I don’t know when it came out when I just found a second season of this on iTunes and it says 2021 so sometime this year it came out but I don’t know when
That final scene is one of my favorite moments of this show. It also demonstrates that having unambiguously morally good and morally evil characters is not inherently a bad or boring thing for stories, since it confronts Ren with a morally complex choice. He knows he's likely to live to regret saving Bloth, but he can't see himself be merciless like the Pirate Lord.
a great vilain from such an underrated show. i really hope pirates of dark water gets a finale or a reboot one day. they still had 5 treasures to find xD
Such a wonderfully bizarre old show. The influence of Frank Frazetta and N.C. Wyeth is clearly visible in the art, too. Pirates of dark water is one of the very few to truly merit must-see before you die cartoons.
This show is a treasure from my past, I was looking at videos and information about it and the cost of a average episode was well over 500k a episode that was at that time and in modern type its well over 1 almost 1.6 million, so this show had a very demanding budget as compared to even modern shows. They should bring it back.
i loved this show... i hate they didnt finished it... it was more then a cartoon, it was an adventure, pirates, deadly monsters and water, and most important treasures there was worth more then gold!
I love how when Bloth is sinking in the quicksand he puts his hands up (like he's waiting for Ren to hand him the branch.) He knew Ren wasn't going to let him die, despite the fact that Ren really wanted to.
The actor who did Bloth was also the actor who did dark cat and swat. Kats and I have to say they chose a very good actor for a bad guy. He had a very good voice for it.
It'd be nice to get a conclusion but I don't trust Hollywood. Sure the series had an ecological message but it was never heavy fisted or in your face about it. Hollywood today would turn it into that kind of show.
Finally there’s a second season which I haven’t watched it yet that it’s on iTunes I just found it on iTunes and it just started this year 2021 I’m scared to watch it because I’m scared they might fucked it up but I would like to see how the show end it to
@@tammiepage6489 Just looked it up. Those are just the final 8 episodes of the original show. That must be the date they added them to itunes, as they were released from 92-93.
Agreed. Even though the 2nd season was not as good as the 1st, it was still one of the best Saturday morning shows (along with Thundarr). I still feel a need for some closure on Dark Water.
It might be him. Without a ship he has to use someone else's boat. Most likely it was the animators using an existing character model to fill out the scene. Damn good eye though.
whatever it is he says when he dumps the barrel of water on his head to put out the fire, around ua-cam.com/video/vXA4tFa-oQk/v-deo.html , "Noy jeh tadt" or something, I've had that word or phrase trapped in my head for 30 years, and would occasionally exclaim it during moments of surprise or fear, usually to onlookers wondering what the hell i just said, and usually me myself not really knowing where it came from or why i said it. I kinda knew it came from some 90's saturday morning cartoon, but couldn't place it for the life of me. Although in my head, i always pictured the character Ioz saying it.
This series deserves a revival which is on par to Pirates of the Caribbean.
I don’t know when it came out when I just found a second season of this on iTunes and it says 2021 so sometime this year it came out but I don’t know when
No kidding. And with new characters.
No not at all
No new characters finish the story
@@rm2kking It never hurts to bring in new characters to give a helping hand
@@Disneyfan82 Yeah! Just like Velma did!
One of the best villains to grace a show. I loved this show as a kid.

As a HBOMax original or a Adult Swim series?
Such a wonderfully bizarre old show. The influence of Frank Frazetta and N.C. Wyeth is clearly visible in the art, too. Pirates of dark water is one of the very few to truly merit must-see before you die cartoons.
Most cartoon villains have a bit of the coward in them. Bloth was utterly fearless.
But not very bright with the whole kill of the heir but throw a him in a cell instead of killing him on the spot.
@@Graeystone well, it's a Saturday morning cartoon...
Imagine Kevin M. Richardson as Bloth- he essentially picks up where Brock Peters left off!!!
@@michaelpowell5266yep Kevin Michael Richardson does Play Good villains

The MAELSTROM may be the greatest name for a Pirate ship EVER. This and Thundarr MUST BE MADE INTO MOVIES! Anyone catch the Wrath of Kahn reference???
KHAAAAANNNNN!!!

