Hey Gorilla, big fan of your videos. I've watched several other people's videos of trike launches and many just go full throttle from wing on the ground all the way to airborne (dont think thats correct) and i've noticed you always say "roll throttle" and yo dont seem to yank on it all the way to full at once. Care to elaborate a little on your launch process if you have a minute please ? TIA
Well thank you so much for your support and kind words! The role on throttle phrase comes from launching lightweight trikes that don't have real strong hoops. We roll on throttle slowly so that's right doesn't leap Forward and put a great deal of pressure on the hoop and net. This can actually pull the hoop back so much the prop strikes it. We still use it even on the bigger stronger trikes because it makes for a more even and smooth inflation rather than the wing jumping off the ground and then slightly falling back before it continues up. I try to teach my students that every flight has to start with a controlled inflation and taxi.
There is a story/video I have seen of a PPC that took off with no pilot on board. Flew to an altitude that engine would no longer run... floated down and landed in a field. No damage to machine wing or any property.
Yeah, that was nuts!! I found that vid back when I was researching paramotors. I thought I recalled hearing the electronics recorded a max height of 18,000 feet - I could be totally wrong on that - I'll have to search that incident again. That was CRAZY! I can't imagine the dread that pilot must've felt watching his craft leave without him!!
That was great! 1st time seeing anyone try that on video. I noticed when training with you that the wheel is DEFINITELY more effective in controlling the wing / trike alignment for a good launch. Made all the difference. Before I got down there, I was struggling and not making much progress, and that was a big part of it. That stick cam worked great! Nice!
Good job mouth breather lol . I tried T&G's once without brakes I did good right to the point I turtled. I do have a video of it I'm not making shit up.

Nice video Rick. It's always good to have these videos for students, as you mentioned, so you can show them. Nice touch to the school.
