Not surprised that some people don't know Vishwanath or Kapil Dev! I recently went on a trip to Andaman's. Went to Cellular Jail for the fantastic light & sound show, standing in line waiting to get inside, and i overheard two teenagers talking - 1st one said "who is this Veer Savarkar? Everything here is named after him - airport n parks!" 2nd one Google's and says "i think he's a freedom fighter"!! And these kids were lining up to know about the Cellular Jail's history!
love the curiosity of those kids and that they found their own way to a piece of history. How do you assume where they studied it would/should have been in their curriculum ?

1. Kiran More/Javed Miadad argued during 92 WC in Australia and not 86 World series
2. Subash Chandra from Zee is the first to promote franchise cricket via ICL and Lalit Modi shamelessly copied it and BCCI strongarmed it to submission.
