I really hope Stranger Things doesn't do that trope anymore of introducing a likeable character in the beginning of the season then killing them off at the end of the season. It happened with Bob, Alexei, and now Eddie.
The actor who plays Lucas improvised when he screamed for Erica to help. It was not in the script. That really shows you where Caleb actually went in that scene. Brilliant

I'm so surprised by that cause most movie and TV shows make actors just fake it. It's incredible that he actually played master of puppets. A very hard song to master, no pun intended. But also, credits to another person, can't remember his name, but the solo wasn't played by Joseph himself. But still, incredible.

I might be in the minority here, but I actually really liked the restraint they had in Will’s coming out story. Even if he didn’t outright say it, you know what he’s going through. And for this time period and his age, it makes sense why these feelings would scare him, which is why his scene with Jonathan was so great.
I'd agree, plus it really makes his character make sense now.. Like he was always really weird, but now you know why he was always a little off even with his best mate. At first you assume its just due to what happened. But yeah great writing.
Eddie played the most metal show there has ever been, and then stood like a viking to pull the bats away from the portal. I need a spinoff of just him and chrissy being happy somewhere. But if you're going to send him off, that was the most badass thing anyone has ever done on this show. (who wasn't eleven.)
All I have to say is the acting in this show is absolutely phenomenal. I've cried more during this show than any other show it's crazy. These characters are just so special to me so it really hit me hard. Can't wait for the very last season.
That scene of Hawkins breaking is incredible. The ticking and chiming of the clock, almost mockingly, being all frantic and disjointed really sells the “oh shit, we *lost*” feeing
They knew and planned that music for the final episode too. There’s an Kate Bush interview that she says she were approached by the Duffers where they explained to her where her music was going to play and she said they explained it was two key moments: in episode 4 and the final episode.
Gotta be the most I've ever cried in one episode of a show. The emotional rollercoasters throughout the WHOLE episode is insane. The upgrade in quality of this show this season is so ridiculously noticeable. Love it. Season 4 definitely is the best season.
Poor max. 😭 I had a hunch that vecna would still get max. The fact that we still had to see her get broken up like that really hurts. Now, in a coma, I know she will come back but probably not herself/human vegetable or vegetative state. She definitely will be blind though and if she’s does recover from her broken bones injury, she might be crippled or paralyzed in a wheelchair.
What hunch? Dude as soon as she volunteered to be the bait I knew it wasn't just a bad idea but wouldn't end well. I don't care about being right or wrong because I'm heartbroken over what happened in the end but I had a terrible feeling. I saw some theories on here that Max's consciousness is in Vecna's possession. That's probably why it's dark when El enters her mind. Either way I appreciate the realism the Duffer's brought to season 4.

