Thanks for watching the Golfalot Titleist AVX Golf Ball review - Спорт
As mentioned previously: I play the AVX to reduce side-spin on the driver and longer shots. To compensate for the lower trajectory on the driver, I’ve increased my driver loft by a degree or two. Not sure it’s perfect in all situations, but I’m very pleased with the ball and it’s performance.
That extra loft will just increase your spin again 😂
@@dbo4506 Not side spin. 🤣
I'm older and have lost speed and distance. For that reason, I can relate to your channel. I noticed your distances are closer to mine compared to the lads, who hit it forever. I am new, but subscribed and will be tuning in. Thanks for your efforts in this space.
Thanks for doing this review! Very helpful!
I started AVX golf ball since the first launch in the market. Giving me super excited distance and spin I want on green. The new generation of AVX is even greater for short game improvement. I am still using AVX and prefer AVX for priority.
Bot
I played AVX during 2021. I am a slow swinger who have been playing Tour Soft for long. I was hoping for more spin in the short game, but could see that. Talked to a Titleist representative and was recommended to try AVX. For me the longest ball I have ever played. And enough some spin in the short game. Looking forward try the 2022 AVX in comparison with Taylor Made Tour Response.
My goodness your golf swing is so simple and repeatable! Don't care which ball is better just love watching you hit shot after shot. Hopefully some of the images in my mind translate into my swing But Nice video too!
Great review!
Great video! Love this. Interesting however …… I get the opposite/ slightly different results. AVX around 500-700 RPM lower with driver and 6 iron and around 200/300 less with the wedge. I feel AVX certainly has reduced side spin with driver over the PROV1 (using GC2 & indoor ball testing) Driver CH speed 105-107👍🏼
excellent winter ball for left dash players
Nice review, thanks
I play predominantly on links Sophie so the lower spinning one would benefit me but I baulk at paying £52 for a box (not that I lose many) and currently have been using the Pro V1 or Srixon Q Star tour. Great vid
Such a great thorough review, thanks! I’m staying with ProV1
For many years I played off 7-8 h'cap using pro v1. I never had a fast swingspeed, averaged 98mph. Always used custom fit clubs. Around the time I turned 63-65yo I started to lose distance and swing speed dropped to about 90mph, h'cap went up to 10. As a retirement present I was custom fitted for PXG's. At the fitting we used pro v1 and avx balls. The avx was the best performer, been using it for the last 3 years, love it, great ball flight, great greenside control. Now 68yo and h'cap is still 10. Don't know if it's the avx balls or the PXG clubs or a mixture of both. I live in Fife, Scotland, almost always wind speeds of 15mph plus. The avx is a great ball in the wind. ( I have not purchased a new golf ball for at least 15 years, wouldn't pay the absorbitant price. I use GolfTrader(Fife) and buy mint grade avx balls at half the price of new balls).
AVX works for me at 78 mph driver speed.
Love your content. Can you do a vid testing the Autoflex shaft in the 405 and 505?
Enjoy your critiques! I am playing the Wilson Staff Duo Professional green and the Triad unpainted. Really like them both! Doesn’t it also matter about your club make up, irons that are designed to get the ball in the air could effect the flight of the AVX too right? Thanks
Been playing avx forever. Can't wait for the new model.
Great ball. Nice to have a different logo to tell the difference if you forget to mark it. Playing them for a couple years. Nothing but good things....
I play the AVX (2020 version) because I also swing at best 90mph, and wanted a low spin ball into the wind. Also, I heard the cover was more durable than a Pro V1, but I'm not 100% sure if that is true--- a yellow ProV1 would survive a nuclear strike. I will switch to a Pro V1 if the greens are really firm (usually July or August), but for the most part, I have sufficient spin to stop it on the greens.
I picked up a box of AVX last week and played them one round. I got a bit more distance but it was on the greens that the ball really helped me.
Longer on driver for me. Not a pro v 1 on short game though
All ways play the pro v1 but went to a Taylor made demo day to try the Stealth woods and got given some tp5x balls so trying them
Hi Sophie Great 😊 Video,I love your no nonsense testing,
I love that you say it as it is ,
Who is going to pay £50 for a dozen AVX Balls (answer) no one, I play ProV1X balls and
£12.50 a sleeve
Maths is clearly not your strong point,£12.50 a sleeve is the same as £50 a dozen.
Hi Chris spot on I was trying to make a point why would you buy AVX balls when you can buy ProV1 balls for the same price! (Which are a much better ball) Thanks 😊 Dickey
@@dickbroomer7877 Because they work better for me, that's why.
The AVX is the ONLY Titleist ball I have tried that I liked. I like a lower spinning ball with a soft feel so i will give these a try. I play Srixon Z star now and like the feel and distance I get. Thanks for the review!!
