  • The Power Snatch is an Olympic weightlifting move that builds full body strength, power, and coordination.
    How To Do A Power Snatch
    1. Start by positioning your feet shoulder-width apart, with the barbell resting on the floor in front of your shins.
    2. Lower your body into a squat position, keeping your chest up and your back straight, and grip the barbell with a wide grip, palms facing downwards.
    3. Engage your core and pull your shoulders down.
    4. Lift the barbell off the floor by pushing through your feet and extending your hips and knees explosively. Keep your shoulders back and down
    5. As the barbell rises, push away from the floor keeping the bar close to your body and keeping arms straight.
    6. Once the barbell reaches hip level, swiftly drop underneath it, bending your knees and hips to catch the barbell in a partial squat position aiming to keep the path of the barbell as straight as possible throughout the movement.
    7. Ensure that your arms are fully extended and locked out overhead, with the barbell balanced directly above your shoulders.
    8. Stand up out of the partial squat position, pushing through your heels and keeping the barbell balanced overhead.
    9. Finish the lift by standing tall with the barbell fully extended overhead.
    10. To lower the barbell, carefully handle the barbell back down to your hips and place it back on to the floor.
