- A second half hat-trick from captain Mile Jedinak fired Australia to the FIFA World Cup after an emphatic 3-1 win over Honduras in the second leg of their FIFA World Cup 2018 Russia Intercontinental Play-off at Stadium Australia in Sydney.

Australian fans applauded Honduras after the national anthem. We respect you as a people and your football team and thank you for being fair and welcoming to the Socceroos when we visited your lovely country. Uruguay were booed in 2005 because they treated us very poorly. From all accounts your people were friendly and good natured to all Australians who watched the match in Honduras. We honour you.

Conmebol has 5 spots max. CONMEBOL, A POWERFUL CONFEDERATION WILL EITHER HAVE 4-5. Africa Has 5 spots too, even though they are much lower than Conmebol. Also, AFC shouldn't have 5 spots.

None are easy.....our 2014 group was about as difficult as they come....we'd take Group A thank you....I think we've got Russia's number.
As much as i wanted honduras to win because they’re a concacaf team, australia has proven they’re better than years past. They almost won in san pedro sula which is difficult to play in. They managed to dominate honduras when it mattered most in the second leg.
My team didnt make it but i’ll still wish for a great performance from the aussies. Hopefully they’ll have a better performance than in 2006.
We had a young team and very difficult draw in 2014.....we are hoping for some luck in the draw this time.