I just switched to the AVX from the Srixon Zstar xs divide. Love the AVX as my shot trajectory was too high and they feel really nice to putt! Really good distance from them too on all clubs. Plus they look great in yellow.
I made the same switch and have never looked back at Srixon.
Same here. Been playing Srixon XV & noticed with the AVX my dispersion was tighter as I spin the ball a lot. This ball is like playing a 2 piece urethane ball.
The 3 best balls for us slower swing speed players are the Bridgestone Tour B RX, TaylorMade Tour Response and Titleist AVX.
Honorable mention to Titleist Tour Speed
Yes maybe if you have deep pockets. $8.20 🇨🇦 each. Crazy how manufacturers feel that any ball is worth that. Marketing BS. Have you ever noticed that there is a new and improved piece of equipment coming out at least once every year.
Currently playing Srixon QStar tour, looking to move toProV1x to get higher flight with stop ability around the greens
YOU MUST TRY TOUR BXS, TIGERS BALL, Im only 97mph driver and this is by far best overall for me, PLEASE!
Played AVX last year and found them to be all right but the cover only lasted 18 holes. I’m a 64 year old 10 handicap swing speed with driver around 95. Tried the Bridgestone RBx and liked them as well. Not as soft as the AVX but longer off the tee.
Yeah, when you hit them down the cart path, Pete, they do scuff up a bit 😉
Bridgestone Tour B XS is the only ball for me now. Since swapping from Velocity to them I’ve had half a dozen consistent rounds under 100 so they must be making a difference to my game. 26 h/cap
Absolutely! Bridgestone Tour B RX for me (slower swing speed) and also the TaylorMade Tour Response are great too.
Velocity? Lol
@@tylerdurden7387 what's the point in spending 50$ on a ball that you can't utilize? Dumb dumb
one hell of a change, from a shit ball with no spin to one of the spinniest 🤠
Great swing!
Could you do a video AVX ball vs. Taylormades new Tour Response ball?
At 28 handicap I don't use an expensive golf ball at all, Sophie. I have tried to get an idea of difference between feel of the options. I have tried A Titleist Velocity, and a Titleist Toursoft. My club pro has suggested to me a Srixon AD333, which I have just got. I think they are harder though. I like a softer feel.
You may want to try the wilson staff a very soft ball , marketed as the "softest ball in the market" .
I also like the maxfli softfli ......very soft balls .
@@bronsonmcnulty1110 Thanks, I have moved on a lot since this post. I settled for the Wilson Duo Optix. My handicap is now down at 21.6 for my best 8. I am enjoying my current ball.
I play use to play the AVX with a fair a mount of lower spin than the ProV1. I think speed is required to get the best of the AVX compared to the Pro V1 or 1x. Due to poor availability I can't play them at this time. But dag gum It feels amazing of the putter and wedges.
Who’s to say that it’s on tour but branded as prov1. Seems a good ball for you Sophie.
Bridgestone tour BXS the best ball out there that not many people know about like the best kept secret , hope it stays that way too £30 a dozen . I used to play pro v1 but titleist are taking the piss out of the fan boys now at £52 a box . I can loose balls as good as anyone out there but it'd be like a bereavement losing a pro v1
I like this golf ball.
Play tour speed or tour soft but do like AVX and may switch.
I play the 1, sometimes will switch to the x. AVX is longer off irons, less spin, shorter off driver so no go. Left dash might be the same or shorter than 1 or x.
The RRP is the same but you can always get AVX slightly chepaer. I prefer the soft feel so would chose these over Pro V1 anyway
Nice 👍✅⛳️
AVX player. Price may change that though after just watching your review on Titleist TrueFeel
Pro 1 x left dash longest straightest with driver. Plenty of spin. Took time to get used to on the greens putting. Xs bridgestone next best. But lose 10 to 15 with driver for distance.
Another excellent well presented and thorough review so congrats on this.
I've tried but don't rate it. It's a lot shorter off the tee compared to Pro V1 for me. My take on it is that's designed for a higher swing speed than me at 96mph, for someone who wants a lower ball flight. At our club we only have 2 players that are buying them and they both have really high ball flight and swing speeds upwards of 115mph. Actually we only stock them for those guys and because we need to carry them as Titleist stockists. I'm surprised Titleist see a market for them.
Personally I'm switching between Bridgestone XS and Chrome Soft currently as I need a little more spin, too little spin and my dispersion suffers!
do titelist still have have to pay bridgestone for every sleve of prov they sell for nicking bridgestone's ball?
Have been playing ProV1 as the belief it’s the best ball for everyone. Recently was fitted for irons and switched my Prov1’s for their balls during the fitting. I was losing 5-6 yards every shot so we mixed them around to be sure of the numbers. Now I have 3 dozen ProV1’s I need to pawn off on my buddies to get my money back😂
What ball did you switch to ?
