  • Use the 1-250 Hz Sweep setting on the ACTIVet PRO and slowly scan along the affected area to increase blood flow and generate ATP and new cells for a more complete healing. Clients can do at-home treatments with Setting #2 (250 Hz) on the My Pet Laser.

Hi, we're back talking about protocols with the ACTIVet PRO laser and we'll start with the ACL. These cruciate injuries, tendon injuries really benefit a lot from laser therapy. It's going to get more blood flow, more ATP, all the things that are needed to help that healing happen faster and much more completely.
So first off we'll start with the PRO, and by the way Chance is our laser dog today and he's just been really wonderful and really nice and chill. I think giving him the Unwind Protocol helped. So we're gonna start and of course we always use the Unwind Protocol if the dog is anxious or especially if it hasn't had laser before.
So we'll say No to the self test, we'll select the ACTIVet PRO setting, we'll come up to 1-250 Hz which is our great protocol for this type of an injury. We'll put it up to 2 minutes and just press the power.
The reason we like 1-250 Hz is because this is a Sweep frequency, and the Sweep prevents tissue adaptation. If we're just using 1 frequency all the time or if all we had was 1 wavelength all the time, the tissue can become adapted to that and become less responsive.
So when we're using 1-250 Hz, you can actually imagine the frequency going wooop, wooop, it's not a sine wave, but a sawtooth, and we found through the research that was the most effective way to treat these types of injuries.
So just scanning along the surface, about a centimeter per second, all around the area of the injury. Now you as a vet are going to know when it's time to do surgery but oftentimes, pre-surgery, these can be treated and make the animal much more comfortable if it's not ready for surgery yet. Now of course post-operatively, laser is a really wonderful thing to use, especially in these older animals, maybe their metabolism is not what it used to be, maybe they're not as active as they used to be. So using laser, a centimeter per second, along these tendon injuries, is a great way to improve your outcomes.
And as you can see, there's no issue of anxiety or a pain response with this animal at all. Chance is loving it, feels really good, and you're getting all those nice healing properties of the 660 nm, the 875 nm and the 905 nm wavelengths, all working synergistically to give you incredible outcomes.
Now what happens when that animal goes home and could continue to benefit, but they have a hard time getting in to see you once or twice a week? Well that's where the My Pet Laser comes in and extends the therapeutic benefits of your practice to the home. We press the power button down, we change this to 250 Hz, and just press the power button.

Hi Ed, Multi Radiance Super Pulsed Lasers are Class 1M devices, meaning they are in the safest laser class per the US FDA. Protective eyewear comes with each laser purchase and is optional for the operator, though not required like it is for other high powered therapeutic lasers.