Me, 2 personally!☺️
Yep a good cartoon like this one has them all there'll never be another cartoon like this one.
I love how when Bloth is sinking in the quicksand he puts his hands up (like he's waiting for Ren to hand him the branch.) He knew Ren wasn't going to let him die, despite the fact that Ren really wanted to.
fun fact: John-Rhys Davies (Gimli) voices both of the Game players of Undaar as seen at 5:55
THAT STILL ONLY COUNTS AS ONE!!!!!!!!!
This cartoon is just amazing!
Indeed.
One of the most underrated villains of all time.
What an awesome villain!
I always felt like this guy was an evil Uncle Phil
The Shredder!!!
this was the coolest show man
Imagine if these two did the voices of Link and Ganondorf.
-looks left and right-
George Newburn, who voiced Prince Ren, was the main voice actor for Sephiroth until the FFVII Remake.
@Sneaky Coyote Productions *Looks at you crooked*
I didn't say, "..voiced for videogames" I said, "...Link and Ganondorf" (In particular)
The actor who did Bloth was also the actor who did dark cat and swat. Kats and I have to say they chose a very good actor for a bad guy. He had a very good voice for it.
Yep Brock Peters
The diabolical Capt. Bloth!!!
R.I.P. to the late great voice of Captain Bloth, Brock Peters.
AKA: Admiral Cartwright of Star Fleet.
And Dark Kat from Swat Kats.
Villains always say the best lines.
Oooh, he sounds like quite the magnificent bastard. My favorite kind of villain :D .
He's a very underrated villain! :)
Voiced by Brock Peters who played everyone from Star Fleet Admirals to Tom Robinson from To Kill A Mockingbird.

Damn this guy looks to terrifying to be featured in a kids cartoon.
He kills a surprising amount of people considering it was a 90's cartoon!
@@manwhoooo lol
He manages to pull off intimidating despite wearing pink.
@@manwhoooo Luckily most of his kills are pg friendly. Mostly him dropping them into The Constrictus Pit or knocking them into Darkwater.
That's what makes him a ruthless villain.
Ren is one strong dude for pulling bloth out of that quick sand
Brock Peters;
July 2, 1927- August 23, 2005. He was 78😔
I'm so sorry 😔
This show is really well animated for something I've never even heard of until today
This was a great series.
My cousin and I used to say that Tula's last name was "Jit"
2:04 2:08 2:11 now we know how Krnok lost his leg and got his peg leg.
At 1:11 I saw Joat! I thought he was a independent pirate who solely went after the heroes because Ioz stole the wraith from him.

They had me.....I was like he really going let bloth die bro cold.
Aye wouldn't have been mad 🤣 just shocked 👌.
To the constrictus!
6:49 and 6:58 😂 that part when he mentioned koonda
0:35
Ren: "Why have you brought me here....(I'm reaching for a gun I know I won't find...)...
Ren thinking: "... FUK...!".
i think Kevin Michael Richardson would be a good voice for Bloth in a Pirates of Dark Water reboot.
Sounds good
Agreed- Kevin M. Richardson would be a successor to the late Brock Peters. I can only see James Tucker as exec. producer for Warner Bros. Animation!!!
Kevin Michael Richardson does play a lot of good villains
You mean to tell me THIS was a Hanna Barbera show?! I’d have expected this to come out of something like Ruby-Spears!
3:48 - 3:50 literally the best part ever
1:08 Boom 💥 It scares the crud out of me❗️
(RIP) Brock Peters is Lord Bloth
He was Dark Kat in “Swat Kats Radical Squadron” and Tormack in “Galtar and the golden lance”.
God Jesus and the Holy Ghost are Lord. Bloth is/was a great villian and pirate captain and I hate this show was never finished.
Kevin M. Richardson would've succeeded him as Capt. Bloth!!!
