Thank you so much for this tutorial. I just bought the giraffe pattern and thought i could not figure out the color changes. But this makes it so clear I think i can do it. Beautiful pattern. Thank you!
I'm really enjoying your channel. I did one teeny tiny Mosaic crochet project this past Christmas season and I'm totally intending to try it again. I'm definitely coming back to your Channel / patterns because of your logic and unique techniques when I'm ready to give it a go again
Hi Heather. I'm excited to see its a carry like I do in reg Chet. Yay! Lol but I can't hemp but notice your ability to look at your chart and show the blue line to hero track of what your doing. I'm hoping you have shared info or you can in the program or🤷♀️ that you use. What ever it is that gives you the ability to do this. LOVE IT!! TY in advance for you help. 🤗
Hi Kathleen-I'm not sure I understand your question. The lines alternate color each row because it's mosaic overlay crochet and that is the basis of the mosaic crochet technique. I have several videos available for the beginning concepts of this style of crochet. I hope that answers your question-but if not, please feel free to reach out again! ☺
What program are you using so you can follow the pattern on a tablet with that blue line to keep you in place. I am just learning and your video is great. Thanks Teresa
Hi Elaine-I wouldn’t use this technique for more than 2 colors because the back of the project will start to get bulky if you’re burying too many strands of yarn. I would either add the 3rd color at the spot you want to use it and weave in the ends, or I would consider using bobbins. I don’t have a video on using bobbins-but there are many on UA-cam if you do a search. It’s not my favorite technique, but it is a way to use multiple colors.
@@heathernobledesigns yes I was looking at testing a cup of hot cocoa that has a heart on one cup and a tree on the other. With the cocoa being colored and topping with marshmallows. Thank you for your prompt reply.
Hi Lizzie! BS stands for Border Stitch. In mosaic overlay crochet, each row starts with a new color with the yarn cut at the end of the row. The border stitch is a secure way to keep the yarn from coming lose and unraveling.
I see you see using a tablet program that allows you to dynamically mark your place in a row. What app is that please? Although I've been crocheting for 65 years, there's always more to learn. I look forward to watching all your videos
I use an app called "Knit Companion". It's wonderful! It can sync with your Ravelry account (for any patterns you've purchased) and with Dropbox for PDF files.
I am very very new to mosaic and i have a question. The last few stitches of the row you did why didn't you change to the gray color? is it because the next row had a drop down dc and would hide it anyways?