@@jherl8307 starting with TP5’s as that was what I hit at the fitting- I have medium speed so need a firmer ball- good luck
@@papashuk26 I’m in the middle of a dilemma so thanks for your feedback
The AVX is long but the Left dash is longer, Especially if you have a very fast clubhead speed.
Play the Left Dash. Find it firmer with higher compression which means for me it’s longer with the Driver. Spins around the green and the firmness off the putter is acceptable. Switch between that and TP5 Pix which is softer feeling and saves me having to put too many marks on the ball. Find ProV range tends to wear better than say TP5 and Bridgestone. Can get 18 holes done and the ProV Left Dash still look like new provided I have not clattered a substantial tree! 😂
I switch between Vice Pro+ and Pro V1x
For an average golfer, probably one or two yards improvement for either ball. Worth it?? Not for that bloody price.
Avx definitely longer with driver for me
Doesn't feel as good on short game though.
Best ball I've ever used the lower spin seems to stop me from losing them as much and they seem to go further than pro v1 which I just seem to lose all the time.
Really good in windy conditions aswell.
I don't have massive club speed
100 on absolute bestest swing
using AVX for about 8 years, more accurate then Pro v1 and stays straighter in the wind and they are 0n par with Pv1 as regards getting scruffed up.
I'm an AVX player and chose the AVX because I wanted a premium tour-quality ball with less spin on the driver and long irons -- specifically, to reduce side-spin in order to increase accuracy on less-than-perfectly struck shots. Not sure how I feel about the lower trajectory but I've always hit a relatively high shot and doubt I suffer from the lower ball flight. I also like the softer feel although the lower compression may come at a cost of a few yards here or there. In fact, on the course, I've not noticed a sacrifice in distance at all (previously I played the Pro-V1 and TP5x.)
Love Our Soph.... shame she's left Golfalot
How do you feel about the Pro V1?
TP5x
I would love to have your rythm.
Bridgestone e12
I love AVX... 95mph driver
the are to exspensive just like pro v1 its a shame titleist still have to rip us of
Callaway Supersoft is still the best!
Bridgestone Tour B RX
Absolutely! Bridgestone Tour B RX for me (slower swing speed) and also the TaylorMade Tour Response is great too.
Vice pro feels like a tp5 but much better price.
Titleist v1x
Ops sent before I finished there is no way I am paying £12.50 a sleeve for AVX Balls, When I can buy ProV1 & X balls for the same price,
Bought a sleeve of AVX balls (3years) ago very disappointed with there performance, not as good 👍 as either of ProV1 or X in any area or the game (Titleist you have made a pup) Again! Thanks Dickey
You realize there are variable swing characteristics between golfs right ? Some need higher launching -,some need lower launch - some need higher spin - some need lower spin … her swing is on par with most pros -- not a lot of mishits to even test. This ball is for the golfer that needs lower trajectories and lower spin and is not as consistent ( meaning side spin coming into play more often ) so for that player it’s either this AVX or or a Left dash V1X…. Both balls do not fit the majority of golf swings as most people need higher trajectory for instance
Hi Ryan thanks for taking the time to reply, I was so disappointed when I tried out the AVX Balls, I play on the coast where it’s very windy & thought they would be ideal, They just didn’t perform well for me, compared with the Pro V1 & Pro V1X, and was surprised to see Titleist bringing out a New AVX, Thanks again Dickey 9hcp 75year Senior Golfer UK
I have to laugh at the claims on these boxes, new and improved. It’s a miracle they could find an improvement. Have they found a miracle compound. Snell and Kirkland are just as good and a considerable price difference. For the average golfer it doesn’t matter.
The dimples look like a Bridgstone.

Left dash is higher trajectory avx is lower trajectory… both are for only minority of players needing less spin ….
AVX. Alternative to V X
You may have missed the mark a little but touched on it a few times.
AVX ( alternative to V and X) is right.
The difference in this ball is that it has the characteristics performance wise of the pro v1 and pro v 1x but is lower compression. Simply put, it works for us amateurs who have a pretty high club head speed but not quite elite speed.
For me it performes like but slightly outperforms the Bridgestone Tour BRX.
I get along great with prov1 and prov1x, but this ball outperforms them for me, I'm around 108-110 driver clubhead speed for reference.
I’m about 105 with my 9* stealth driver and this ball is a tracer bullet with great speed and perfect launch,I used to use the TP5x but launched that too high and spun that too much so I needed a change,if only TaylorMade made a ball that is the exact same as the AVX 🤔
When the AVX first came out it was a great ball, too bad Titlest "improved" it to a POS, I won't be buying any of these even with the buy 3 doz get one doz free!
What's inconclusive when you've got clear data in front of you...don't want to upset Titliest do we ?
pro v1 still.
If you can't brake 80 don't buy it, spend it on lessons folks.
My 5-6 iron same numbers as your driver carry.
Good lad Craig and your point is?
Your the man dude
Ok. so who is the ball made for?
