My top 10 is 1. Tiletum 2. Clank! Catacombs 3. Lacrimosa 4. Wayfarers of the South Tigris 5. Atiwa 6. Endless Winter Paleoamericans 7. Carnegie 8. Caper Europe 9. Viticulture World 10. Mille Fiori
I am just now tabling Tiletum and making my way through the solo mode. Getting the hang of it and am loving the game! I want to teach it to my friends next.
Very nice! It looks absolutely stunning and full of content! I hope to be able to experience more of the Everdell expansions in the future! I've only play Bellfaire. 😊
Flamecraft. I played it last weekend with my wife and daughter and we love it. We were so happy just playing around and didnt really care about who wins. Always enjoy your taste of games :))
Great list, Jenna! My top 3 games for 2022 were Marvel Dice Throne, Ready Set Bet, and Clank Catacombs. Two more that I haven't tried yet, but I'm fairly certain will be among my favorites when I do, are Turing Machine and Planet Unknown.
Again, this channel introduced me new games I've never heard before. Thank you. I like Isle of Cats; can't wait to try this version and the beast expansion.
Wayfarers of the South Tigris is sooo great! Love the tableau building and that since of exploring. It's not complicated, but you have to be as efficient as possible, especially in solo mode. I love it!
Great list! My favorite game published in 2022 was Planet Unknown. I got Twilight Inscription over the holidays but have yet to try it. My favorite expansion of 2022 was Dune Rise of Ix (love Dune imperium).
Great list! Your thoughts on games are eerily similar to my own. I sadly haven't been able to get Merchants of the Dark Road to the table yet (Don't judge me 😁). Some other enjoyable games from 2022 that I would recommend: Caesar's Empire, Ready Set Bet, Long Shot: The Dice Game, Next Station: London, Planted: A Game of Nature & Nurture.
Congrats on your patron starting up so successfully, great to see creators kicking goals. So many games coming every year, it is hard to keep up - and you showed me several that hadn't come across our table. Look forward to seeing more of your content - already heading over to your looking forward to in 2023. My wanting to try from 22 definitely headlines Heat and Lacrimosa.
Love Merchants of the Dark Road! My favorite game of 2022, however, would be My Father's Work, I think. So thematic and well designed. Astronomy is the science of celestial objects, space, and the physical universe as a whole. Astrology also deals with celestial bodies, assuming that their movements have some kind of mystical or metaphysical influence (including signs of the zodiac), but it is not a science. Is that a Wolf Pack shirt? Tim would love to see it! Thanks for the interesting list. Such good selections from the past year!
Enjoyed watching this with my morning coffee, although I almost choked when you said lucky dump games 😂 the Canadian board game oracle site lists a couple of places twilight inscription is available, but lots pricier than normal…
Great list, there’s a lot there I want to try! For me, it’s: Marvel Dice Throne, Flamecraft, Paint the Roses, Mission Catastrophe, Mythic Mischief, and Wild:Serengeti
Yeah I do really love the tactile feeling of The Isle Of Cats! E&D is quicker to play and easier to get to the table though. So I love that I now have both. I have a choice depending on my circumstance and energy level.
guess what's on my table right now, ready to be played (after I have read the rules of course)..? yep, wayfarers of the south tigris! :D looking forward to it.. really loved the west kingdom trilogy and also love raiders of the north sea (haven't played the other two of this first trilogy..). you have such a great voice, I cannot not repeat that part.. ^^
Ahh! I need to get Twilight Inscription to the table at Alex's next visit. We meant to last trip but it never materialized. Glad you like it :) Also, I'm ashamed I haven't played Wayfarers yet.
I love how your taste in games is mine as well! ❤ I recently got Three Sisters and loving it! Can’t wait to try Motor City. Flamecraft and Creature Comfort are definitely cozy games that i enjoy. Looking forward to play Wayfarers since its getting so many good reviews
My favorite games that came out in 2022 were: Marvel Dice Throne, Dead Reckoning, and Wonderland’s War (with Paint the Roses as an honorable mention). I love Marvel and adding that IP to the game made me excited to back it on Kickstarter and I’m so glad I did. We even played the dungeon crawler version of Dice Throne (Adventures) with 4 Marvel characters and it was so much fun. I’m a sucker for a good pirate themed anything haha, but the mechanics and exploration/pirate-y things you could do was so much fun. And the art, tokens and theme of Wonderland’s War was incredible. Paint the Roses is fun - and hard - but my brother got the deluxe version which adds a lot, and the extra missions is actually where we had a little more success with winning and added a lot more fun to the game. Thanks for your wonderful videos!
Not planning on trying Carnegie? I am about to try it on BGA to see if I want to invest in the physical version. My fave 2022 game is probably…Weather Machine with Turing Machine as a close and totally different second (though in all honesty I haven’t played many 2022 titles because I try to avoid the cult of the new) to save my wallet🤣. Most intrigued to check out Encyclopedia, Lacrimosa, Twilight Inscription and Carnegie but can’t decide which to try first. As always, thanks for what you do!
Dungeons, Dice & Danger was a fun experience for us, but alas... it didn't have staying power compared to some of the heavier roll'n'writes like Fleet, or Welcome to the Moon (and Three Sisters is still on my list of games to get!). But I did just get a copy of Astra in and am very excited to get it to the table; my partner and I enjoy roll'n'writes-or "verb"'n'writes, I guess I should say-and she loves space, so the theme is right up our alley.
Some games I enjoyed this past year (not sure if these are all 2022 releases): Large player count: Long Shot: The Dice Game Card game: Winter Solo: Final Girl Euro lite: Catherine: Cities of the Tsarina Euro: Tiletum Not sure what category this fits into: Wonderland's War A game that I still want to play from 2022: Planet Unknown
Endless winter is great. Turing Machine is now on my grail games list, can't find that sucker anywhere. Wonderland's War is getting rave reviews as well, gonna see if I can find that somewhere to play with people.
nice list Jenna! would have been interesting to hear what made you like Paint the Roses especially in comparison to other co-ops, which you normally don't like. Or is it because your last name is "Rose"? :D
AHAHAHA! I do really love the theme and the fast that its called Paint The Roses. 😂 But gameplay wise I think it is because it is co-op but you still have your own hidden thing and on your own trying to get your group to guess your whim card. Also deduction is one of my favourite mechanisms so that helps it. Another one I enjoyed was Decorum and that was on the same lines. You have your own hidden thing and it's deduction. 👍🏻
I tried looking for a list of games that you've talked about or recommended, but couldn't find one, so I'm sorry if you've talked about this before. Have you ever heard of or tried Dungeon Mayhem? It is the #1 game that me and my boyfriend always take with us whenever we're invited to a gathering with friends. It is so easy to learn and play, and there are two expansions for it that add an extra 8 character decks to the original 4, for a total of 12 playable decks. It's released by Wizards of the Coast (which I know is everyone's favorite company right now -___-), but I couldn't recommend a game more.
I enjoyed it! It is quite the challenge but I enjoy that challenge. I do find it very difficult to attack a monster on the first turn though. I have thought about house ruling that the first turn you don't have to. 👍🏻
So much I still want to play. But my top 3 from 2022 are Dead Reckoning, Marvel Dice Throne & Flamecraft. Top 3 I've got to get to the table are Merchants of the Dark Road, Perseverance, & ISS Vanguard
I played several games of Twilight Inscription and personally found it underwhelming. However, my friend really got into it and enjoyed the game from the first time we played. He enjoyed it for what it was whereas I was hoping for more of a Twilight Imperium feel or at least a 4x feel. If you do try it don't play a 2 player game. Play it with 3. The game was more enjoyable, especially with conflict and negotiation.
You should check out boardgameoracle.com . It shows you were in Canada there is stock for board games, so you should be able to find twilight inscription that way... Also shows where the best deals for board games are in Canada.
Long shot was a disappointment to me. Too much heads down play and not enough craziness that I was expecting. Haven't tried ready set bet though yet maybe that will work
Great list! My favorite 2022 games include Stonewall Uprising, a deck builder focused on the LGBTQ+ Civil Rights Movement; Nemesis Lockdown, follow up sci fi horror game set on a Mars base; and Horizons of Spirit Island, an easier entry into the solid coop with 5 new low complexity spirits.
I personally found Flamecraft to be too simplistic for the kind of game it is supposed to be, and it bored me to tears. Wayfarers though, yes, just yes, I love every game that Renegade has put out. If you haven't tried Woodcraft yet, it is amazing. Woodcraft, Lacrimosa, and Wayfarers are my top 3 of 2022.
2022 wasn't been a strong year for me. Partly because I haven't played a ton of 2022 releases, but that's partly because I haven't been drawn to many of them. My best 2022 release is Marvel Remix. Runner up is Star Wars Clone Wars. Unlike you, I'm a big fan of co-ops.
What an excellent list! Thanks so much for mentioning Green Team Wins.
Thank you Nathan! No problem at all! Love your game! 😊
Thanks for putting Tenpenny on the list! :) That's hilarious it was at Ten & your dog is named Penny!!!
No problem Nate!! Thank you so much for watching! 🥰
@@TheBoardGameGarden Of course! Thanks for the great content always!