It does suck that eddie died, but if he go through the gate with dustin, the bats will just chase them down. So instead of getting both of them in danger, he might have thought that it will be best to lure the bats away from the gate , from dustin, and chose to fight till the end, instead of dying running away.
Doesn't sound like they picked up that Will was lying about the painting being Eleven's idea. Mike should have known as well, actually, Eleven told him in a letter in episode 1 that Will was painting something and she had no idea what it was.
Based on his facial expressions, I get the sense that Mike realized it, but he doesn't know exactly why Will is withholding. I don't think Mike has really picked up on Will's feelings.
I think Mike was just really focused on El at that point to really get the meaning behind Will's words in any way. He was cuaght up in his own feelings and unable to see past Will's words. But i would t be surpised if he sorta knows how Will feels about him and just donst know how to handle it yet. He could barely handle his own feelings.
The death scene coming right after the most amazing stranger things scene ever made was the craziest change of emotions for me. I kind of knew that Eddie was gonna die the moment he changed his mind about going through the gate. Crying from happiness after that running up that hill scene and then immediately sobbing my heart out for Eddie was the most passionately I've felt for a finale since avengers endgame. Eddie deserved better man, I don't think the Duffer brothers determined how loved he would be by fans x
33:15 First Agents of SHIELD and now Stranger Things, Joel Stoffer (Eddie's uncle) seems determined to make me cry in everything I see him in. I hope he gets to be in season five. If nothing more than to carry on Eddie's legacy and do his part in saving the world from Vecna.
Eddie dying hit me hard, then Max practically almost dying really just made me cry a fucking river. This finale was fucking intense and I loved every moment of it. Part of me doesn’t want another season because Hawkins deserves a fucking break.
I think next season we’ll see Eleven trying to find max in Max’s subconscious, or maybe even in Vecna’s mind. Like maybe how Papa used to have her search in the “darkness”. I wonder if because what Vecna was doing to max was interrupted when it was, she wasn’t able to wake up correctly (her vision not working). Hopefully with time we will see her heal!
Max is still alive inside Vecna. Remember, he absorbs his victims. However, unlike the other victims, her body is still living. She can be restored to her body. I don't understand how they'll have a time jump after that ending.
I don't think they'll have a time jump at all, the kids are adults now so they won't change that much anymore and I really doubt the next season will take as long to come out as s4, they probably will soon start filming
There was so much emotion and power behind that no that I couldn't help but laugh as well. I was feeling the exact same way when I watched this epsiode for the first time.
Either that, or they'd fly back to Steve/Nancy/Robin and ate them while they were pinned to the wall. Either way, if Eddie had escaped someone else would have died as a result
i don't think they could've passed the portal, but they could've probably guarded the upside down entrance, just like they did at the watergate's. or if anything, it would've been more likely for them to return to the Creel's house, to protect Vecna.
I watched the finale while I was on a plane ride and it was taking all power of all the gods for me not to start crying in front of the person sitting next to me.
Vecna whenever he kills someone he basically takes their soul/mind and uses it to increase his power so Vecna has atleast a good chunk of Max's soul rn. She'll most likely be pretty much braindead until the end of the series unless El takes a dive into Vecna's mind and recovers Max from within like halfway through the season which i bet is whats going to happen.
This was so good it didn’t feel like a 2 1/2 hour movie! So bummed about Eddie, they better clear his name and raise a monument in his honor next season!
Has to be asked....how many times is Rana gonna doubt Lucas? She was like always the first to give up on him thinking he was siding with Jason or selling out Eddie. In this reaction she actually thinks Not Lucas is Real Lucas when saying all the creepy things to Max in the attic. And it took her forever to realize it was not him. Like why would Lucas even care that Max would want her racist, despicable brother, Billy, dead?
I saw a comment on Reddit which justifies the decision around Jason’s death. Jason has gone through his life being the centre of attention, everything is always about him, being the captain of the basketball team, the most popular kid in school etc. So it is fitting that way he dies is in a blink and you’ll miss it way, Eddie just died and max got paralysed and Hawkins is getting ripped in half, Jason getting ripped in half is completely irrelevant. And this is how most of the deaths this season has been, everything coming full circle for each character: Brenner realising he’s the monster, Eddie stops running and fights back and becomes the hero, and even Max telling the truth about how she really felt about Billy dying (whether that was truth or not) and then Jason being completely irrelevant, it’s great writing, as satisfying it would be for vecna to snap Jason’s bones Also about Max, Brenner said that when 001 kills he doesn’t just kills, he consumes so when Max died her soul was ripped from her and vecna consumed it, hence he was able to create a gate. El just brought Max’s body back to life, started her heart again, but she’s now just a soulless body. This will definitely have some kind of implication is S5, I’m thinking maybe Max’s soul is trapped in that place in Vecnas mind with the floating parts of the house and El or Will or someone has to rescue Max from there
@@luigiwiiUU I agree. Every scene in season 1 was captivating and intense whilst season 4 had a few captivating plotlines and some not-so-strong ones, for example, the Russia storyline. It wasn't necessarily bad it was just... underwhelming in some parts. In terms of story, I prefer season 1. But Season 4 really blew the acting and the visual effects out of the water.
This episode makes me want to flip over so many tables. The Eddie and Max mainly Max death scene is the most heartbreaking TV death scene I've ever seen. Imagine being an inch from death like that and not knowing where you will go or be. She was so scared and I just wanted to hug her. Caleb deserves an emmy for his performance. The "Erica, help" part was improvised and it may have only been two words but it was powerful. Eddie and Max deserved so much better.

