- The Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion attracts some of the rarest cars and gives some 550 owners the chance to compete in their vintage race cars against cars from the same era and class.
While the largest chunk of cars participating will be sports cars and prototypes from the 1960s and 1970s, there is tremendous variety. Get there early enough, and you can see cars from Pre-1940 battle it out on Laguna Seca’s famed corkscrew turn, sporting wooden wheels that flex and groan over bumps and through corners.

These are my absolute favorite race cars, 100% analogue, 0 downforce, and the noise! This is the stuff I need to see more of to get me to finish my MG, cause this is the stuff that's inspiring me to drive it!

If I ever get to travel back to California, definitely must schedule the trip to coincide with speedweek.
I like to drive over to Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin to watch the vintage races...it's been a few years, maybe THIS summer! Watching this video is nice, but to be in the paddock as they're warming up, then trot through the woods to the speed trap just above turn 5 where they're at top speed and about to brake hard going downhill...I gets chills thinking about it!

hsks3 usuhe2 usually old racecars are worth a lot. Many of them have been crashed, destroyed, and rusted out. Any Ferrari in the video was easily in the millions. The tipo is another car in the millions. The cheapest ones on the track are in the hundred-thousands.

You're not supooossst to race, but when can you in these glorious machines, hell if you have enough dosh to restore one, you can probably afford to fix it later after it thwacks the hay bails.
