@@VegasDtech using the Carrot. Manticore is very sensitive to small stuff relatively. Especially using low conductors (fine jewelry) mode. What I disagree with is using your pin pointer to aid in digging smaller plugs. I work a lot of manicured parks and if you pin point properly with your detector your plug should already be small. The pin pointer should be used in close proximity to the target to speed up the final retrieval. What's your thoughts!

I only want a pinpointer that signals when close. I am pretty good at pinpointing with the detector itself, so I don't need a deep pinpointer that can pick up other stuff around the target. I have a TRX and I agree, that is the deepest pinpointer I have ever had, and I have had all of them!
Agreed Chuck.. Your technique can overcome needing depth... its just my XP and Garrett are so weak they cant find anything over three inches so i must dig the plug first.... then pop it in.. The Tek-point is so strong its like a hand held metal detector
Joey. Everything you did and said in this informative video is absolutely correct. The White's TRX isTHE deepest followed by the F pulse/ Tek-Point by Fisher/Teknetics. You need to adjust them from high to low when pinpointing. They go ( especially White's) really deep... Great information for your viewers. 👍
I was offered a no name pinpointer for an honest review. It turned out to be very good and air tests on coins at about 3 inches and four inches if I do that trick where you put a metal strip on the back of it, slide it up until it starts beeping, then slide it back just until the beeping stops and keep it there. I haven`t yet tested it in the field due to the weather.
No Joey, not the rice! Being a good Pinoy myself I know how dedicated you must be to use your sack of rice as your test medium! I honestly can say that depth is not the greatest factor for me when using a pinpointer. I really enjoy my Quest XPointer Max which you have reviewed before but I also own a couple Garretts, a Pro-Find 40, XP MI-4 & a Nokta Accupoint. Where would you put the Tekpoint in this group? I have considered getting a Fisher FPulse.
Very interesting. I am curious if the rice had anything to do with the results. Perhaps it has some sort of insulating properties that jam up the VLF pointers? I use the MI-4 and in my soil, I get pretty good depth. The Pulse Dive is still my go-to though. I may have to sacrifice a few pairs of the wife's socks to test this out with different mediums. Good video as always. Thanks dude.
I've used a TRX, F-pulse and a Garrett carot. the Garrett carot was always the most consistant and falsed the least. the F-pulse (I called it the f-false) was a chattering mess. I'll buy that Garrett off of you if you don't want it! I never understood the whole depth thing with a pointer. After some experience it's not hard to estimate the depth of the a target and dig a plug accordingly to get your pointer you use close enough. a lot of it is getting used to whatever you use.
If you have a deep pinpointer and are able to detect the target by probing it on top of the ground, once you kneel down to dig, it will be like putting a screwdriver onto a screw. Just that precise.
@@finders-keepers1518 Yes, the wiggle method will get you there no matter the depth of the object as long as your detector finds it as it could be out of range of any pinpointer.

Hey thanks Frank.... the Tek-point can false thats very true and why i need to carry a back up pointer.. When it does act right ... its the deepest pointer i have... Garrett needs to reproduce the TRX because they own the patents to Whites company