I didn’t sleep last night...I finished volume 2 in whole night... Now I'm so sad😭😭😭😭😭😭😭about Max, Eddie, Lucas, Edies Uncle, Hawkins,...... I wish Stranger things kids never grow up & this series never ends
Apparently Duffer Brothers thought they didn't make the right decision adding Eddie to the series so they gave him a temporary story to write him off instead of continuing it. Turned out to be the highlight of season 4
I don’t think Max “dying” is a negative message considering the allusions to suicide. Before she “dies” her last words are “I don’t want to die, I’m not ready”, which is super tragic but shows how she has begun to overcome her depression, and whilst earlier in the season we see her wish for death, she fought like hell and realised, when faced with death, that she still wanted to live. But it sure makes that end hurt like hell:( I still have hope for her to come back in S5
Lots of tears were shed on my first watch and watching all the reaction videos got me crying more. Fantastic season and amazing finale. Can't wait for season 5.
Watching this makes me realize that the police, the elders and adults in Hawkins are literally the most useless human beings. They have 4 seasons to step up the game after so many weird incidents happening in their town. The audacity to hate the person who died saving their lives.
Yea, like the person above me said, there's really know way for them to understand everything we saw as viewers. You can't really blame their thought process.
They explained that vecna consumes them when he kills someone so my guess is Max's mind is in Vecna and Eleven needs to take it back from him for her to comeback.
Stranger Things made the comeback of the century with this season. The final 2 episodes were an incredible experience. I felt nothing but sheer emotion, stress and excitement for the whole final few hours.
I was there with you all...through the highs, lows, flips, turns, upside down, right-side up rollercoaster ride of emotions. The final season cannot be here fast enough.
I love how the He-Man t-shirt that Hopper is wearing, kind of foreshadows Hopper killing the Demogorgon with a sword. Also, Erica yelling "Crit Hit!" when she bashes the other jock over the head with the flashlight got me lol'ing
jason is literally the most freaking annoying character ever, i literally cheered when he died lol, also, caleb (lucas' actor) ATE and left no crumbs, he was so good this whole season omg, also sadie and millie of course, i hated that 2-day time jump so much lol, i hope they explain wth happened in the upside down after eddie died, this season had so many loose ends that i really hope get tied in s5, the ending of the episode tho, that was a good setup for next season, now we just have to wait
I cheer when he died. Max had just died which might had been avoided if she had listened to her song but he not only was threatening Lucas but also broke the walkman.
Yeah I really do hope they let us know about the letters, I think people see it as a minor thing but really it would make the show so much better if they let us find out what she had written in them, I’m really intrigued to see what she wrote to Steve and Nancy for some reason especially Steve.
This show is Lost 2.0 and I love it for it. A bunch of likeable ordinary people dealing with supernatural threat and becoming the best versions of themselves, a wide range of emotions from absolute happiness to massive tearjerkes, mystery, epicness and spectacular finales that tie all the ongoing storylines together in an amazing climax. I love this show more with each season.
Nancy's vision all came true. During their discussion, she also said that she saw her family, Holly and Mike included, all dead. So I wonder if that's gonna be unavoidable in season 5.

