When your mum says peekaboo to the prawns. Had me in stitches. So glad I found this channel it's amazing. Well done guys.
Mum is so funny right 🤣🤣🤣 and thank you
Pishin mesel 😂
Already a huge bird owner fan list...do you have any pets?
This channel is gold
Thank you so much, you have no idea how nice comments like this make our day
there's a slot on prime time tv for you two... yer mams a star and so are you...xxx
Hahah thanks so much, but I really doubt very much we will ever get noticed and if we did 100% they'd get mum to drop me as she's the main attraction to our show 😂😂😂😂
Ha I love the rapport between them. Kinda an oriental version of russel Howard and his mother 👍🏻
Nooooo! The banter between you both is what makes it funny! Don't underestimate your contribution!
It’s absolutely the both of you. Its that lifelong banter & give/take that no other combo than mum & son could replicate...
I do t own a restaurant with my mum like you, but I do find myself always trying to give or prep her an “in” into conversations as she’s v shy... But when she starts chatting about stuff she knows, she’s a bloody diamond - just like your mum. Keep it real, mate... :)
I love this channel it’s so heart warming. Just cooking with your mum, everyone treasures those moments in life!
I always do :) shes awesome :)
I really miss my lovely Mum...
I love prawn toast, if only they were low calorie, my wife is wanting me to cut down in the new year and you remind me how good they are to eat. 😆 I have absolutely no self control as it is. Prawn toast, crispy seaweed, salt and chilli chicken, spareribs and a soup to have with it are my go to starters, basically a day’s calories before eating a main course! Good job my trousers have elastic expandable sections.
God bless you both and we wish you great things for the new year xx 😘
Just like me Dave, no self control when it comes to food, trick is to try to and get some exercise in, that's the best way to eat and stay healthy, easier said than done though. Nice to hear from you as always, happy New year :) form me and mum xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Hands down my favourite channel on UA-cam, I'm so glad you're growing so quickly!
If I wasn't on a student budget I would be donating more!
Keep it up :)
I've just seen you've donated! Thank you so much, you have no idea what that means to us, gets us one step closer to doing this full time :)
BEAUTIFUL. Thankyou! I wanted to surprise my parents with some prawn toast. It's their favourite. I made a nutty sauce and served it them. They loved it. Thankyou man. You have got a new subscriber.
Thats awesome to hear! Glad we could help :)
This is brilliant and such a simple concept! So many of us just want "it" to taste like it does at the takeaway. Sometimes we don't care that it isn't fancy/healthy.
Thank you!
no thank you for the kind words and for watching!
This entire series of videos are fantastic. Keep up the good work ! 😍
Thanks you 😊

Absolutely ...come on BBC/Channel 4....commission a series!
If only, that would be incredible, I'd definitely have to go to the gym and loose weight if that did ever happen 😂😂😂
Nooo. They will ruin your show by forcing you to adopt their agendas.
Stay independant and grow. And you will, just keep up the good work.
@@suroj we wouldn't stop doing this 😊😊😊

Help us self publish our book, because we're nobodies we cant get a publishing company to look twice at us. To self publish our book is going to cost alot, as to get them at a resonable price to be able to sell we have to print in the thounsands. If you'd like to support the channel and help us achieve this goal a small donation would really help us reach it. If you would like to donate please click the link www.chinandchoo.com/copy-of-cooking-lessons
If you can't or just dont want to donate that fine too, we just really appreciate that you're here watching our content and being part of the #ziangarmy community. Happy cooking, happy eating, Chin and Choo xx
Ziang's Food Workshop before going to the expense of printing try doing a subscription through amazon kindle. A number of people or 'publishing' with this electronic method. It will give you an idea of your potential market without the cost. Plus you can link it to your patron by giving them exclusives... a thought?
I was never confident making these but using your recipe & the know how I did & it totally rocked!! Thank you soooo much

