So glad to see another Peterson Restorations video come across my UA-cam channel. Always happy to see the master of the Mustang starting another project!👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
My first car was a ‘69 Mach 1, in 1976 I paid $50.00 less motor and trans (my brother sold me his 351w and C4 tranny for $25.00. The car was really rusted out for only being 7 yrs old (not near as bad as this Boss), but 5 gallons of bondo and a $29.95 Earl Schieb paint job made it a Presentable driver from 10’ away lol. I finally junked it when one of the shock towers gave way. I wish I could have tucked it away for 48 years and had you re-body it! I only had about $125.00 invested in it lol.
It breaks my heart to see what was once a brand new Boss 302 in such sad shape. At least it'll be back together in it's former glory one day soon. Keep up the great work! 👍👍
In the late 80s I still had a 70 Torino convertible that i bought new. I paid a body shop to replace everything but the hood and deck lid. Quarters, inner and outer wheellhouses, doors and front fenders. Keep on saving them.
As long as it makes financial sense, it’s all good. New bodies of a variety of vehicles are made, so I don’t see a difference. People will pay up to have a VIN of a Boss, or Mach 1, so this is a way to meet that market.
Ben.....You aren't preserving a car, you're preserving history. One day (and it happens to every hobbiest, collector and /or restorer) the market will eventually go flat, the popularity will wain and demand will fall; but in the meantime, until it does press on.😊
I had one of those when I was sixteen was giving to me by Uncle when my grandparents past away he had in there back yard it was real rusty it was there since 1971 after it was recovered after being stolen I got it in 1985 he said if you could get to run you can have it I did getting running drove it for 8 months till I drove over some railroad crossing the driver's shock and spring shot through to hood that was end of that car.
In my opinion, if you rebuild the car around the left B-Pillar, where the VIN plate is, it's the same car. When you get back to the B-Pillar, change that too. 🤭
Every one you save is another one out in the world being enjoyed. If it can be saved it should be. Love seeing your work, one day I hope to be in a position to hire you, don't go retiring any time soon 😅
Missed you Ben good to see in front of the camera again nice teaser to show all your skills in this project your customer waited their turn and I appreciate the share don’t have Instagram but wouldn’t mind being considered
I agree, you save as much as you can, which is better than scraping the whole car. As long as people say that the cars had body parts replaced on it, and try not to flog them off as 100% original...then they are what they are.
I think i have more to work with on my 70 Mach 1 than you have. I got lucky and got a pretty solid car. The Super clean products are good stuff which i have used in my shop too.
short of being hit by a train, that's about as bad as i've seen. but as you have shown many times, you can bring these back. adding another owner to the Boss community!
I was given an estimate of $60K-80K for just the body work and paint, no mechanical work, to my 70 Boss. I can't imagine how much this car is going to cost to bring back! Looking forward to watching it being rebuilt.
These cars are getting like replica AC Cobra a few years ago, original ones are getting way out of reach, so a replica is the way to. And this has the vin! Imagine finding an actual basket case Real AC Cobra that needed every panel. Priceless today! So carry on and forget about the neg's. Soon these will be valuable an non-factory Vin replicas made from only aftermarket panels. These are blue chip cars, bar none! Cheers
Just my 2 cents on people saying nothing original left. If just some of it can be saved it’s worth it, a lot of things we have today is not 100% of what it was brand new. I look at as restoration and saving as much as possible.
Hey brother Was wondering how you go about blasting? Do you do soda, media, dustless, acid ? Im in central Florida and it’s proving difficult to find a reputable place to do any of these Thanks
The ol “ship of Theseus” argument? Well Aristotle decided it’s the same ship, because the formal cause or design does not change, and further, you haven’t added an additional (in this case Boss 302) item to existence purporting to be the original. In short, you haven’t faked a VIN or cowl tag, and you haven’t added an additional rare car to the road, just saved one from rotting the rest of the way.
I know this is how you make a living but pretending you're saving a car is a joke. Cut out the vin and if any boss specific parts and weld them on a dynacorn. Just easier that way.

Can you do a video showing vin locations I seen the driver side at cut out location but had repairs made to damaged front end panel and was replaced ?
Love your work brother. Keep saving as many of the Mustang’s as possible.

Don't let anybody give you any Greef,,, you're a good man,, been a mustang guy myself, for ever....
For my 2 cents on the subject if it’s completely rusted out BUT there’s a valid title and VIN tag for it then it’s worth saving/rebuilding.
Every morning I turn on UA-cam and say to myself “ I hope Peterson has uploaded a new project!”
It breaks my heart to see what was once a brand new Boss 302 in such sad shape. At least it'll be back together in it's former glory one day soon. Keep up the great work! 👍👍
I had a 69 Mach 1 when I was younger . Sure do miss that mustang. Also owned a 67 mustang. You have to love the rats Best muscle cars.
He definitely has the right guy to restore it looking forward for the video on this thumbs up
@ClickOnProfile446 I'm returning your message just wondering what it's about.

