le chant « More than anything ».
      Les deux accords développés sont La b 13(sus4) et La b 13(add9), interchangeables.
      Une autre manière de comprendre l’accord serait en gardant la basse (main gauche) en La b et en jouant un accord Maj7 un ton en dessous du La b (main droite), ici Sol b Maj7, on obtient Sol b Maj7/La b, soit le même accord que La b 13(sus4).
      J’espère que ça aura été utile!

    I don’t understand why the first chord (A flat 13) is called like that. I mean, it looks like G flat 13 to me because it’s just four thirds stacked on top of G flat. And the way you voice it in the video is an inversion of that with top note (A flat) being moved two octaves lower. Am I right? (Probably not, but I’m still confused)

    Hey, this is really cool, thanks. I checked a blog post and the 30-pg gospel chord guide and it seemed to me you tend to present more advanced chords as some sort of formula (this chord = this other chord on your LH + that other chord on your RH). Do you consider that a faster and easier method than learning the intervals and building the chords from there? Thanks again.

    • @hearandplay
      @hearandplay  5 років тому

      +Helvecio Borges Guimaraes Thanks...Yes this makes recognizing advanced chords a lot easier as well as transposing them to other keys.

    I have been playing piano about 30 years I play in church all the time and have been complimented for my playing I have to be honest it is very hard (next to impossible) for me to follow your lessons. The muscians and vocalists don't use those flat keys you love so much and really wouldn't it be easier to show in an easier key then figure out all the flats. I get that this is how you play but there are a lot of people who are not going to benefit from this teaching. Now don't get me wrong I am not trying to criticize you I'm just letting you know that there is a lot of us out here who cannot benefit from your teaching and in the end you are not describing things in enough detail

      +Robby Vandermark Hi, as we cater to charismatic, soulful churches where 80% of the songs are created and performed in flat keys (as opposed to CCM music performed in guitar keys like E, D, A, etc - which we also touch on), this is more representative of our audience. A brief browse through our 10 years of lessons will reveal our target market, which we’re VERY clear about. Enjoy where you can but if this is not your style, I’m sure you’ll find it here on UA-cam.

    Soooo all the cool chords are just functioning chords over none functioning bar l bass notes?
    Please don't tell me it's that simple.

    • @henkdevries2002
      @henkdevries2002 5 років тому

      It often happens that you find certain shapes (Triads, seventh chords etc.) superimposed over other bass notes or chords. Because these sounds are already familiar, they sound cool and not too dissonant in different contexts. So this is an easy way to voice these chords, They can of course also be voiced in a lot of different ways. For example you can play different major triads over a dominant chord, to form cool altered extensions, For example: Dmaj/C7 for a C13#11 or F#maj/C7 for C7#11b9, or Amaj/C7 for C13b9, or AbMaj/C7 for C7#5#9. So you can build major triads on the 2nd, #4, #5 and 6th degree of a dominanth seventh chords and you get all these cool chords. And you can invert the triad in the left hand to fit the melody not you want. For example if you want the root in the melody: CEBb D#G#C.
