On foot through Latvia! Mežtakas 1st stage Old Riga - Baltezers.
In Latvia, the beginning of Mežtakas can be found in the heart of Old Riga - Rātslaukum. The route leads along Kalĥu Street, past the Freedom Monument, through Vermanes Garden and along the historic Tērbatas Street. Further, it makes a loop along the pedestrian bridge over the Zemitani railway station and continues through the forests of Biķernieki and Šmerļa. The forest trail winds through Jugla, past the Ethnographic Open Air Museum of Latvia and leads to Baltezer along pedestrian and bicycle paths.
