- The town of Superior is on the way to Globe, Arizona east of Maricopa County. This town has 300 gallon containers scattered around businesses, hotels, and even parks not to mention in alleyways. Republic Services is the sole collector of this town, with the operator behind the wheel being the only driver up there four days a week regularly. The town of Superior, and Black Canyon City are the only places in AZ that have Republic picking up 300s. Outside of the state of AZ I doubt its common at all.
The unit documented is a 2004 Mack MR Heil Rapid Rail and is an Ex Paradise Waste Truck. Utilized as the spare on this day, the operator's regular unit is a Peterbilt Heil Rapid Rail. Huge thank you to the operator for making this video possible, one of the best I've met for sure!

Awesome video! Always enjoy watching these diesel Macks in action. Fun truck too, definitely enjoyed the video on a whole new level because of the lid flipping! Crazy 300 lines in the city, I hardly see so many at one location! Did they recently roll out automated carts to the city? It seems like most of the carts were relatively new. Man you got lucky catching this truck, definitely enjoy seeing these old Macks way more than the new stuff! Great find!

I''ll just say this truck was not meant for 300s lol. I did like those lines however. Really nice growl and engine grind on the takeoffs. The packer sounds like it could use some WD-40 as well. I'm glad to finally see this!

I have have been looking forward to this video since you posted a picture on Flickr, and it did not disappoint. The clip at 11:42 is amazing with the black smoke and the background. I'm glad the route has both 300 and 96 gallon carts, the Rapid Rail packer seemed to keep up with the 300 gallon carts pretty good towards the beginning of the video. The manual packing towards the end of the video sounded great. I'm glad you were able to find it considering it is a spare. Great find Refuse Arizona and another great video from you.

wow this is definitely my favorite video out there. I used to live out in Apache junction, and there was a truck that sounded like this one. but it was green instead. do you know were this truck normally runs??
Wow right on! Yes this truck used to be green at one point, there is green paint on the back end of the arm. It actually doesn't run regularly but is a spare. Thank you for the comment!
Refuse Arizona wow it's crazy that it's a spare now. do you know why they had these trucks in green? I know a lot of residents didn't like how there trucks said AJ waste, when there garbage cans said ABC Disposal
Paradise Waste used to own this truck prior to being bought out by Allied Waste.
Is it ok to piss in a container in the truck, if you can't get to a restroom somewhere?
It’s easier in the stand ups but they only have stand ups in rear loads out here.
Nice, we have a truck like but with a Mack MRU and has the original Republic color.
