He is a great role model for boys; not those rappers you hear about getting arrested on the new.. He is breathtakingly talented and I will never get tired of hearing his voice. elton may be a legend, but chris really brings so much beauty to this song. his voice and strumming just rips into your soul! you can tell he has so much more soul than there is in the music he ordinarily performs, since i'm sure, coming from american idol, he has to perform what his record label tells him too. :( i wish he'd do more songs like this, and i REALLY wish he'd do a full cover of Renegade by Styx!!

I saw the show he did in Iraq, when Gabriel Iglesias opened for him. I was hoping to meet them both. I never got to. But at least I got to see the show. Between Fluffy's jokes and Daughtry's music. One of the best nights I ever had. The only thing that tops this is when my wife and I saw Chevelle get banned from Fort Bragg for life. M.P.'s didn't like them promoting mosh pits lol.

It's really hard to beat Elton Johns version of this song for the simple fact that, well, it's Elton John. That being said if anyone were ever to come close to making this song better I would have to say that Chris Daughtry accomplished it. Amazing cover.

It's 02020 (from 5th string to 1st. Low E is silent) then it changes. These chords are up to you to just play whatever, they'd kinda spacey and loose and allow for you to vary in the strumming. the next section is a littler harder however.
it goes to a C, but then the bass note goes own to a B note (the rest stays the same so it should be 22010) then it goes to A minor, then (hard part) keep the A minor but put your pinky on the 3rd fret (not behind the cap, 3 ahead of it) as you hit the A minor. It sounds great. Next Chord is D, now repeat ALL that starting back at E minor. This is how all the verses are played ;)
