Lily and I recently had our very first agility competition! I was so incredibly nervous for this event! Lily was too once we got there and she saw all the other dogs and people. First we competed in level 1 Jackpot. This is a variation of agility, like an agility game. It has specific rules and ways to earn points. I really didn't understand all of it until our competition when I could ask some last minute questions. Jackpot was before standard agility (that's basically what you would see on tv). So I was using jackpot as a way to get us both warmed up to the facility. I ran a course very similar to the course we'd be running in standard agility to get Lily used to all the equipment. In Level 1 in CPE beginners do not partake in the weave poles or teeter totter, so you won't see her on any of those obstacles today. As soon as I got Lily's collar off her, she shocked me by leaving me to go check out other people! She really never does this. I basically had to beg her to come back to me so we wouldn't get disqualified! She did this a couple of times so now I know what we need to work on in practice.

Adorable 😊 thank you for filming your day not just your runs. Going to my first CPE trial next weekend, this helped me know what to expect and not be so intimidated.
How exciting! You will have a lot of fun. Every cpe trial I’ve been to the people are really nice and helpful!
You’ll have a lot of downtime in between runs, so bring something with to keep you busy 😜 that’s also a great time to look over the course maps too!
