- This video provides a basic guide of how to instal one of our most popular Digital Thermatic® Fan Switch, part number 0444 and various retail versions of this kit.
Davies, Craig Pty Ltd very own designed Digital Thermatic Fan Switch Kit can be used with our Thermatic Fans, EWP®'s & competitors Fans. It senses air temperature as it passes through the radiator or can be placed directly into coolant and has an adjustable temperature range of 40ºC to 110ºC (104ºF to 230ºF).
This switch is operated thermally & also when the air conditioning is in operation.
Simply set the temperature by pressing the set button.
It can run 1 or two fans. The second fan (if applicable) will start 10 seconds after Fan #1 runs.
To convert temperature reading from Centigrade to Fahrenheit, remove the Jumper Pin on the unit next to the LED screen.

I ran this unit for 2 years (car is under the knife right now)
Works flawlessly, I only wish that all the wires for the controller would come out from the same side, and that the LED display was raised to the height of the relays.
One thing I really dislike is how fragile the wires for the sensors are. I ran the probe, and the NPT switch, and they use very small wire, and the connector on the NPT switch had constant issues of one wire coming off.
I only want to wire one fan what do i id with the blue #2 fan my manual book dont have anything about installing one fan only for 2 fan's.
Is there a way to connect this to a temp sensor in the intake manifold? a 5--to-15-degree variance is unacceptable.
If converting a fan clutch system to an electric fan, how do I fix or who do I talk to about fixing the dtc codes caused by the fan clutch😢. It’s the whole reason I want an electric fan.
I read something about plugging an arduino into the sensors to keep the ECU happy but where do I find an arduino maker?
Contact us directly via our website and we will be happy to provide detailed response, we have Automotive Engineers on staff that can assist.
I got one of these i installed it into my xg ute i followed an read the book for it it worked so i took my ute for a drive and got the temp up the fans didn't kick in then a few mins later the led screen turned off. I did not wire the ignition on the coil or ecu. Have i blow the unit?
Will I be able to install a manual override switch as well?
Yes you can. You can use the AC Trigger wire as an optional override.
To a toggle switch
What do i do if the fans will not turn off?
Does it matter if the ignition wire is connected to 12v or 5v ignition outputs
Must be 12V - 16V
Hey Davis Craig what's the temp difference between the water sensor and the sensor between the radiator fans
When the probe is installed in the fins of the core there will be a certain degree of temperature difference.
The exact temperature difference will vary depending on several factors, like ambient temperature, airflow and coolant flow through the radiator.
We estimate that there could be somewhere between 5 deg C and 15 deg C difference between the actual coolant temperature and the temperature of the radiator core.
This difference is by no means an inaccuracy but it does need to be accounted for when setting and reading the unit.
So the probe in the fins the temp is 5 degrees warmer than on the say manifold?
The probe in fins vs the npt on intake...which one more accurate? Thanks
NPT
Hi can I wire the EWP digital controller to control the thermatic fan switch? If so, then how?
The EWP Digital Controller can manage both the Electric Water Pump and Electric Fan, no need to use the Switch.
@@DaviesCraigPtyLtd But can I use the switch by having the fan switch AC wire spliced into the ign + and just wiring the fan switch ground into the EWP-fan relay GND wire ?? I wan't to use the 10 sec interval between turning the relays on to reduce instant amp draw on the alternator
Im doing this because the fan switch is always reading 60 degrees lower than the actual temp
Can this work still if my ac compressor have a leak and no ac ?
When you turn on your AC, you’re sending 12V to the compressor, depending on how your vehicle overrides operating the compressor when Freon is low will affect if they power on with AC.
But no, you don’t need functioning AC to use this controller.
Does this stay on even when car is off! Mines staying on while car off! Not fans but my switch I see blue even when off
No it does not, that is why that yellow wire is 12v ignition only.
Wired incorrectly, find a new source for 12V ignition
Wow 😂❤❤❤❤
DISTRACTING MUSIC!
Will this work with a PWM fan? Or the fan on my 2013 Jeep Wrangler?
This switch will simply turn the fan on and off at the desired temperature, not likely to work with a PWM fan. Regarding the Jeep fan, as long as the fan only has 2 wires, the switch should manage the fan. If in doubt, contact us directly via the website: daviescraig.com.au/contactus or +61 9369 1234