Johnathon indirectly telling will he knows he’s gay and it’s ok is huge. Especially considering the show is set in the 80’s where it wasn’t generally acceptable to be gay.
To a degree. At that time it was down to the individuals you had in your life. I think Johnathan's reaction is very believable even if it's the 80's. Not everyone was homophobic in the 80's, especially since the Byers family weren't that traditional to begin with. Joyce is a single mother raising 2 sons and low income. Johnathon had to be a big brother and figure to Will since their Dad left them, and I think both Joyce and John knew Will was different quite early on. Plus Johnathon doesn't seem the type who would want to break up his family over his brother being gay. They've been through far too much for something so trivial to cause such a rift.
The whole series has to do with Childhood trauma, child abuse, loss, ptsd, stages of depression, for example when Will tells his mom about mindflayer taking possession of his body, Will’s reaction is that of a child that has experienced sexual abuse, even the words he uses, how he tried to fight it but it overpowered him 💔 how he STILL feels it & has flashbacks, how he lost his childhood innocence, how he tries to relive his happy moments with friends Before the world was turned upside down, how his friends begin to like girls but he can’t move forward wanting to recede to his happy memories 😢 Max’s Depression how she was self medicating, seeing a therapist & how she has to chose to live, fight to live, overcoming self blame & so much more 💔

Well Chris, Eddie was made to look like a younger Eddie van Halen :) Also the Nancy gang was pretty balanced. Robin with the throwables, Nancy with the gun and Steve with the melee.
When the town collapsed...and the underworld/as above so below-world started to breach ours...it reminded of when Sunnydale imploded at the end of "Buffy S7"....
This season hands down was a whole rollercoaster!! The emotions were everywhere and I cannot wait for season 5. We're in the endgame now guys and im ready for it!
I was very devastated by Eddie's death... I cried out all my body water for that man, I'll truly never forget about him especially after how much affection and admiration I've had for him this season... Thank you, Eddie. You indeed did not run this time
Suraj not giving a shit about the gates merging because max died was me when I was watching. I had to pause at the merging to cry and make sense of the fuckery when she died. Ugh I’m so glad they made her live
I think Eddie's decision to stand his ground stems from two things. First, obviously, from his earlier trauma and guilt from running during Chrissy's death. While completely understandable, the fact he ran away is something that obviously haunts him. Eddie probably never thought of himself as a coward but when push came to shove, he did an action that he interprets as cowardly (again, I don't think it was cowardly and most people wouldn't either, but from Eddie's personal perspective, he feels like he was a coward). But just as important as that I think is the fact that Eddie isn't a dummy. He's realistic about things and knows his situation. Despite seeing first hand all the crazy things, and the actual reason behind everyone's death, he knows that there's really no way in hell that anyone would believe his story, even after they kill Vecna. Imagine trying to tell any court or jury the actual story. No one will ever believe him so he'll never be exonerated. He will always be wanted for murder for the rest of his life. Honestly, his "normal life" was over the night Chrissy died. Can you imagine living your entire life like that, always looking over your shoulder, living off the grid? Maybe it wasn't even a conscious thought, but I think subconsciously, Eddie was aware of this. So when you combine those two things together, when Eddie sees an opportunity to prove to himself, to Chrissy, to anybody else that he isn't a coward, that he will stand his ground in the face of evil, even if it costs him his life, when that life is a painful life full of fear and anxiety, he decides it's not a choice at all. He has to do it. He rather go out fighting.
Remember kids, the outfit Eddie wears in the show is a lot like the "mascot" on the cover of every Iron Maiden album, which is also states to be one of his favorite bands. And the guy on the cover of Iron Maiden albums, is named Eddie. That doesn't seem to be a coincidence, that's a foreshadow to season 5 I stg
I actually personally like that Max is sorta gone, I hope she comes back though. I hope she’s in Vecna and she piggy backs back to her body. But as far as Surjay being disappointed about the message about being depressed not working out the way I see it is depression and suicidal thoughts aren’t as simple as running away from it once, it’s so much harder and more frequent, but Max will not just run away from her depression aka Vecna in the last season. I bet she’ll turn it into a strength. My humble theory at least.
The tears streamed this episode. I rarely feel so terrified from anything I watch. This had me there by the end and I love it. This is how you do a finale. This is how you keep people coming back. RIP to Eddie, man. I really loved his character.
Max was the 4th or the last person that Vecna needed to comple his curse to open the portals in Hawkins. And maybe the reason why Eleven couldn't find Max during her telepathy staff is because her soul was already being taken out by Vecna. So when El tried to revive Max, physically she could do that, however her soul was not. There might be a possibility Max's soul was trapped on the in between, being imprisoned somewhere by Vecna or the Mind Flayers . Or El , if she could do this, might use her telepathy power to get inside Vecna's mind and find their where Max is being kept off.

