- Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan clashed with his German counterpart Frank-Walter Steinmeier over the Israel-Hamas war, with Erdogan accusing the West of siding with Israel while "Gaza has been completely razed to the ground". Steinmeier, who has had a tricky relationship with the Turkish leader and has been quick to call out Erdogan's approach towards Israel, replies by condemning Hamas's October 7 attack, saying that "without October 7 the war in Gaza and the Middle East would not be taking place".
