- How do you program your drone to fly like it was on autopilot? The DJI Mini 3 Pro has the ability to fly a pre-programmed path with what are called Waypoints. You have to be in the Hyperlapse mode to use Waypoints, but once you try it, I feel that you will be making many Hyperlapse videos with Waypoints.

The bike mount is crucial thanks. I have a similar set up but I added the freewell ND PL filters.
Also you might want new links for the neck strap and RC control sticks.
I just learned to start the time-lapse in reverse once I am finished to save my battery. Pretty cool to see a Sac Town Homie on UA-cam. I can't wait to try this out. Thaks for the video!

YES! I was so wound up man. The battery was so low it would not let me maneuver the drone away from the canopy.
@@GeoffBrabecDronesTech yikes; I noted the battery level upon completion and was on the edge of my seat when you went into review while still in the sky... I was like "no, no, bring er home..." lol. hopefully all is well!
Yes all is well. I used two of my mono pod camera sticks attached together and fully extended to poke the drone from below. I was able to work it slowly back down. A couple of guys passing by helped snag it for me too.
I felt like an idiot for not watching the percentage and time left on the battery. In the end when I got the drone back I saw that I installed the standard battery and not the plus battery. On hyperlapse videos I prefer to use the extended plus battery and I thought I had done that on this flight. I was so wrong. 😞😬
@@GeoffBrabecDronesTech i hear ya; the battery drain on the Hyper can be much. Another good thing with waypoints to potentially save on the battery is to set (fly reverse) then it just backtracks the shots if you've set a long course or want to avoid coming back in the wind.

I am editing the video for a Saturday morning release.
✅ After you launch your drone, switch to camera and go to Hyperlapse as usual.
✅ Choose the Zig Zag Manual Waypoints feature on the bottom of the list
✅ Choose start Waypoints and when it opens with the plus simbols to strart a new Waypoint stop there
✅ On that same menu you will see 3 dots on the upper left hand corner. Simply tap on that and you will find your previous saved Waypoint Sessions.
FYI: All of this is from memory as you have to launch the drone to get through all of the said steps and I do not have it documented anywhere else.

You can make as many Waypoints as you like, but the drone will give you a warning if the remaining battery life is insufficient to complete the run.
✅ 12 waypoints is the most I have been able to do on one battery (The DJI Plus Battery = 41 min.)
✅ If you have enough batteries, use one battery to program your waypoints and then switch out to a fresh battery to do your recorded run.
✅ In my next video post (hope to have out in a week), I show how to use “Saved” waypoints. DJI Fly App saves your programmed waypoints automatically.

Do Waypoints only work in hyperlapse on the Mini 3 Pro?
Yes, you are correct. The Mini 3 Pro is limited to Hyperlapse mode in order to utilize the Waypoints capabilities and features.
Do you reckon this might work with the DJI air 2s
Yes, You might even find the Air 2S has a steadier shot due to its weight and power. Just be cautious as the battery life of the Air 2S is nothing compared to the Plus Battery of the Mini 3 Pro.
Have you ever experience a lot of difference in the starting waypoint you set/save, and then one it actually carries out upon record? I've seen some variance recently which is getting annoying.
There is some variance for me to. So far I am okay with how little it varies. There was one case where the I commanded the drone to execute a previously recorded hyperlapse and it went to the appropriate starting point but was facing the wrong direction. I had to cancel it and tell it to start over and it did correct itself on the second attempt.
