I've almost had a heart attack here. Last time similar emotions experienced during WCG games where Happy won. And these emotions are largely caused by insanely cool commentary by Neo and Remo, you guys just deserve a world recognition
its amazing to see what kind of game you have to play to beat happy in deserved way. Soin's armee movement and positioning was just insane, as well as his micro. I absolutely loved seeing his raider expressing constant threat by moving on back and forth on the edge of happys "insta kill" range. One of the most epic finals wc3 performances i have seen in years
Rewatching this - I skipped to randomly 1:15:00 and that just goes to show how many crazy plays and how often Soin had to be outbraining happy in this series just to get ahead. Happy is not just muscle memory perfect - he is extremely smart and tactical with thought process, which is actually why Remo loves him.
WTF that was the most insanely close sports show i have witnessed, since i dont know, the world cup final argentina vs germany? but far better commentating and far closer calls. What comebacks from Happy with basically 3 heroes and then what last minute TC TPs + fiend/destro kills. Like 3 games were clutch!
It's very rare to see happy struggle against an army composition this much. Soin played it perfectly and the orc's army dmg output is insane. 1 successful stomp and it was either a 100 to 0 DK or 3 fiends falling . Coiling fiends seemed useless, as the focus fire from trolls is so crazy that by the time coil animation had finished, fiend was already dead anyways. Happy couldn't take any engagement head on as the trolls focus fire would obliterate everything within seconds ! Being forced to coil nova the TC all time just to keep him away made the fight predictable for soin, as he would just tank the nukes and the orc army would vaporize the UD with higher dmg output. Happy needs a better army composition or something to beat this as the micro alone wasn't gonna cut it. The dmg superiority of the mass upgraded trolls + the super agroo play style of soin completely took the initiation and momentum from happy and he was always on defense ! Congrats to Soin. Well deserved win and astonishing performance !- ----------------------------------- One of the highlights of this series for me was, when happy bought rings from marketplace and put 3 rings on DK to keep him alive longer! How often you see happy this desperate to keep his hero alive ??!!
This grand final is epic! Orc vs Undead is definitely my favorite matchup. Soin deserves all the respect. He has never won any tournaments of this level before. And yet he beated Focus (Ranking 1st Orc), Happy (Ranking 1st player), Foggy (ranking 1st NE) and Happy again. He's like the last one anyone would imagine to take the champions before the tournament. Beautiful story！
Nailing those shop timings, adjusting creep routes to balance out harass with 2nd and 3rd hero leveling, controlling the DK's coil usage by threatening heroes and fiends at the same time to force unafovourable trades and finally, superbly timing the invuln+hex+stomp+raider nets to secure Lich kills. Yep, Soin checks out all of those boxes! Well played and well deserved. I still firmly believe that 15sui has it in him too and can aspire to such highsts himself.
37:26 To defeat Happy , Player have to be confident with his own decision weather it is correct or not. I think many players looks feel weak and pressure in game against Happy because opponent is Happy, that makes some hesitation, eventually miss chance that make advantage. 37:27 DK used Coil to TC for Attack and it takes just under 1 sec to decide use speed scroll and rush to kill Lich for Soin. It was very small gap but he has no hesitant.
A combination of emotionally involved commentators with highly professional players which is amplified by the greatness of the great game itself. Pure joy.
this was insane by Soin identifying how safe happy plays and being as greedy as possible at all times, his micro was on par with happy at all times, never over committing, never exposing his headhunters and kiting happy just like happy kites everybody else
I had to come back and rewatch this one. Caught it live in the middle of game 3 and damn, I have to say this is one if the best game series in the history of WC3, no exaggeration.
Since this video was posted, every time I opens UA-cam for fun, I would like to watch this video before anything else. Amazed by every detail of decision and execution of the players. Neo and Remo are fully immersed, too. Everything perfect.
soin is a high iq player. He baits out happy's destroy dispel with wolves then goes in with the net and hex. I think happy needs to keep the HH count lower with some strong mid game pressure

Surprising that , these new players do what the legends could not. That's is why never underestimate the new generation, they may look silly in the beginning but they always go farther than the previous generation. Who thought orc legends like Lyn, grubby can be surpassed? Also just look at chameiko ☺️
Great series! Would have loved to see Happy going for Pit Lord with Howl as 3rd hero instead for Lich. Lack of nuke but you reduce the dps very good and get another kind of tank. Then maybe also kinda easier to keep some banshees alive. And just before the next howl comes in - eat it with your destroyers for mass heal+damage. Dunno, just in theory....
Watching this again much later...amazing how every single game was competitive and action packed. Will we ever see this confident and strong Soin again?
I am always like "sheesh, these pros seem so confident, when they teleport, they move units kinda of far away from hero all the time for safety..." - great to see they sometimes miss ;)

Also Happy switched more to destro and lost dps. Interesting that Happy is pushing now DK 2nd and not Lich, I think he loses on dps at the end. Still epic games from both.
Yeah noticed how he makes way too much detros . Sometimes he does it just to save a statue but i think its better to let a statue die than to turn it to a hurt destro
I usually root for NE and I was pretty disappointed when Foggy lost, but that turned to happiness when I saw Soin finally dethrone Happy. He's showing a whole new level and it's about time

Possible spoiler !!!!!! Great match by both players. The key to orc beating happy intensive micro style is raiders. Raiders disrupt the micro kiting style that Happy uses to disrupt focus fire on his units. Well cast Neo and Remo.

It's true but DR second give you a strong timing which forces Orc to retreat. Happy struggled in several of early games, which forced him to go DR immediately to gain map control.

I feel like happy should have gone lich 2nd and DR 3rd to prioritize the nuke. There were a lot of close calls with the TC getting away.

Why soin doesn't go for walkers? Grubby tried walkers vs sheletons with Happy and that worked pretty well
