When I was a teen That album inspired me to write music on acoustic guitar and it still does. I recently went to his solo show and when he played those old songs I couldn’t hold my tears back remembering those good old days . First time I cried at one of his shows lol

I think the reason why Dallas's cover is so good is because, as you said, he doesn't just sing the lyrics. He feels them. And that emotion creates a real resonance in his performance. For those of us of a certain age, AIC songs bring back strong memories and we react emotionally not just from the music, but the memories of those times and also the loss of those voices that sang those songs. I always loved this song, but hearing Dallas sing it the way he did also made me tear up. It just proves how good of an artist he is.
I’ve loved City and colour for so long. Paradise has got me through so many hard times. Still can’t believe there’s a lot of people who have never heard of them

Dallas Green deserves to be so much more known than he is. Its a shame. I have seen him twice live and its like nothing id ever seen before. I wish he got more recognition
Being a huge Layne Staley/AIC fan, it is so hard to listen to those who cover their music b/c, even the best of artists, just miss the mark. However, Dallas blew me away with his interpretation of the song. He took this gritty, raw, slightly fearful/sad song and made it equally haunting yet so beautifully smooth - and you could still feel the angst that was Layne. Well done! And yes I shed a few tears as well!!!
I named my son Layne because of my love for the man. Layne was telling us flatout in his music that he was on a path to death , you can almost hear the accepted reality of his own demise on the Dirt album, he knows the addiction has him and most likely will destroy him. He was a one in a billion talent and missed sorely by us hardcore Fans.
I love when other musicians appreciate the soul in the music enough to let their emotions show. Goosebumps and tears is a regular for me when I discover new music. Let em flow brother
I've seen City and Colour twice and he is an unworldly talent. Actually the last time I saw him he opened with a full acoustic set opening for Alice in Chains. He said it was a bucket list performance for him since that was his favourite band ever

Dallas Green is so good. I became aware of him from a video at the 2018 JUNO awards where he performed Bobcaygeon along with another great Canadian artist Sarah Harmer. A great tribute to the late Gord Downie. So many wonderful Canadian musicians!
There aren't many perfect albums out there, but Little Hell and The Hurry and the Harm are about as close as anyone can get to perfect. Both made by Dallas.
