This has to be my favorite video that you have put out and I have watched 75% of your videos. How Raw And honestly It came out can’t blame you for putting your safety first and for making the call nobody wants to make. This video truly puts perspective to the climbing world how ground guys need to be train more thoroughly On their knot skills basic common knowledge of running a portawrap . Thank you for putting content that most won’t!

“Any knot that’s not going to break my $700 saw”. 😅 After watching him kink the break line on the wrap 2 times while you were on the ground I would have packed all my shit in my Mazda 3 and rolled out. Wrapping is like riding a bike, not something you forget after a while of not doing it. Kudos to you for giving them a chance, only to be let down. 😞 Climbers get a bad wrap from ground guys such as these that make careless mistakes that can put your, their and the home owners life/property in harms way. I believe climber is only as good as his rope man. Always staying one step ahead of you and knowing where to go next. Glad you ended this job the way you did on “ non-personal” but personal terms man. You seem like a very grounded climber, no pun intended. Stay safe my friend.

Man I have a small tree service and I truly feel you mane it's like they don't care they just want a few bucks no regards to the damages of the equipment that cost alot but they didn't pay nothing for so they just don't care to them it's free and that's how some people are with other people's property. Also envy, hate and jealous I think be in some helpers heart. I'm the type of owner if you help me truly I will acknowledge it and give that same help in return because all business owners need good hearted employees to grow their company.

Been in your position. And your watching them make every move and then your not watching what your doing. The higher up the tree you go and you can hear the bumble fuckery on the mic but cant see them anymore it gets so damn sketchy . I got lucky as another friend came after I phoned him and he worked as a groundie for 15years and stopped because of poor health but atleast I knew I had someone below me that I could put my life on.
The job at the bottom is just as important as the job as the top . And more in most cases

Love this video man, Just shows you that theres guys out there that win bids and need to get someone else contracted in cause they're clueless. That guy couldn't even load the portawrap never mind tie on a saw. If in doubt tie as many overhands as you can after it. Its scary to think this guy is probably going to get some gear and try climbing a tree himself. Hes either gonna kill himself or cause some serious damage. You made the right call, get out there otherwise you would be leaving with 2 rigging ropes instead of 1 cause they would cut through it or no chainsaw left . Surprised they knew how to fill it up.
Would be good to see the other parts leading up to this point

I get it that dudes a dumb ass and can’t tie knots, I rig on off shore oil rigs so I understand the importance. You should have just clipped a carabiner to your rope and had him clip that into the rope itself to dummy proof it. I would have never left the ground before I saw him tie a clove hitch and bowline anyway. Stay safe bro.
