Age 40 now loved this film use to watch this with my siblings as a child absolutely magical … thankyou to everyone who made this film .. love it very much ❤
@@daniellegodwin6127 Right, this is the best animated/live-action musical motion picture, since The Three Caballeros, Mary Poppins, Song of the South and Bedknobs and Broomsticks.
yes so did i remeber walking into the ending scene at southgate general cinema theaters . people through the years have somehow forgotten this films made a mint at the theater in those days thats why the studios biggest productions were always released at christmas time. 6 years previous to this one bedknobs and broomsticks pulled its own crowded theater as well. thats something that the so called critic for disneycember obviously is not old enough to remember. the only disney musical i have never seen in a theater at release date was disneys happiest millionaire doubtful that pulled in a large crowed though as the films saving grace was fed macmurray and tommy steele. wouldnt have held a childs attention span as it was basically a showcase period film over a wealthy couples engagement.
One of Walt Disney‘s most beloved classics of the late 1970s. The animated musical fantasy adventure about orphan boy, and his cartoonist, green, invisible, firebreathing dragon.
I never saw this movie though I remember seeing it advertised back in the day. I did however see the new Pete's Dragon & the 2 movies don't seem anything alike from what I see in this trailer.
The new version isn't bad, but they only kept Pete and Eliot. If they wanted to remake it (which I don't think it should have been remade), they should have kept the original story. If they had changed Pete and Eliot's names (along with the new plot) it would have been a new ORIGINAL movie. Eliot looks better as his cute animated version than his full hair version. He looks like a dog with wings in the new version.
Only here cos someone commented on IG that the old one is better than the new and I'm believing that now with all the comments here Ps: never watched either of them
@@jnmiller008 It's not in the film?! I always get it confused too. I wonder why? I wonder if the Disney channel ever showed a music segment with the song playing with it is why maybe me and other people are confused. I'll have to some how check. Perhaps by watching again, huh?
Learning that Elvis was supposed to perform in Portland, Maine when he died makes me suspicious. Elvis was even controversially drafted when he was a threat to The Mickey Mouse Club in 1957. Putting Maine instead in Pete's Dragon as a work of Disney "decency" has the potential to create a conspiracy theory that Disney helped murder him. The film came out just three after his death, and three months after he was susposed to do a concert in Portland Maine in the new Cumberland Civic Center. It was also not cool to be uncool to The Andy Griffith Show with the Gogan Family. They were somehow "unbred" Southern hillbillies in very northern Maine. In the Happiest Home In These Hills number, they told Petey he could go fishing. The Andy Griffith Show after all always featured a little boy named Opie Taylor going with his Pa, Sheriff Andy Taylor.
Y’all actually liked this movie? Sure, it’s a “classic”, but I believe the whole thing was a dragged on mess. The remake was actually better that time.
2023 and tearing up just watching this trailer. One of my favorite Disney classics. They really don’t make them like they use too

+Christine Hughes I saw Bedknobs and Broomsticks at the drive in with my dad and sister. Think the second feature was White Line Fever? Good times :)

When I was younger, this was the bomb. Now it just seems like an artifact to show kids these days how old animation worked.
This movie warms my heart,
I didn't know it was over two hours long until I got it on DVD.
I watched this show on TV when i was a child i can't remember but it must of been in the 70s or 80s on channel 8 if i remember right
this, Star Wars and Winnie the Pooh were my first movies at the age of 4.
i didn't remember that movie until i saw the trailer of the new one. i used to love that movie a lot haha
It's a shame that children now a days are watching the bad 2016 version and never watched this Walt Disney classic!
James Mcclean the new version isn’t bad
While I think the remake's fine, I still think the original's more memorable.
