Interesting thing about that coverage: prior to this game,, the Broncos didn’t have the personnel to run it. They had the DBs who could play man, but not the ILBs fast enough to stay with RBs. Then they picked up Kenny Young and got Baron Browning back from injury. So the Cowboys didn’t have tape of the Broncos running this coverage and didn’t prepare for it.

But even with the loss, the only thing that really matters is the divisionals. Bc that’s what it will most likely come down to in the west. Still just glad we beat the cowboys. That was the one team I wanted them to beat.

Bears fan here, Vic Fangio aka the Evil Genius is the one and sole reason why the Bears have collapsed since 2018, since the offense was getting carried by his defense. Funnest year since 2012, only familiar disappointment since
I think its also some personnel changes and that the defense has to do so much when the offense loves getting off the field so soon. I think Sean Desai (the Bears DC and of the Fangio coaching tree) has been doing a great job himself there with what he has.
@@t4d0W Yeah I feel like people have forgotten that since 2018 we’ve lost a lot of our really elite secondary players. The only thing that has really stayed the same is Eddie Jackson, Roquan smith and the front 4.
It didn't help that when Vic left he took players with him basically and the ones that didn't go with him went elsewhere

Don’t forget that Dallas burned themselves too - Dak missed two wide open TDs to CeeDee, Wilson dropped a most likely TD, and Pollard also dropped a big gainer. The game would’ve been close even with the coverage changes.

But, in this particular game, he was going through his progressions too quickly and wasn't trying to get hit. 1:59 and 2:19 if Dak holds it for half a second longer he has Schultz and then Lamb for two HUGE gains because they had turned around their DBs. Dak wasn't under pressure either, just didn't trust his OL.
Throwback to when the Broncos shut out the mariota Titans which lead to tannehill coming in and never looking back, not to mention an afc championship birth. Don’t worry cowboys fans you guys will be fine

I think Denver's D played a solid game but definitely benefited from Steele getting abused trying to fill in for Tyron Smith, Dak missing several open long touchdowns, and receivers dropping several drive killing balls. Overall, I think Denver's D contributed to the reason that Dallas was never able to get in a rhythm but they sure had a lot of things go their way (blocked punt given back, etc.)

I mean if you’re going to talk about the Cowboys with a banged up o-line and an injured Zeke then you gotta talk about the Broncos playing with a decimated LB corp and only 2 starting o-linemen as well as no Noah Fant or Malik Reed. Literally the Broncos ILBs and OLBs for this game were 2 guys who were traded for 2 weeks ago (Steve Weatherly and Kenny Young) and 2 rookies (Baron Browning and Jon Cooper). Even though Dak sucking contributed a lot to the outcome of the game, a lot of credit goes out to the Broncos offense and defense for pulling off the upset with such a banged up team.
Baron Browning had a nice PBU in this game too!

As an European, while I like to watch shitshow like The Herd or Skip&Shannon, you're clearly my favorite content creator NFL-wise. Thanks for all I've learned watching your vids. If I could be nitpicking, I'd say that the constant zoom-in/zoom-out when you talk is kinda taking me out of the video sometimes, other than that, it's perfect, and thanks again.

Good breakdown. As for your question about what Broncos fans want, I can tell you that a clean sweep of the NFC East is pretty much at the top of my list.

Everyone talks shit on the division, and rightly so, BUT the old adage "any given Sunday" is true AND the NFCE is not devoid of talent, especially on D. Dallas laid an egg, Washington has offensive issues (I'm sure you can relate here), Philly is maddeningly inconsistent (and a bit underrated. Have a losing record, yes: but had close game's against good teams and have only been blown out once) and the New York Football Giants.... well, there's your gimme. Just don't blow it.

Don't know what any of these words mean but I love how you break down these games.
This loss really boils down to bad O Line play. Reason Dak was running for his life, and the reason we couldn’t run. The failure to block A Gap and the Mike, at the second level was why we lost. Kellen Moore also failed to adjust, which seems to be his Achilles Heel. Was interesting, all last year McCarthy sat back and let Kellen hang himself. That’s what happens when the front office force feeds a Coordinator down the HC’s throat. I don’t think McCarthy likes the way Kellen calls plays!
On a cover 1 rat, if the RB stays in pass pro ; I would assume 1 linebacker would add pressure and 1 would drop as a hole player, if so how to determine which one does what?

I really wish you would do a video on Jared Goff. I'm sure it would be a video with less views that usual, but many Lions fans are at a loss. Nobody that I knew felt like we were upgrading over Stafford after that trade, but we did think we would be able to potentially rebuild some of what Goff was in 2018. This year really feels like he has zero confidence, cannot get off his first read, doesn't trust his receivers even when they are schemed open, has issues with navigating in the pocket and just generally seems flustered. He almost never throws the ball deep even when he does get those man to man option. Trust me no Lions fans expected us to win a bunch of games, we knew we were a top 10 pick likely top 5 pick type of team going into the season. I think it's easy to point out the lack of weapons for Goff, but even then the guy has no chemistry seemingly with Hockenson. On a similar note I have felt like going back to that Super Bowl loss that many had figured out McVay schematically and that led to some of the regression from Goff during his time there. It seems like this year the dude got some fancy weapons and a gunslinger and just doubled down on his passing scheme. He looks like he goes away from the running game quickly and then has asked an inferior OL to pass block a ton rather than what the scheme was in previous years of play action stuff and moving the pocket to take those shots. Maybe you can combine the two theories or topics into one video? Either way love the content, keep it up.

The biggest problem from what I saw was that Dak went through his reads way too quickly.
At 1:58 he has time in the pocket, and Schultz gets open way downfield but Dak had already thrown it to Coop. That's an easy first down and THEN some if he just doesn't panic.
Same thing at 2:19. Lamb gets open right as Dak throws but Dak's already thrown the ball despite not being under pressure. Again, easy first down.
2:33 he could've tried a shot at Wilson to the right side as he would've been open, but he was under pressure here and would have been sacked.

I wanna believe any college or NFL game on TV will mandate the winnings team's defense to use soft zone coverage if they get up by x amount of points in the 4th quarter.
I think a factor that played into the cowboys miscues was Denver’s offences ability to control the ball and the clock. After the first two or three drives pressure was on the cowboys to score fast. This feels like a cowboys lost, not a broncos won video. Slightly sour taste but I’ll take the dub 100% of the time.
Dak has a habit of locking in on a receiver per play and ignores seeing the rest of the field, it’s been like that for a few seasons now, he seem to only use his spider senses when we’re playing from behind (that’s where the stats come from). I’m a Cowboys fan. When he got hurt we weren’t winning 🥇 games.

Before this whole Aaron Rodgers debacle, most broncos fans would tell you they are all on on Rodgers for next year. Now, I don't know what I want
Falcons played the same coverage and got ran out of the building. More of a problem with moving Steele to LT and not giving him the help he needed early on. They changed that against the Falcons. La'el Collins was rusty..has always had issues with setting too deep and getting flat footed.
Dak was rusty because of the calf injury and wasn't accurate on the run (although I thought he was decent). Then they had a series of big drops from Cooper, Pollard, etc.
Those went away and they cleaned some things up and the game was over by halftime against a 4-4 Falcons team.
Shit happens in the NFL.