Talk about a blast from the past. Was surprised to see your face on UA-cam Chin.
Remember me and my Wife having a meal at your restaurant on north hill probably seven years ago-ish.
Great video bud, your mom's a superstar.
Haha thanks! That's crazy, you just brought up loads of memories too! Lol and mum is a legend right!
I’m going to give this a go tomorrow. Love making Chinese at home, but these are so helpful for how to make it takeaway style 🤘🏻
Hope you enjoy
Your mum is the sweetest lady!
She really is
So so so happy right now postman been and my partner has secretly bought me your guys book!!!!! Love you guys!!
Brilliant :)
If I ordered Prawn Toast from a takeaway and it was square I'd honestly never order from there again 😂
Hahahahhaha exactly! I mean who does that?! Are they even people?! 😂😂😂😂😂
Does it matter if its square it all taste sooooooo good prawn toast topped with roast pork chow mein is to die for
I've recently moved into a new address and my local chinese is honestly the best I've ever had. All cooked fresh. never too greasy and the prawn toast is amazing, they really layer the prawn on thick... I've never seen prawn toast like it even in highly rated restaurants!
You are very lucky :)
...and where is this, please? 😋
We made these tonight, they were delicious - thank you x
This channel is a great find. You guys should be on TV!
Thank you:) and we will never get on TV lol
Yum yum, called Shrimp Toast, here in the States. Love watching y'all cook. 😊 😊 😊
Yeah you guys call prawns shrimp right?
Reminds me of the Xmas episode of The Royle Family where she asks if they want triangles or squares for the starter of cuppa soup in a bowl😂. My teen daughter looovvvesss Chinese food and is going through the sitting in her room stage every night so this channel is going to help me bond aswell as cook as she will be doing it with me! 👍
Thanks a brilloant idea :)
So happy to have found this channel.
We're so happy you took the to watch 😊😊😊
Top tip to save you money. In Thailand they blend the prawn with pork - stretches out the prawn paste. Tastes OK in prawn cakes. I got all these ingredients, will try soon. You and your Mum are amazing mate, love the videos.
They use chicken here or loads of bread crums lol and thank you :)
Made these little gems last week and all i can say is MAKE THEM you wont regret it, so simple but so good, trying Chicken version tonight
thanks you!!!!!
@@ZiangsFoodWorkshop The chicken versions went down very well with the members of my family that don't like prawns, 1 small chicken breast made 4 well covered slices of bread so is very good value, i added minced garlic, chopped spring onions, potato starch, white pepper, dash of light soy, salt, toasted sesame oil and of course MSG.
Added the potato starch as it looked a bit wet (probably had chicken that was full of water).
Personally i prefer the prawn versions but they were very good.
Dam forgot to try the oyster, oh well ill have to make some more 😁
love these videos! bought the book yesterday.
Awesome and thanks :)
Love you guys! My favourite food professors😀
haha thank you :)
These videos are brilliant.
Thank you :)
I really want to see the RIGHT way. Get those recipes up guys! But defo keep the takeaway recipes too. I find them fascinating.

You guy ROCK ! Thank you xxxx
no thank you for the lovely comment :)
I bought some prepared frozen sesame prawn toast from the supermarket and this is how it must have been made but it is not what I buy from a Chinese shop in Australia. I worked in an Australian Chinese shop and watched how the cook made them. He cut the prawns down the middles then dipped them into his normal batter and spread them onto a piece of bread (that had it's crusts cut off). the batter made it stick to the bread. He then dipped the prawn side into sesame seeds and fried them. They were so tasty with plenty of prawn meat on them.
Wow they sound amazing, I've never seen them done that way before, but all the UK people that now live in Austria say that Chinese food is very different over there
Just made your prawn toast, used 250g of fresh king prawns, supper easy and it gave me 16 triangle portions, cost me about £4:00.
Had to cut the crusts off the ones for my wife, what a fussy queen :) ....Love to your mum.
Nice one! and deep fried crust is the best bit! lol
just did the rib last night home sweet home came out perfect next one for my wife would be good Salt and pepper chicken cheers your recipes are amazing cheers gerry

From the West Coast and I’ve never heard of this before. Great intro by the way, at least your honest about your indifference to shrimp toast.

Hey guys. Thanks for these videos, they're really informative and helpful! Just one question. I made prawn toast following this recipe today, but when I flipped it, all the sesame seeds fell off the top! Can you tell me what I might have been doing wrong?
Hi Chin, Happy New Year to you and your Mum! Thanks for another great recipe, i will try it soon. I was wondering, since all takeaways seem to use the same or similar recipes, how is the knowledge passed around? Are there web forums or recipe books only accessible to takeaway chefs, or is it all word of mouth? It surprises me a bit that the knowledge behind these recipes is so widespread, as surely each chef would want to keep his knowledge secret, yet it seems not to be the case as everywhere is using very similar recipes. I guess whatever the system is, you guys know about it, as you seem to have no trouble getting typical takeaway recipes even though you don't cook that way yourselves.
We used to cook this way, had actual takeaways, but chose to do high end street food rather than takeaways, and depends, some learn from the previous person they bought the takeaway off, other have had takeaways in there family for years so if they had one in the UK in 1950s, that 2 gens removed and if each one opens there own that's 2 children who both have 2 each by 6o years that's 7 places that all cook the same, plus Chinese have been cooking this western stuff in the US since 1880s so it's just been passed around, each Chinese place will say they do it better, or they use slightly different things, but at the end of the day, there are only so many ways to make the same thing before it becomes a different dish if you know what I mean.
Ziang's Oriental Food Workshop thanks Chin. I was wondering how new people come in and learn, but like you said they probably get info from the previous owner. There's plenty of places which change hands because the food is no good, so not sure that gives the new people much chance :)
@@PVflying Yeah most aren't chef, there business people that made money in China and want to make money here, so they come over, get taught by the previous owner and then get left to it :)
Just started watching........going to be a viewer......from now......
Awesome, nice to meet you 😊😊😊
I love the chef top man, 👍👍👍
We were at work when we filmed this, before service
