Dope beat. That EQ sounds really good. You should try using a Gain Utility device to boost the input stage to hear its saturation, it sounds really good, also use another Gain Utility after to bring the level back down.
Man these pulsar modular plugins are really excellent. Great video as always! Would love to know what vst your using for your guitar, sounds gorgeous. Also is that the teletone audio retrograde bass? Sick song man
@@WhoIsAlexElliott Hey Bro, I was testing the 6-2s other day and was really impressed.. So the 8-2s must be hella dope.. What made you get rid of them and get Amphions?? I'll be interested to know? Cheers man
I had them on demo when I was looking to purchase, I also tested the 6-2 but it came down to the translation. As incredible as they were the sound profile was far from what I hear naturally. The amphion was a happy accident. I owned ex machina pulsar which were incredible but they added around 30ms of latency due to the DSP inside of them. And this was very frustrating when playing in midi. It just so happened that my local dealer had amphion on sale and was sending out demos so I asked for two 18 and then hated how they sounded BUT the mixes translated so well. After a week I then absolutely LOVED how they sounded 💪🙌👌.
@@WhoIsAlexElliott Really interesting, I think im used to the high-end as when I first started I used ADAMs A77x. The ribbon tweeter is BRIGHT lol.. So I think im used to the HIFI sound which I get is a personal sound profile. I then moved to the PMC IB1s which I love but now I want a smaller speaker so I went to local dealer like you but did listening test at the shop for HOURS. I thought I was going to buy the ATC25s but ended up loving the 6-2s. Ive heard great stuff about Amphions like you say very NS10 like (Which I love and own) I wish they had them there but like you say, maybe not best to compare anyway. You've given me a food for thought so thanks.
8:21 This is a top quality instrumental Alex, the strings and emotional keys. I have been using Reasons Stock EQ for over a decade, I just like it, but there is no colour added to the sound.
Thankyou so much. I use proQ3 almost all the time which also adds no colour. I’ll do subtractive EQ and then using saturation to boost Harmonics. But the Pulsar Modular stuff is something else! I’m happy to say I had bought most of his plugins before I started the UA-cam so my love for them is GENUINE!
@@WhoIsAlexElliott Definitely I trust your opinions and knowledge you provide with your videos and music. P422 is a good quality product as You show, also I haven't heard anything negative about there brand. You know how the producer space is when there is a bad plugin or brand, its like wild fire everyone knows about it.
That’s exactly it. If they were bad then the community would make it clear. The only bad thing I sometimes I hear is they aren’t CHEAP. But with the quality of the pulsar modular plugins they should cost more when compared to the compeititon. I wouldn’t expect a Ferrari to cost the same as a basic street legal car.
@@WhoIsAlexElliott Pulsarmodular are more expensive then Waves or Soundtoys but they have set there price to what they think they are worth and its up to the users to choose, on face value or research the value. Many brands like Wave prioritise low costs and that probably limits the time spent on developing the plugins, more time and money shluld equal a superior product.
NICE BOSS ❤..YES THAT TYPE OF EQUALIZER THAT SHOULD BE ADDED BEFORE A BUS GROUP .. SO YOU CAN EASILY HAVE YOUR CONTROL BUS IN CHECK BEFORE INSERTING IT. I THINK A CHARACTER CHANGE ON MIX ELEMENTS CAN BE NOTICABLE EASILY IF NOT ADDED BEFORE A BUS..BUT ALSO YOU HAVE TO MAKE DECISIONS ON WHERE IT WILL WORK BEST IN THE TYPE OF PRODUCTION OR GENRE.. TO ME PERSONALLY I WILL LOVE THE TYPE ON A STRING OR ON RHODES I THING IT WILL WORK PERFECTLY ON RHODES..RHODES DONT USUALLY NEED TOO MUCH TWEAKING BUT ALSO IF WE DO MORE TWEAKING RHODES IS ALWAYS RHODES OR A STRING IS ALWAYS A STRING.. BUT I WILL TRY IT MORE ON OTHER THINGS ..NICE VIDEO THANKS FOR SHARING BOSS
I REALLY love the Pre amp of 1073. I own a BAE 1073 but I’ve never been a fan of the 1073 EQ. Always much preferred the 1081 EQ. So I may not be the best person to answer that question. However I can say this is of really high quality and sounds fantastic in its own right.
you're not JUST changing the q with that setting to the right. it affects the whole curve of the band entirely, more to the right means it gets punchier - it's has opposite curves right around the center frequency - and more to the left makes things more transparent
I think if you don’t own a channel strip at all then go for RESEQ because it’s super cheap but also gives you more distortion options. But if you own saturation already and simply looking for a high quality awesome EQ then get this!
FFS not another, just copped the Magnum.
😂😂😂 sorry bro. Can’t help if they make dope stuff!
Your channel is a much needed breeze of fresh air in the modern audio education and review marketplace.
Ahh thankyou truly ❤️🙏
Good music good EQ, music always sounds so smooth.

Awesome tip I’ll check that out. And thanks bro! 🙌

Yes you hit the nail on the head. It was the high end I couldn’t get used to. The amphions are much smoother in comparison

You are correct. It not only narrows the Q but adds a slight resonance to the left of the selected frequency 💯👌🙌❤️.
Do you think this EQ is better than the Res Q?
