📚 Overlanding with my BMW X3 from 2006.
Over the last 6 months I have converted my X3 into a full overland vehicle and prepared it for West Africa. Water, electricity, food, recovery equipment, spare parts, photography equipment, lights, diy roofrack, diy under body protection, bed with cooking space and drawer, fridge and other upgrades.

No problems at all. I travelled over 18.000km after i installed the lift kit and everything is still perfect

what roof rack is this? or what parts did you use to make it yourself?
The roof rack is custom made by myself. I used 40x40 and 80x40 aluminium profiles

Did u lift it up? Or is the hight of the car standard?
No it's lifted. 2cm in the front and 4cm in the back + the bigger wheels 2cm

Thanks! I designed the roof rack all by myself and you cant buy it. I used 40x40 and 80x40 aluminium profiles.
Was ist das Für eine Rad/Reifen - kombinaton bzw was für eine Reifengrösse. Würde mich Interessieren welche Geländereifen man auf den e83 packen kann
Ich hab mich für 235/65/17 entschieden. Sind etwas größer als standard. Größer geht bestimmt auch noch aber da muss man mehr am Auto bearbeiten dass die nicht schleifen
Great build, bravo ! All I want for mine... I have a 2004 3.0d, 204cv (best engine ever!!) for 16 years now and will never get rid of it.. Can you detail the lift kit you install and also pros and cons ? Is it aluminium ou poly ? I'm changing tires now (still the 235/55R17) and I'm considering go bigger (235/65R17) and for that, I might have to upgrade the hight. Also, great shootings and photography ! and life style.. Keep driving !!!
HI thanks! The car is really great! I have 2cm lift (metal) in the front and 4cm (rubber) in the back. I also switched tires to 235/65/17. Just some slight rubbing at full turn but you can just bend the plastic with a heat gun. No problems at all
@@_nfphotography_ Hi and many thanks for your feedback, I'm starting my project and I'll try 3 cm front and rear with B6 offroad also with 235/65/17. Any feedback about the B6 ? And about the AT tires, from your experience, for an all around use (dry and wet), any sugestions ? The BFs look great but I know for wet tarmac, they are not the best ones (I'm divided between General Grabber AT3, Falken Wildpeak AT3 and Michelin Latitude Cross). Also if you have you've found a "donut" spare compatible, please let me know. Again, thanks in advance

Wie lang ist deine Liegefläche geworden? Und hast du zufällig auch die maximale Länge bei eingebautem Beifahrersitz getestet?
Danke! Meine Liegeflache ist jetzt ohne Beifahrersitz 2 Meter. Mit Sitz ganz vor geklappt kommt man auch auf gute 1,90-1,95m. Ich bin am Anfang 8 Monate mit dem eingebauten Beifahrersitz gereist und es hat auch super geklappt.

Looks incredible, what lift kit did you use?
I used the one from ST Suspension. But they only offer 2cm. But there are more available on ebay with 3 or 4cm
