This video reminded me of the times I walked through Funchal it was in the 1970'e and 1984. I had on a pair of stiletto heals and struggled to walk on the cobbled streets. My late mother and father in law's were Olga and João de Freitas they had a beautiful house up at Monte. Unfortunately it was damaged with the fire that broke out in Madeira. I remember going to the fish and food market, it looks like the market has been renovated
Madeira is such a beautiful, peaceful place. I can't imagine how different Funchal must have looked 40 years ago. The market has indeed been recently renovated, and it has become an attraction in and of itself. I hope you get to visit Madeira again soon. I know the contrast you will find will be stark, compared to what you remember from before. Madeira has changed so much. Even just over the past decade! ❤️🇵🇹