I developed this variant to keep it simple and manageable, but still challenging
Ohhh I think I need to add Tiletum to the list! 😊
Update: I played Federation some days ago and it's my new number 1 of the year. I still have to play Revive to see where it ends up
I bought the Everdell Complete Collection and it is totally worth it for me. I love learning the expansions and playing both solo and with others!
Very nice! It looks absolutely stunning and full of content! I hope to be able to experience more of the Everdell expansions in the future! I've only play Bellfaire. 😊
Still have base everdell on my shelf of shame
@@TheBoardGameGarden The mistwood expansion is great for solo play!
Great list again Jenna! I see you have 12.3K subscribers now... someone is 'trending' 😉... Keep up the good work!
Flamecraft. I played it last weekend with my wife and daughter and we love it. We were so happy just playing around and didnt really care about who wins. Always enjoy your taste of games :))
Just got into games in the last couple of days of 2022 and I’m already obsessed - will be adding some of these to my list 😍
AHHH! YAY! Welcome Andrea! So excited for you to discover more games and experience this amazing hobby. 🥰
Glad to see I'm not the only one starting in the end of 2022😂
Great list, Jenna! My top 3 games for 2022 were Marvel Dice Throne, Ready Set Bet, and Clank Catacombs. Two more that I haven't tried yet, but I'm fairly certain will be among my favorites when I do, are Turing Machine and Planet Unknown.

