- Cyberpunk 2077 now supports an experimental "full path tracing" rendering solution that it calls RT Overdrive. Here's a comparison video showing the built-in benchmark running RT Overdrive, RT Overdrive with DLSS Performance mode and Frame Generation, RT Ultra with DLSS Performance mode and Frame Generation, and the regular Ultra (non-RT) modes.
Everything is from an RTX 4090 Founders Edition on a Core i9-13900K test PC, running at 1080p.
Am I supposed to be able to tell the difference?
There's a clear difference, you just don't know what you're looking at. But I'm a game dev, so my eyes are different. Most people won't even know what to look for.
But never you forget that things only look as good as they do without RT because of thousands of work hours by artists.
@@D.Enniss I know what ray tracing does, I edit videos for a living so I have an eye for this and honestly I can see small differences in the way the light scatters and shadows. But I commented because it seems to be such a subtle difference, is it even really necessary if most people can't detect it?
@@ThePunitiveDamages there is some difference. You just need to play it yourself and watch it on your big monitor to see )

Which means I don't care. Should I pay for something I don't care about?