I have never seen a better depiction of gay adolescence anywhere. That’s exactly what it’s like. Absolutely blew me away.

It does suck that eddie died, but if he go through the gate with dustin, the bats will just chase them down. So instead of getting both of them in danger, he might have thought that it will be best to lure the bats away from the gate , from dustin, and chose to fight till the end, instead of dying running away.
I'm just now realizing that the gates meet up exactly where Joyce and Hopper find Will.
Doesn't sound like they picked up that Will was lying about the painting being Eleven's idea. Mike should have known as well, actually, Eleven told him in a letter in episode 1 that Will was painting something and she had no idea what it was.
Based on his facial expressions, I get the sense that Mike realized it, but he doesn't know exactly why Will is withholding. I don't think Mike has really picked up on Will's feelings.

I think Mike was just really focused on El at that point to really get the meaning behind Will's words in any way. He was cuaght up in his own feelings and unable to see past Will's words. But i would t be surpised if he sorta knows how Will feels about him and just donst know how to handle it yet. He could barely handle his own feelings.
Will could be showing another painting to Mike though, we know that's the painting El was talking about, but how would Mike know it?

The death scene coming right after the most amazing stranger things scene ever made was the craziest change of emotions for me. I kind of knew that Eddie was gonna die the moment he changed his mind about going through the gate. Crying from happiness after that running up that hill scene and then immediately sobbing my heart out for Eddie was the most passionately I've felt for a finale since avengers endgame. Eddie deserved better man, I don't think the Duffer brothers determined how loved he would be by fans x
The writing, acting, graphics, CGI, everything was just absolutely phenomenal.
33:15 First Agents of SHIELD and now Stranger Things, Joel Stoffer (Eddie's uncle) seems determined to make me cry in everything I see him in. I hope he gets to be in season five. If nothing more than to carry on Eddie's legacy and do his part in saving the world from Vecna.

Eddie dying hit me hard, then Max practically almost dying really just made me cry a fucking river. This finale was fucking intense and I loved every moment of it. Part of me doesn’t want another season because Hawkins deserves a fucking break.
I think next season we’ll see Eleven trying to find max in Max’s subconscious, or maybe even in Vecna’s mind. Like maybe how Papa used to have her search in the “darkness”. I wonder if because what Vecna was doing to max was interrupted when it was, she wasn’t able to wake up correctly (her vision not working). Hopefully with time we will see her heal!

i don't think they could've passed the portal, but they could've probably guarded the upside down entrance, just like they did at the watergate's. or if anything, it would've been more likely for them to return to the Creel's house, to protect Vecna.
I watched the finale while I was on a plane ride and it was taking all power of all the gods for me not to start crying in front of the person sitting next to me.

Vecna whenever he kills someone he basically takes their soul/mind and uses it to increase his power so Vecna has atleast a good chunk of Max's soul rn. She'll most likely be pretty much braindead until the end of the series unless El takes a dive into Vecna's mind and recovers Max from within like halfway through the season which i bet is whats going to happen.

Has to be asked....how many times is Rana gonna doubt Lucas? She was like always the first to give up on him thinking he was siding with Jason or selling out Eddie. In this reaction she actually thinks Not Lucas is Real Lucas when saying all the creepy things to Max in the attic. And it took her forever to realize it was not him. Like why would Lucas even care that Max would want her racist, despicable brother, Billy, dead?

