Hi folks - the last time we stayed at the Conrad Maldives a few years back now we plumped for 11 nights on the Half Board package with a beach Villa. We always stitch our trips together rather than get robbed on Package Holidays, so we booked our flights with Emirates, the Air Taxi, and direct with the Island for our stay. Overall we felt the cost was reasonable for what we had. Luckily neither of us are big drinkers so a couple of cocktails a day plus sparking bottled water is our daily bar bill give or take. We did a few excursions, night fishing, Island hopping, and we also hired a yacht for a day which was really fab. The whole trip was paid for on a cash basis, with no points redemption used. One thing I will say, is it seems the cost of tripping to the Maldives is getting a bit over the top nowadays, esp' if you want a high-end resort. Next time we visit I will try another resort, maybe the Four Seasons, which is one of our preferred chains. We'll see.

This is a great video. Also, doing the Maldives for our honeymoon…and we are from Chicago! We thought about the Conrad, but decided on the Hilton Amingiri instead (it’s newer). What about the flight?

Just watched that video. Trying to figure out using point for the flight now. Not sure I have to time to earn the amount needed for the business class / Q Suite Flight. I am diamond (due to traveling for work) so hotel is paid for…hopefully they will upgrade us too. I also have the Hilton Surplus Card…getting additional point from that, but don’t need them at this point.
In addition, I have the Capital One Venture card and I took advantage of the intro offer (75,000 miles or $750). Trying to figure out if I should try and get some additional cards to help offset the flight costs
@@kdog2673 we used a combination of Chase and Amex points when we booked our flights. We transferred them to British Airways and booked with Avios

@@kdog2673 the sign up bonuses were 60k points on each card, so it didn't take long at all to earn. We booked 8 months in advance because Qatar Airways is pretty stingy with award space in business class. As soon as I saw space open, snagged IMMEDIATELY
