wow, i really love how much work and effort you put into the editing. it made this video very entertaining. also, congrats on all your accomplishments!! i wish you nothing but the best at vanderbilt :))
Im very introverted and have strict parents. Im a freshman in high school..i was just wondering what are some ways to get involved in school for someone like me.
for starters, get rid of the “introverted” mindset about yourself. Going into highschool you’re gonna have to look past that and begin to branch out. if sports aren’t really your thing, start by atleast trying to join a club if your school allows them. Not only that, but colleges like seeing that you participated in extracurriculars because it shows that you can balance your school work on top of other things as well. Try talking to your parents about this and i’m sure they would understand.
i’m a incoming freshman and i’m so scared. i get A’s and B’s in 8th grade. I want to go to UT or Rice but with the grades i get now there is no way i can get in. btw you’re pretty. Good Luck in college!
You can do it I believe in u!! Just try ur best and focus on ECs. Plus early decision strategy is really important and can be a huge boost (I talk about it in my college strategies video!!)
As a rising junior, my advice is to do all of your homework. All of it. It’s the easiest way to get a higher grade. And actually study for your tests. Also, focus on your ECs, but you don’t need to have a focus until junior year. Just do as many as you can handle. Don’t overload yourself
Am I screwed if I didn't do any extracurriculars Freshman year? Have a 1490 sat, 4.0 uw gpa, will have 10 aps, president of a club, varsity track, member of other club, both clubs related to what i want to study, and I raised 10k, also did something called link crew, oh and part time job, some volunteer hours too
Hi, so I have a 3.8 gpa and I’ve only taken 1 AP class (AP Calc) and my school offers a lot of AP classes. I did carry a job from my sophomore summer to the present and I was apart of investment club from freshman-senior year, and FBLA my senior year. I also have 100 hours of community service (school required to graduate). Do you think if I applied early decision I’d have a shot? I’ve been working on my personal and supplemental essay really hard too
I only have 4s on my aps and I have taken 4 dual classes (8 semesters) with all As, 5 aps, and didnt submit test scores. I have been involved in band, choir, firstpriority, and beta all 4 years, drama, yearbook, book club, YiG, Tri-M, and made All-State choir 10-12, and nhs 11-12, and peer tutor for 12. I also organized community service clothes drives during 11 and held leadership in two clubs. I have a 4.0, but I'm scared because my test scores for ap are low, and I took duals instead of ap. Do I still have a shot? Even if my personal essay wasnt very good?
Don't worry about AP scores, if you don't do that well on them them that's ok. Honestly, they are less important than SAT or ACT scores. You have a 4.0 so focus on keeping it a 4.0. Also, focus on SAT or ACT scores more than AP scores.
Hi I'm from India and I'm in 12th grade I don't have Math at school but i had math till 10th I'm from Commerce stream and want to study in USA If you could please answer a few questions for me it would be really helpful 1- I don't have Math hence i can't give SAT so is it possible to get admission without my SAT scores? 2- Does giving EILTS help? 3- What are financial aids offered by Vanderbilt? 4- I have strong extra-curriculars so will that help me? 5- I want to take admission in January 2025 is there any possibility for that? 6- When do I need to give EILTS to apply? 7- In Indian schools, we don't have any thing such as GPA, is that a problem?
so idk if it's just this year but i called admissions and they said to not self report ap scores and not to send them through collegeboard as well. did you self report the scores?
This is true of most schools: The number of extracurriculars is less important than finding a few things you're really passionate about and building focus and value around them. Elite schools aren't looking for the longest list; that often looks inauthentic and/or chaotic. They want to see a well-rounded, intellectually curious student of the world. Who you are as a person and what you bring to the school are the most important thing (assuming a baseline of stellar academics--because everyone who wants in will already have that).
Hi, Hope you are doing great! I am 19 years old. toefl around 100 or ielts 7.5 My GPA for from high school is a 4.0 And I am planning to take SAT. Currently I am enrolled at an online university. And working as a teacher as well, I am planning to apply for universities. Based on what I mentioned want would you recommend or do I have any chances of acceptance in vanderblit university?
Nope! As long as you do well in your honors classes you’re all set because it’s not your fault. I think your guidance counselor notes that your school doesn’t offer APs in your application:)
my sat score was not very good (1170) but all the schools im applying to, vanderbilt included, are test-optional which is exciting because i have the gpa and extracurriculars and challenged myself in high school but i just am not great at taking big tests like the sat
another me too college video....People do this to flex, I suppose in their high schools and home towns. The really impressive kids stay quiet, people know who they are.
Nah , most likely got a scholarship and went to one of the best schools on earth and will have a well-rounded education and be a good human being. Unlike you 🙂
"I was really involved in my high school theatre group" is the understatement of the century
When I watch these videos I kind of wonder how these kids don’t burn out. Props anyhow!
