Infelizmente em fevereiro meu marido faleceu, perdi meu melhor amigo, e eu e nosso filho tivemos que vir embora para o Brasil, é confesso sonho a cada dia em poder um dia retornar. Meu marido nasceu em Gaia, e conhecia cada lugar deste lindo país, e nós dois fazíamos muito esse passeio pela boa vista, foz . Obrigada 🌹

That's absolutely true! Unfortunately it's an old problem. Youngsters make their graffiti everywhere, usually at night. Homeowners and local authorities can't clean it up fast enough. Sometimes they'll even graffiti over actual artistic murals. Vandalism has been on the rise over the last couple years, as have other problems: the amount or rubbish found on the streets, instances of as*ault, extremely loud music being blasted everywhere, public ur*nation in every corner, etc... It's very sad, and it makes our beautiful city feel terrible. I hope local authorities find a way to deal with it in the future ❤️🇵🇹

É verdade, muitas vezes ao caminhar, passamos por sítios ruidosos. Já pensei meter música ambiente nas caminhadas, mas o objectivo é mesmo serem imersivas e darem a ideia de como cada sítio. Parte da essência de um local é o som, e às vezes o ruído. Obrigado pelo feedback. Tenho tentado diminuir o ruído digitalmente, tenho de continuar a tentar melhorar isso. ❤️🇵🇹

Olá! A Sertã é uma pequena cidade da Beira Baixa. Fica um pouco a oeste de Castelo Branco, na Zona do Centro de Portugal ❤️🇵🇹

That sounds wonderful! I can't imagine how different everything must have looked back then. Even in the last couple decades, so much has changed in Benfica... As for the cheese, it's one of my favourites. My family is from near the area where it's made (in central Portugal, mostly on the north slope of Serra da Estrela). Thankfully, I think you can still find a good wheel of Queijo da Serra for less than 100 euros. I'm curious to visit the various cheese festivals that promote that particular type of soft-runny sheep's cheese

@@PortugueseFlaneur I remember walking to see Benfica at the old stadium, on what must now be Rua João de Freitas Branco, there was nothing on either side of the road but 3 metre high vegetation. Below Av. Lusíada there no buildings, just one very large barraca community. And of course there was no Colombo. in 1995, I passed by to see a good 30 cranes working at the same time., to build it.

Mind-blowing! I remember Colombo before it got the towers, and I have a very vague memory of the old stadium. Sometimes when I'm filming through a place, I wonder what it will look like 50 years from now 🤔

@@PortugueseFlaneur Pink Street is a good example. I remember going on a walk about some 30 years ago, passing along Rua Nova do Carvalho, and being propositioned for sex because I looked like an American tourist. Look at the street now. I have a love/hate relationship with Baixa, and its transformation, particularly the last dozen years. Seeing all the beautiful buildings rejuvinated is a positive, but only catering to tourists, thereby displacing all the original businesses and people that gave Lisboa character, is disheartening.

É uma lagoa, chamada Lagoa das Furnas (por estar perto da Vila das Furnas), e julgo que se pode nadar na água, e há actividades com barcos. Há ainda um trilho circular que começa perto da vila e circunda toda a lagoa ❤️🇵🇹

Madeira is such a beautiful, peaceful place. I can't imagine how different Funchal must have looked 40 years ago. The market has indeed been recently renovated, and it has become an attraction in and of itself. I hope you get to visit Madeira again soon. I know the contrast you will find will be stark, compared to what you remember from before. Madeira has changed so much. Even just over the past decade! ❤️🇵🇹

Depende do que fazes. Deixar um carro de luxo estacionado com os vidros abertos e a chave na ignição é perigoso. Mas se te portares e vestires normalmente e não tentares arranjar sarilhos, não é perigoso. Tem alguns bairros mais problemáticos, nomeadamente a Cova da Moura, onde a malta gosta que os deixem em paz e não vão lá, mas o resto do concelho é tranquilo

Madeira is a beautiful island. So much nature in such small space. I always love visiting, even with the social issues (which one finds everywhere), and some over-tourism at the most popular spots. It's one of my favourite places to be ❤️🇵🇹

I've heard similar stories from people who grew up on Santa Maria Island. It is a lovely place. I'm glad you liked the video. It's comments like yours that keep me filming. I have a few more walking videos from Santa Maria (see the map in the description), and also some footage in a LoFi video I made as a bit of an experiment with still shots from the Açores. As I remember it, the bits from Santa Maria are a drone video from São Lourenço and some cows grazing on a hill just East of Vila do Porto. I was going to film Maia too, with the waterfall and the sharp cliffs, but my friend who was travelling with me noticed he'd forgotten his bag somewhere else, and we had to leave in a rush to go get it. 😅 Thanks for sharing your story. ❤️🇵🇹

Sim, Mafra (e o convento) está no cimo de uma zona meia inclinada, talvez para ter uma melhor vista. Por isso pode ver-se o convento desde muito longe. Este passeio foi feito um pouco em modo de exploração, sem um trilho definido, e acabei a seguir um caminho diferente do que eu teria planeado. As ruas principais da cidade são mais planas do que o que apanhámos no vídeo. As aves no jardim também me deixaram triste, tão bonitas e fechadas num espaço tão pequeno, como numa prisão... 😔 Em geral, eu tento manter-me relativamente anónimo online, mas deixo abaixo o meu nome para a minha fã e amiga ;)