People keep talking about Isle of Cats E&D but I like the tiles… not sure I need both but who knows. It is a much smaller box lol.
Yeah I do really love the tactile feeling of The Isle Of Cats! E&D is quicker to play and easier to get to the table though. So I love that I now have both. I have a choice depending on my circumstance and energy level.

Twilight Inscription is available on Gamenerdz and Miniature Market right now, though low stock on GN. Hoping to try that one too, looks interesting!
Unfortunately neither of them ship to Canada or at least my address in Canada. Thank you though!
Some games I enjoyed this past year (not sure if these are all 2022 releases):
Large player count: Long Shot: The Dice Game
Card game: Winter
Solo: Final Girl
Euro lite: Catherine: Cities of the Tsarina
Euro: Tiletum
Not sure what category this fits into: Wonderland's War
A game that I still want to play from 2022: Planet Unknown
Endless winter is great. Turing Machine is now on my grail games list, can't find that sucker anywhere. Wonderland's War is getting rave reviews as well, gonna see if I can find that somewhere to play with people.

How did you feel about the solo mode of dungeons dice and danger. I found the rule that you have to attack every turn weird and difficult
I enjoyed it! It is quite the challenge but I enjoy that challenge. I do find it very difficult to attack a monster on the first turn though. I have thought about house ruling that the first turn you don't have to. 👍🏻

My top three of the year are Frosthaven, Oathsworn and Endless Winter. I still need to play Massive Darkness 2, Lacrimosa and Heat.

Still scared to bring Twilight on to the table haha 😂. I played and enjoyed The isle of cats and I'm looking forward to getting Flamecraft.

how and where do people keep up with new releases of board games?
Astrology is fairy tales, astronomy is science. Simple :)
Thank you!! 👏🏻
Twilight Inscription is available on Amazon and yes, it's an amazing game
Unfortunately not here in Canada. Plus board games on Amazon in Canada are SO expensive! 🥺
Catherine: The Cities of Tsarina gets my vote for Game Of The Year. Runner up: Longshot The Dice Game.
We love Catherine. Content creators never talk about it. Great game (though I'm terrible at it). Also, Long Shot is so much fun!
Long shot was a disappointment to me. Too much heads down play and not enough craziness that I was expecting. Haven't tried ready set bet though yet maybe that will work