My 70 Boss is about to undergo a mechanical resto. 41 year barn find and thanks to I'm gonna tackle it.
Bloody hell where do you start … must be special to the customer …
Looking forward to the finished product after you do your magic 👍
Your skills to breath life into these cars is amazing. Looking forward to how this project progresses.
I’m excited to watch this process, hopefully there are plenty of videos
It would be a shame to send the VIN tag to the scrap yard…Looking forward to your videos, always something to learn!
Will look forward to seeing the rest of the build.
We love to see you build from a rust heap and save the usable parts. Can’t wait to see the process.

Great videos. Looking forward to the build.

Love the videos. Can't wait to see another Mustang reborn.
My favorite car of all time being saved! So awesome.....
Automotive historical royalty - what a car. Why would anyone favor disposal? Just so blown away by your talent and this one terrifies me! Go Brother!
Man you do unbelievable work. Keep it up brother. Keep posting your awesome videos
Glad to see you back

Haven’t seen you on for a while. Good to see you back. How’s the 67/68 fastback coming along.
Can't wait to see another video 👍🏻
YOU ARE AN ARTIST ! and the arm chair quarterbacks are Jealous.

looking forward to how this progresses. totally supportive of your efforts and ability...
Hey I really love your videos
That car doesn't need a restoration it needs a Priest. But it will be interesting to see the finished results.
Way cool and will love to watch !!!
Superclean is amazing stuff. I buy it by the gallon. Thanks
I think i have more to work with on my 70 Mach 1 than you have. I got lucky and got a pretty solid car. The Super clean products are good stuff which i have used in my shop too.
WE would like to see you working on these brojects
Glad to see a new video and project. Looking forward to the progress occasionally.
Gonna need just a little paint, that boss 302 will hum with a spark plug or two.
short of being hit by a train, that's about as bad as i've seen. but as you have shown many times, you can bring these back. adding another owner to the Boss community!
Good luck. Nice work on all your restorations. I agree, it should be saved

great to see you on again
Well it’s a valid vin and that’s worth a lot for a car like that.
Glad to see you back again, I have learned so much from watching you, I hate these long pauses between videos. Please keepbus up to date on this.
Well Done LOVE YA WORK
Like the old saying goes, "If you have to ask why, you wouldn't understand".
I buy SuperClean in one gallon jugs to remove grease and prepare surfaces for rust removal.
I hope you'll do videos of this.
Wow! Can you put a list of parts you can save? And put it on the description? This is... crazy!
I say save em all of at all possible, hate to see cool cars get scrapped
Hope to get a mustang project one dat 🤞🤞🤞
bring it back to life!!
4 speed car . So cool
Absolutely save every car...even though all your really saving is the VIN number on cars like this.
A single classic Mustang saved is one not lost!
Just my 2 cents on people saying nothing original left. If just some of it can be saved it’s worth it, a lot of things we have today is not 100% of what it was brand new. I look at as restoration and saving as much as possible.
How many estimated hours does it take to tear down and re-skin a car like this? You do great work.
No views no thumbs up no comments, yeah first.
Looking forward to future episodes on “Project Banana” 😊
How long does it take to get Dynacorn panels in for these builds? Have the backorders subsided?
Crustay!!!! At one time, this car was all new metal. It will be again!!!
It's a keeper,
That looks like a car I saw on Marketplace that was in upstate New York
Well said !
Its still a Boss 302 save as many as you can. Thanks for after market parts so they all can be saved
Folks that say negative things: have no skills, have no guts, have no means to buy a car, or are just plain ignorant. Build the damn car.
If you have the ambition and means to build these cars why not!
Sweet
Would it not be cheaper to buy a dynacorn shell or are they not assembled to your satisfaction? Just asking. Thanks for another video.
Basically you're buying a title and a vin tag with some metal around it?
Hey brother Was wondering how you go about blasting? Do you do soda, media, dustless, acid ?
Im in central Florida and it’s proving difficult to find a reputable place to do any of these
Thanks
If its got title and vin , etc., I would absolutely agree with saving it. Without those ,no.,,,,,Izzy Strong,,,,
The ol “ship of Theseus” argument? Well Aristotle decided it’s the same ship, because the formal cause or design does not change, and further, you haven’t added an additional (in this case Boss 302) item to existence purporting to be the original.
In short, you haven’t faked a VIN or cowl tag, and you haven’t added an additional rare car to the road, just saved one from rotting the rest of the way.
If you saved the metal around the vin plate and grafted that back in to new metal, would that still count?
Pretty sure I saw that boss on marketplace
Do you move stamped numbers on ineer fenders to new panels
I know this is how you make a living but pretending you're saving a car is a joke. Cut out the vin and if any boss specific parts and weld them on a dynacorn. Just easier that way.
So I should scrap it and have it crushed instead?
Your scrapping 90% of it anyway... pretendingotherwiseis delusional. @@petersonrestorations
#savingtherustbuckets 👍🏼💪🏼🤙🏼
What state did that one reside in? Looks like a Michigan car.
More carcass than car at this point, good luck with it.
hows that daily driver 66?
It's mine, I won. Don't waste your energy. hahahahaha Good luck everyone ! !
Gaidīšu nākamo video ar šo mustangu.
When one buys a new car and ends up in a crash insurance pays for repairs car is no longer original.new sheet metal, keep saving as many as you can
I have a western Ranchero GT you could make into a masterpiece, BUT NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO !
Pretty much a repop car when done, not much left of original car.
#superclean !