I saw a comment on Reddit which justifies the decision around Jason’s death. Jason has gone through his life being the centre of attention, everything is always about him, being the captain of the basketball team, the most popular kid in school etc. So it is fitting that way he dies is in a blink and you’ll miss it way, Eddie just died and max got paralysed and Hawkins is getting ripped in half, Jason getting ripped in half is completely irrelevant. And this is how most of the deaths this season has been, everything coming full circle for each character: Brenner realising he’s the monster, Eddie stops running and fights back and becomes the hero, and even Max telling the truth about how she really felt about Billy dying (whether that was truth or not) and then Jason being completely irrelevant, it’s great writing, as satisfying it would be for vecna to snap Jason’s bones
Also about Max, Brenner said that when 001 kills he doesn’t just kills, he consumes so when Max died her soul was ripped from her and vecna consumed it, hence he was able to create a gate. El just brought Max’s body back to life, started her heart again, but she’s now just a soulless body. This will definitely have some kind of implication is S5, I’m thinking maybe Max’s soul is trapped in that place in Vecnas mind with the floating parts of the house and El or Will or someone has to rescue Max from there
I loved season 1, but season 4 has kind of blown it out of the water.
I think the story in season 1 is still better, but 4 has stronger emotional moments and action
@@luigiwiiUU I agree. Every scene in season 1 was captivating and intense whilst season 4 had a few captivating plotlines and some not-so-strong ones, for example, the Russia storyline. It wasn't necessarily bad it was just... underwhelming in some parts. In terms of story, I prefer season 1. But Season 4 really blew the acting and the visual effects out of the water.
This episode makes me want to flip over so many tables. The Eddie and Max mainly Max death scene is the most heartbreaking TV death scene I've ever seen. Imagine being an inch from death like that and not knowing where you will go or be. She was so scared and I just wanted to hug her. Caleb deserves an emmy for his performance. The "Erica, help" part was improvised and it may have only been two words but it was powerful. Eddie and Max deserved so much better.

Apparently Duffer Brothers thought they didn't make the right decision adding Eddie to the series so they gave him a temporary story to write him off instead of continuing it. Turned out to be the highlight of season 4

I don’t think Max “dying” is a negative message considering the allusions to suicide. Before she “dies” her last words are “I don’t want to die, I’m not ready”, which is super tragic but shows how she has begun to overcome her depression, and whilst earlier in the season we see her wish for death, she fought like hell and realised, when faced with death, that she still wanted to live. But it sure makes that end hurt like hell:( I still have hope for her to come back in S5

This was Max's season. Everyone was amazing but her acting was phenomenal for someone so young as well.
Lots of tears were shed on my first watch and watching all the reaction videos got me crying more.

Watching this makes me realize that the police, the elders and adults in Hawkins are literally the most useless human beings. They have 4 seasons to step up the game after so many weird incidents happening in their town. The audacity to hate the person who died saving their lives.

They explained that vecna consumes them when he kills someone so my guess is Max's mind is in Vecna and Eleven needs to take it back from him for her to comeback.
Stranger Things made the comeback of the century with this season. The final 2 episodes were an incredible experience. I felt nothing but sheer emotion, stress and excitement for the whole final few hours.

jason is literally the most freaking annoying character ever, i literally cheered when he died lol, also, caleb (lucas' actor) ATE and left no crumbs, he was so good this whole season omg, also sadie and millie of course, i hated that 2-day time jump so much lol, i hope they explain wth happened in the upside down after eddie died, this season had so many loose ends that i really hope get tied in s5, the ending of the episode tho, that was a good setup for next season, now we just have to wait
I cheer when he died. Max had just died which might had been avoided if she had listened to her song but he not only was threatening Lucas but also broke the walkman.

Yeah I really do hope they let us know about the letters, I think people see it as a minor thing but really it would make the show so much better if they let us find out what she had written in them, I’m really intrigued to see what she wrote to Steve and Nancy for some reason especially Steve.
This show is Lost 2.0 and I love it for it. A bunch of likeable ordinary people dealing with supernatural threat and becoming the best versions of themselves, a wide range of emotions from absolute happiness to massive tearjerkes, mystery, epicness and spectacular finales that tie all the ongoing storylines together in an amazing climax. I love this show more with each season.
Nancy's vision all came true. During their discussion, she also said that she saw her family, Holly and Mike included, all dead. So I wonder if that's gonna be unavoidable in season 5.

