i do occasional flight in a real citation x, although it’s model looks stunning, i’ll say it’s 80% correct, there’s a few switches which aren’t modeled, some that don’t work, such as the checklist buttons, and then there’s the entire top row of the FMC which isn’t active, therefore can’t insert custom performance aside from the default full performance mode. this said i was blown away by the physics, it’s almost study level for a freeware stock plane, hats off to laminar
Pitot heat is usually switched on just before taxi role so that it does not overheat the pitot tube while you are sitting. But great video, thanks I love this aircraft!
A couple things... and I'm just picking on you bc I'm board and have nothing better to do lol -red handle is for the emergency brakes -tookoff with a "NO TAKEOFF" CAS msg -not sure why the transponder wasn't in TA/RA unless it was MEL'D or something -In the real airplane on the FGC panel when you are in NAV mode pressing the bank mode will not restrict the bank. Only restricts the bank in HDG mode. At least in my experience. -typically you just leave the yaw damper on. There is no limitation for normal takeoff and landing with yaw damper on. -ahhh the app and landing was a little fast lol -you want the T/Rs to be at idle at 70kts

My thoughts on the Citation X. Not bad for a default, oscillation issues are needing fixing. Overall a pretty chill default biz jet to fly for XP12. I never understood why the designers of this plane put the heading, course and altitude selection down on the pedestal though lol
@@datutturugang666 Every time I fly a airliner or bizjet in X-Plane I'm reminded of why these kind of planes require two pilots. It can be challenging to keep up with these planes alone. X-Plane and MSFS both need a built-in multiplayer mode when the cockpit can be shared.
Seeing something flying in this altitude is new for the Aliens - that´s why they wanted to check out your awesome-looking futuristic Cessna. To check out if it´s a threat for their mothership hidden behind the moon and if you can leave orbit with these awesome oversized engines. (Because to be honest in all other private jets the engines look like RC-toy-turbines with the air inlet of the size of a palm, this is the first private jet with some serious looking turbines mounted on the back!) Hmm it is true there are U.F.Os in Xplane. Amazing! I LOVE that feature! Next time take Fox Mulder with you on the flight in this area.
Check the Aircrafts folder for your Xp12 install location for the operating guide that has a Lamar Research checklist and FMS guide. I could find real manuals online for the Citation X but not a checklist which is strange.
Nice flight! Not a fan of that autopilot oscillation there though! Also its perfectly normal to fly M 0.92 in the Citation X! Its still one of the world's fastest business jets!

Sorry, but in my opinion it is very difficult to fly the Citation. I don't know how the heading is working,. The flight plan does not work very well. I loaded a flight plan into the FMC, but not working at all. I looked at a lot of UA-cam films of the Citation, but no one showed how you can operate the instruments and the autopilot. Your video is good. Maybe I am the one. I normally fly with Embraer Phenom 300 and everything works very good. I think the best aeroplane in X-Plane 12 and 11.

Vatsim is a good training tool.. but i still rather recommend Pilotedge to prepare you for the real world. The busy-ness of constantly changing frequencies and readbacks, more reflects the real world. Plus the higher standard is so valuable
Is there a way to reset the f system when it freezes up without turning xplane off and starting over.I have a friend who flies one of these the real thing.I got a ride in it from Florida to Michigan.M.908 at 43,000 feet.The airliners we’re below us.2Hour 11 minutes.

lNice work, I like this plane too! I cant get the nose to stop bouncing up and down even on AP NAV - gains thousands of feet of altitude in a stair step fashion ... do you notice this ? I also have terible time landing with similar issue nose up and down . . . and how fo you shutoff the engines ? cant seem to do it.
Is the yaw damper simulated? If so, must be engaged from right after takeoff until right before landing. Also, takeoff power until top of climb is entirely unrealistic. Engine speed and temperature limitations would prevent this.

To turn on the APU: -- Batt 1 & 2 ON - Make sure left fuel boost is NORM - Avionics ON (or EICAS) - APU master (bottom right on APU panel) ON - Hold the test button and check that the APU FIRE, RELAY ENGAGED, APU FAIL, READY TO LOAD, BLD VALVE OPEN light up. should also show 50 rpm, 500 egt, and more than 22V - APU START switch to start momentarily this is the actual procedure for the real aircraft so it should work. You don't have to do the test but i put it in there for fidelity
Also tested this bird. Default systems and FMC on this model really can be compared with amazing old model from EagleSoft for FSX. Some autopilot issues need to be fixed, but it is minor, comparing with GREAT job of XP 12 programmers.

It's automatic. As you climb, the kias for a mach number decreases. At a certain point, the target kias surpasses the target mach number, at which point the FMS will automatically switch to mach.

Gosh man Xplane 12 is one ugly little cookie, I mean the "light" on the front nose wheel looked like a literal cardboard cutout of rays, I think the engine is just too old. I have to ask, with rain it seems that Xplane 12 simply puts puddles all over the airport, that means there are unlevel surfaces on the runway right? In real that is a comfortable place to move and keep your hand, but in the sim, it is annoying

Just a heads up, a lower altitude must be in the altitude preselect for the autopilot to capture and descend at the Top of Descent in VNAV.
