Diresta Skeleton Knife With Added Bottle Opener

- I bought this knife back in december after watching the 5 or so youtube makers that got sent out heir knives by @jimmydiresta make their handles. It did take a while for me to get the knife here in the UK, but the wait was worth the while for such a quality item. I'm not a huge knife person, but this looked like something I needed to buy! But for me it was lacking one thing, and that was a bottle opener, it now has one ready for the BBQ season!

Turned out really nice, James. @Diresta would be proud!
Hey Suj! Thanks for watching, hopefully he would approve, but I doubt he will ever see it! 🤣
Hello James,
You've added a beautiful bottle of acacia to the skeleton knife. This was a good idea. A beautiful handle and a magnificent knife. Moreover, it is multifunctional. Congratulations. See you. Stay healthy and happy. Big greetings.
Hey Mehmet, thanks very much for watching and taking the time to comment. Glad you liked the video 👍
@@JamesManCave You're welcome. see you all the time. big greetings.
That is some cutting edge technology. Have a knife day 😊♠
I can see you have spent your time away from UA-cam writing new material! 😁🤣
Fair play mate thats awesome, the look of the grain is beautiful nice addition with the bottle opener. Nice job buddy 👍
Thank Dan, will get plenty of use when the BBQ gets fired up! 😁
Guinea, you started doing very good work, congratulations, good luck to you 😊
Thanks, thank you for watching and commenting 👍
nice work James, lovely bit of wood that!
Thanks Keith! Thick I went with the right wood in the end 👍
Beautiful mate. Watching from the US. 💪🏻👍🏻
Cheers buddy, glad to see some dudes across the pond commenting 🤘👍
Good man James, enjoyed that!
Thanks David, good to know someone did! Videos been a bit of a flop! 😁
@@JamesManCave ah I think they will come back, you need to sell yer soul, do another pipe heated to make zero clearance insert or pick a buzz word title for click bait 😊
Anyway I always like the videos.
Pallet lumber, or my makita to milwalkii conversion, click bait🙄😅
Haha, David that's a great idea. I've got a few cool things coming up, all to be revealed on patreon! 😁
By the way, after watching your tour video last year, I remembered a plant you showed called Arisaema, I bought my mum 6 bulbs of different varieties for her birthday. They look fantastic, so thanks for that
Nice job mate, got to love the look of zabrano
Cheers Conor, yeah really glad I went with it. The grain stands out great
Hiya stranger.
Nice upload.
Hi David, wondered where you had gone, not heard from you in a long time. Hope everything is well your end 👍
I do love a knife project, nice work Mate and that wood turned out great (I would have ground that
corner off the back end myself) 🔪 👍 😊
Hiya Tony, I thought you might be interested in this one, that back corner I had originally intended to drill a small hole in it and attach a leather strap to it, but I think it's way to hard to drill! But I hadn't considered grinding it back! Hmmm 🤔🤔👍
I'm guessing it would be a tough one to drill James, Grinding it back is just what I would do with it, live with it for a while and see what comes to mind 👍 😊
Well . . . . Now you have mentioned it, I keep looking at it thinking about it, it's definitely something that is playing on my mind now lol
Dang I've broken James 😐
Nice work, would also look realy good with clear epoxy poured ito the the void.
Thanks! Do you know I did actually consider doing that, but, I've I've been a bit hit and miss with my resin results in the past, and I thought better against ruining this if it didn't turn out to great! 😩😁
@@JamesManCave I see your point there, would be gutting to ruin it.
@@stighds8518 perhaps I'll have a practice first, then re visit this 👍
Unusual wood and the bottle opener is an awesome addition. Your sticker on my wall confused the wife today... she thought I'd had it made for myself 😁
Yea, it's a nice looking wood that zebrano, but quite expensive! Haha well perhaps you can have the James' mancave of Australia then! 🤣
Really like the timber choice James and the design came out lovely. Great to see you back on the TV 📺😊
Thanks Karl, I I do love a bit of zebrano, but its rather expensive 😭
@@JamesManCave I bet it is everything is expensive at the moment 😩
The knife is just another knife without the bottle opener. Adding one improved it 1000%. Well done James! 😀
Thanks Mr G! A bottle opener is one of those things I'm always hunting for, so shouldn't have to much trouble locating this one! 🤪
Superb finish, design and video, you really have done that blade justice 🙌👌👏 all the best rob
Thanks Rob, not really got a big interest in knife, but this was something I really wanted to have a go at. Thanks for watching mate 👍
Looks neat mate, I think you need to invest in some X Files 😳😱🙏 but the bottle opener is a necessity in the Mancave mate 🍻🍺👍
Thanks Dirk, the bottle opener will certainly get lots of use when the barbie makes an appearance this year, steak 🥩 and beer! 🍻😋
Great job James. That came out looking really cool. As you said. Perfect for summer round the corner for opening some beverages in the sun. 👍
Thanks buddy, it's funny, in the days building up to doing this project it was lovely and sunny, perfect for a BBQ and a few beers, as soon as I started it the cold spell came and I couldn't use it! 😭
Looks great
Thanks John, thanks for watching
Nicely done James 😁. Looks great, Jimmy would be proud of what you have done 😁. I do think the clear epoxy fill would look great and add protection and comfort... but may make it a bit heavy on the back end.... but I guess you won't be throwing it about much 😂. Thanks James 😁👍
Hi Frank, no definitely won't be throwing this one around to much, it will be one of my main BBQ tools, I considered the epoxy, but not always had great results with it in the past, (possibly to cold when I've poured it before) so I thought better of it this time. Cheers Frank 👍
@@JamesManCave I've had the same issues with the temperature and epoxy. I'm waiting for the summer for my next resin project 😁👍
Yes, I think for us mere mortals working in cold garages that's probably the best thing. My buddy resinAce has a brilliant reading pouring channel, I have picked up quite a few things from him. Worth checking his channel out 👍
@@JamesManCave I'll check him out, thanks James 😁👍
Every knife should have a bottle opener!
Yep, I agree. Especially when lockdown ends and garden party's can't start again
@@JamesManCave Would be nice if every time you heard about a knife fight it was multiple people trying to open someone's bottle...
Excellent modification, I hope sir Jimmy sees this and appreciates it 😁
Hiya mate! Thank you very much! I doubt he will see it, but I'll certainly appreciate that modification every time I crack open a nice cold beer! 🍻😁👍
@@JamesManCave I'm gonna try and buy a Rambo knife from eBay 😁😁 just so I want to open beer with it
@@jigsey. Ha! That would great. I think that would then be the ultimate utility knife 😁
Great job, James. The wood looks great!
I loved that you can see the logo on the handle. Aren't you afraid that when you cut something the blade would come off of the handle? I thought the slot should have been on the bottom, not the top 🤔
Bottle opener addition is 💯!!
Thanks for watching Andi, no not really concerned about the blade slipping out of the handle, there plenty of epoxy holding it in. I was tempted to put 2 pins in the handle, but the metal is heat treat so it's a bit hard to drill out 👍
