    Great video of diesel action at the Illinois Railway Museum on 9 August 2019. Lots of passenger train action. Thanks for sharing!

    I was volunteering there on the 9th as an assistant trainman. I was on the 12:45 Coach Train at 8:26, 9:15, & 10:26 and the 3:45 Bilevel at 29:30 & 30:01.
    (There's me at 9:24 & me waving at 11:52.)

    There's foam coming out everywhere. A TTI UBOAT, 21, 118C, 1 & 2?! Shame they didn't run the larger engines this year. Probably not enough crew members.

    At 2:33, I saw YELLOW coaches behind BN #5383 and TTI #260! Does anyone know, WHEN we might see them being used?
    I wonder how long it will take, before they hit YOU TUBE!
    Who will be the first to post them?

    1:53 will they ever use engine 21, it haven't been used since the 1990s and at 2:21 will they use the amtrack aem-7

      TheTrainExpert unfortunately the Amtrak AEM-7 is only going to be on display due to the wire voltage but I think they should restore it

    • @TheTrainExpert
      @TheTrainExpert 3 роки тому

      @@LJRailfan-Gamer_07. I don't think 945 will ever under her power again, since those AEM-7's takes a lot of power and the line can only handle the trams, 6930's prime movers are seized and probably will never work again, the cab works though and thats pretty much it.

    • @TheTrainExpert
      @TheTrainExpert 3 роки тому

      @@LJRailfan-Gamer_07. that's probably the only solution, they did use 6930 before for passenger back in 2005 with SP 1518 doing all the pushing. (Keep in mind the prime movers were still seized back in 2005 and they are still seized to this day)

      @@LJRailfan-Gamer_07. I think the IRM Voltage is not compatible with the AEM7 they also have a restored GG1 there and the same thing goes for that it is only a static display but stored indoors. The Baldwin Center cab is the last one in existence.
      The MBTA GP9 I think was only bought as a parts donor for their other 3 early GP7's and 9's I think that was an ex GT unit. There is a video of it somewhere of 3 of them together from Diesel Days one year but the MBTA unit was Dead in tow. You sent me a reply yesterday about the GE picture somehow it got accidentally deleted B4 I had a chance to read it so send it to me again. I forgot to mention they also have GE built UP Turbine 18. One of only two left. Bruce Wallace

    The picture of the 3 GE's at 2:40 is incredible. GE should use it in some Corporate Propaganda piece about their products

      That is a Great still photo now if IRM ever finishes the restoration of their Milw U25B that would complete the photo and should be used on the cover of the GE Annual Report. The AEM-7 was a Swedish design and built by nearby EMD under license.

      @@LJRailfan-Gamer_07. I think it is 5056 there was another one at a Museum in CA but because it had no CA lineage they let some Museum in OR or WA have it. If you dig around the IRM website you can see pictures of it in their shop but I don't think it is a big priority for them. There are also photos of it on one of those Rail Photo websites of when it was sitting in a Milwaukee WI scrapyard before they acquired it.

      @@LJRailfan-Gamer_07. Now if they ever finish the restoration of their Milw U25B, and if UP ends up donating the C44-9W C&NW twins that stayed in C&NW paint for 20 years after the UP merger however they are now painted in Armour yellow. UP would have them store them whenever there would be a traffic downturn and they would send them there for safekeeping a lot of people think when retired they will end up at IRM. They also have their restored South Shore Little Joe Electric. Now that would be a great GE Photo.
