Three years late but here's why the other band members weren't there: This is from 1998 when Bon Jovi was on hiatus for the band members to pursue their solo projects. Tico got into painting and sculpting, Jon and Richie both made solo records, Hugh played on both of them (I think), and David got into writing musicals. They only got back together in 1999 to work on a film soundtrack for EdTV and then started working on the new records Sex Sells before abandoning that one in favour of another new one - Crush. This was the second time the band had been on hiatus, the first time had been after the New Jersey Syndication Tour and prior to Keep the Faith, during with Jon made the soundtrack for Young Guns II: Blaze of Glory and Richie made his first solo album, Stranger in This Town. That hiatus had been forced upon the band due to their exhaustion after the long previous tour while this second hiatus had come about in agreement with one another. Too bad that Jon had decided to scrap the third agreed upon hiatus in 2012 to quickly turn out What About Now and go on tour to get enough money to buy the Buffalo Bills - a venture he failed at anyway. If he hadn't done that and kept his promise to have the band take a time-out after The Circle Tour ended in 2011, Richie would probably still be with them.

I really like both. I grew up listening to the U2 version and also listening to Bon Jovi so I love that Jon has a version.
Pretty weak version compared to U2...mainly due to the singing.
