Hotel Transylvania 3 hit theaters recently… That means that Dracula, Mavis, Jonathan and the gang are at it again for some new monstrous adventures. But how did this Adam Sandler franchise come to be? @@vickerandflips8061 well, not really since Mavis is 118 and merely looks like a teenager. So she’s really the one robbing the cradle by about 90yrs; that way it’s totally okay when she’s married and knocked up less than a year later for the sequel’s plot to happen.

Throughout the film, everybody acts like Mavis turning 118 is roughly equivalent to a human turning 18. If you do the maths, this means that one vampire year must be equivalent to about six and a half human years. So from the couple's perspective, Johnathan (who if he makes it to ninety will still be only about fourteen in vampire years) entered into a lifelong committed relationship, whereas for Mavis it was more like getting a dog.
Maybe relative to lifespan vampires mature at a different rate than humans. But still.

Spoiler alert: they made the baby’s first words be “bla bla bla”. Oh yes, they jumped the shark in movie 2 and went right to the offspring character. And in 3rd movie Adam Sandler walks off mid conversation saying “blah blah blah” - I laughed. That’s one laugh in 3 films - talk about playing the long game!

This is possibly my favorite youtube series ever.
The entire Hotel Transylvania series is pretty much the equivalent of feature length Looney Tunes cartoons. Especially the third one, which just goes nuts with how much of a cartoon it is. That's the entire tone the series sets itself on and embraces with glee and it is very enjoyable if you take it the way they are selling it. Heck, even Genndy Tartakovsky who directs the movies knows this and he does a phenomenal job of capturing that cartoony energy and animation style from the 1940's and bringing it to CG.
And, once again, like the TTG movie, the humor in the film isn't just "poop, fart, and pee jokes". Majority of the comedy comes from visual gags and physical comedy with some funny verbal dialogue here and there.

Thanks for the explanation! Never saw the film, myself. I try to take pitch meetings with a grain of salt, since they are meant as comedy and not to be completely serious. Nice to hear another side!