Johnathon indirectly telling will he knows he’s gay and it’s ok is huge. Especially considering the show is set in the 80’s where it wasn’t generally acceptable to be gay.
To a degree. At that time it was down to the individuals you had in your life. I think Johnathan's reaction is very believable even if it's the 80's. Not everyone was homophobic in the 80's, especially since the Byers family weren't that traditional to begin with. Joyce is a single mother raising 2 sons and low income. Johnathon had to be a big brother and figure to Will since their Dad left them, and I think both Joyce and John knew Will was different quite early on. Plus Johnathon doesn't seem the type who would want to break up his family over his brother being gay. They've been through far too much for something so trivial to cause such a rift.

The whole series has to do with Childhood trauma, child abuse, loss, ptsd, stages of depression, for example when Will tells his mom about mindflayer taking possession of his body, Will’s reaction is that of a child that has experienced sexual abuse, even the words he uses, how he tried to fight it but it overpowered him 💔 how he STILL feels it & has flashbacks, how he lost his childhood innocence, how he tries to relive his happy moments with friends Before the world was turned upside down, how his friends begin to like girls but he can’t move forward wanting to recede to his happy memories 😢 Max’s Depression how she was self medicating, seeing a therapist & how she has to chose to live, fight to live, overcoming self blame & so much more 💔

I think Eddie's decision to stand his ground stems from two things. First, obviously, from his earlier trauma and guilt from running during Chrissy's death. While completely understandable, the fact he ran away is something that obviously haunts him. Eddie probably never thought of himself as a coward but when push came to shove, he did an action that he interprets as cowardly (again, I don't think it was cowardly and most people wouldn't either, but from Eddie's personal perspective, he feels like he was a coward).
But just as important as that I think is the fact that Eddie isn't a dummy. He's realistic about things and knows his situation. Despite seeing first hand all the crazy things, and the actual reason behind everyone's death, he knows that there's really no way in hell that anyone would believe his story, even after they kill Vecna. Imagine trying to tell any court or jury the actual story. No one will ever believe him so he'll never be exonerated. He will always be wanted for murder for the rest of his life. Honestly, his "normal life" was over the night Chrissy died. Can you imagine living your entire life like that, always looking over your shoulder, living off the grid? Maybe it wasn't even a conscious thought, but I think subconsciously, Eddie was aware of this.
So when you combine those two things together, when Eddie sees an opportunity to prove to himself, to Chrissy, to anybody else that he isn't a coward, that he will stand his ground in the face of evil, even if it costs him his life, when that life is a painful life full of fear and anxiety, he decides it's not a choice at all. He has to do it. He rather go out fighting.

I actually personally like that Max is sorta gone, I hope she comes back though. I hope she’s in Vecna and she piggy backs back to her body. But as far as Surjay being disappointed about the message about being depressed not working out the way I see it is depression and suicidal thoughts aren’t as simple as running away from it once, it’s so much harder and more frequent, but Max will not just run away from her depression aka Vecna in the last season. I bet she’ll turn it into a strength. My humble theory at least.

The tears streamed this episode. I rarely feel so terrified from anything I watch. This had me there by the end and I love it. This is how you do a finale. This is how you keep people coming back. RIP to Eddie, man. I really loved his character.
Max was the 4th or the last person that Vecna needed to comple his curse to open the portals in Hawkins.
And maybe the reason why Eleven couldn't find Max during her telepathy staff is because her soul was already being taken out by Vecna. So when El tried to revive Max, physically she could do that, however her soul was not.
There might be a possibility Max's soul was trapped on the in between, being imprisoned somewhere by Vecna or the Mind Flayers .
Or El , if she could do this, might use her telepathy power to get inside Vecna's mind and find their where Max is being kept off.
